👍😍😍😍
I’m so excited for your reaction to this album, which is called “The Gods We Can Touch”, and is inspired by greek mythology 🤗
This is her first collaboration on any of her albums 👍
Pomme is a french artist, and I love her song “Adieu mon homme”💕
Aurora made this album under the pandemic, so she and Pomme actually didn’t meet until after she released the album.
So in the audio version Pomme “only” sings the last part in french.
On a livestream by Pomme, Aurora recounted how their collaboration came to be:
"I made my album in a castle in Norway, and it has French history. And this man lived in this castle like hundreds of years ago, and he was French, Marcus Gerhard. And he loved art and music and he celebrated and invited people, and I thought it would be a nice way to honour this French castle by having you."
Aurora later explained to Apple Music:
"I don't normally do features. I knew a bit about Pomme because she's extremely sweet and very talented. I wanted to include some Frenchness on the opening song as a gift to the castle that gave me a lot of the inspiration to finish this album. I asked her if she could write the ending of my song in French, and she wrote a beautiful story about the flowers we picked in all of your favourite places. It is an ode to Baroniet (Baroness) Rosendal."
Looking forward to the next🥰
Oh, thanks for correcting me about the album name! And that is an interesting backstory to this song 😊The only French chateau that I have been to is the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina and being around that kind of architecture can be really inspiring indeed. I can only imagine feeing the history of the place she has been to. I haven't been to Europe yet, but that is definitely something I want to experience.
Wonderful collab between Aurora and Pomme! Would love to see them collaborate again!
You should really watch the other live version privately from Rhythm by Modzik, it is also very good.
Here is a translation of the french verses (not my translation):
Somewhere before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world, a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
In the night, we will find
Somewhere to drop off
The flowers that we picked
Leave before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world, a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
In the night, we will find
Somewhere to drop off
The flowers that we picked
Leave before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world, a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
In the night, we will find
Somewhere to drop off
The flowers that we...
Agreed, that’s my favourite performance of this song😍
Probably my favorite track from her latest album. But the MODZIK version is the one to watch (at least on your own time). Popular vocal coach reactor Julia Nilon fangirled all over that version, and for good reason. The performance, sound and arrangement is perfection!
Will do. I don't know why I was called to react to the radio version, but I follow my instincts. 😊
Claire Pommet, name of artist: Pomme (meaning "apple"); oui, elle est française, and she's interesting too. I too began to learn french language, but a very a long time ago, and, well, I haven't yet switched from it or forgotten it, as it is still my homeland.🙃
French part:
Somewhere before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world, a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
We will find in the night
Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked
Leave before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
We will find in the night
Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked
Leave before dawn
When the light wants to see us
Somewhere in the world a bird falls asleep
Quietly, you and me
We will find in the night
Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked
Promised,
Promised, promised, promised,
Promised
I'm usually absolutely found of acoustic performances, but here, even if the guitarist is good, there's a kind of monotony that is not in the album or in some other live performance (I miss the succession of different instruments, and the variation of atmosphere that it gives and that I appreciate a lot, especially with the piano... everything matters, I guess). But it's still beautiful to hear, indeed. Check out privately the most popular live version, to compare, if you wish.
Anyway, thanks for this nice reaction to this great duet, Aurora and Pomme.🙂👍
Thanks for the translation! Yeah, it is good to honor your roots. I'm part French too, so I can appreciate the culture. 😊
Thank you for beutiful reacts . lovly song bay Aurora and Pomme . You shud react to Karpe and the song Salmalaks . many langwits there . norwagan grupp
For more french song, Please react to « un million » official video or live from Pomme. Or Loïc Nottet, a belgian singer.
I think Aurora sounds beautiful in this live, as well. I think the guitarist is playing too fast and it seems Aurora was trying to catch his eye to play slower and he is totally oblivious.. He is playing at a really fast clip and seems to speed up half way through, too. That is frustrating to see. But Aurora and Pomme sounded like perfection anyway !!
