@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 Oh dear my friend you don't get it do you. The council selects this "one president"... Who selects the council? You see, democracy isnt always a 2 step process. For example, the president of the Council is elected by the heads of the member states, who are in turn elected by the people. It's called indirect democracy and it is still definitely democracy. In fact its the way our representative system works in the UK. Essentially, 4/5 main EU institutions are either directly elected or indirectly elected. Scotland did not vote in the EU referendum. The referendum was not based on constituencies; it was based on the UK as a whole, so everyone who voted did so as a member of the UK.

@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 the fact that you don't know there is more than one EU president... And they're ALL at least partly democratically elected is very telling 😂😂🤦♂️
Alex Abbott Wrong. There is one, who leads the commissioners. They are selected by the European Council and then rubber stamped by the MEPs after approval by the commissioners. No citizens of the EU go to the voting booth and elect this person. Partly democratic is not democratic. I’m sure everyone in North Korea votes for Kim and his hand picked ministers too.
@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 Oh dear my friend you don't get it do you. The council selects this "one president"... Who selects the council?
You see, democracy isnt always a 2 step process. I.e from people to end result. There are often other steps along the way.
The only exception being the ecj (but that's a good thing)
The queen or rubber stamp? Both do the same job why does it cost so much to keep her and her family in 'power' . Her subjects are suffering from austerity we need to learn lessons from the French.
This business of leaving the EU is now just mega-boring. I have stopped watching any political programmes. The real issue now is the conflict between London and the regions and nations, and the centre/establishment/élite and the rest of us. All politicians are part of London and the centre and it is up to the rest of us out there to put the pressure on them to make this country better balanced and more equal. People like Mr Johson or Mr Rees-Mogg hardly represent us. But they can be co-erced into doing our will.
XD yeah, sure, you're coercing them into doing your will! Meanwhile the cons have their largest majority and decades and boris is full steam ahead turning London into a tax haven.
If you were trying to fight the London elite then you've done it in a really stupid way, just watch over the next 5-10 years as the London economy booms and the rest of the country is left to the dogs.
"Not with a bang but with a whimper." To use T.S Elliott's oft used line.
That's right- but Brexit supporters have yet to learn this.
