I saw Billy Joel several years ago at New Orleans Jazz Fest, he and his band were amazing. I was really surprised how great his horn section was, New Orleans is the birth place of jazz and they have some of the best horn players in the world. With that being said, Billy Joel had excellent musicians in his band and he preformed like he was 21 years old, full of energy, never missed a note, and sang beautifully. He has a lot of hits and is a definitely must see band if they come to your home town or a place near by you. Thanks Jon.

I hear the blues shuffle being played throughout the entire bridge on the recording. :)

Hi Jon, I was hoping you would teach the vocal melody also. I have not learned scales/theory yet so hard for me to work out. is there a tab to the melody? Thanks

hi jon! thanks for the lesson. by the way, i bought my son a fender player stratocaster. i just want to know your opinion, is it worth to change the pickups. i already put fender locking tuning machines , new string trees ( Graph Tech PT 7004 00 String Tree 2er Set), graph tech PS 8000 00 string saver reiter, and Graph Tech PQ 9280 C0 TUSQ bridge. now the guitar stays in tune for days. please jon, tell me is it worth it to change the pickups. the one i have in mind are Fender Ultra Noiseless Hot Stratocaster Pickups. thanks for your time and help. greetings from morocco.💕👍✌

Hey Benadi! That’s awesome. It sounds like you already kind of modded it out. It must be a nice setup! Fender is my favorite brand for electric guitars. Even the Squiers are pretty great guitars and I know pros that use them on gigs. The guitar I am playing in this video was $399 and is completely stock. If you don’t like the sound sure change the pickups. But most likely if you dial in the amp, you should be able to get a great tone from what you have. Most of the sound comes from your hands. More practice can make your gear sound better and it’s free. I have expensive guitars and cheap guitars but most likely no one is going to comment on this video something like “Hey Jon awesome lesson but if you changed your stock pickups out then it would have been so much better” the gear quality now is better than ever. But if it gets you excited about playing and you are happy with the sound. Give it a try. You can always put the old pickups back in if you don’t like it.
