Chair Leg Repair

Thanks for this. These chairs are absolutely everywhere, and the way the leg attaches is diabolical - mine come loose every 3 months or so.

Try this... The next time it comes loose, put a few drops of Loctite Threadlocker Blue on the bolt before tightening. It prevents the nut from backing out but in the event you NEED to remove it, it (the blue glue) breaks and allows you to loosen it.

I have chairs like this they are a nightmare, you have to keep tightening the legs up with an Allan key, I'm glad I found this Vidio November 2020

I think it is more good and durable to use glue and wooden gowels to attach leg to corner bracket and attaching same leg to aprons connectiong to it and it will be a more and more effecient if we used lower x spindles that surley will prodice a perfect chair against time passing

Hi I’m trying to find legs like these but can’t find them anywhere. Any idea on what to say exactly when looking?

Square legs like this seem to be hard to find replacements for and you may be better off just making your own. It's not too difficult if you have a table saw. Another option is finding a set for sale on FB Marketplace. Hope it works out for you.

What kind of epoxy did you use to secure the old threated insert? Thanks.

It was a 5 min 2 part epoxy. From Lowes

It was a 3/8 threaded insert. You can get them at Lowes, Home Depot or Ace Hardware
