- Hey! I am sharing a SAHM Day in the Life with you! A little Summer Homemaking Motivation if you will. In this video I am trying to get it all done, while also packing for a funeral. I have packing to do, end of school teacher gifts to get together, plus some shopping and everyday household stuff that I want to get in order before I head out of town. There's laundry to finish, baking to do, and I even have to iron (gross!). So come hang out with me as a share a not so typical day in the life as I get things done. I hope you are doing well!
Chocolate Zucchini Cake
2 Eggs, beaten
3/4c. Oil (can sub applesauce)
1 1/2c. Sugar
1 1/2c. Grated Zucchini
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2c. Flour
1/2 tsp. baking sokda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Heaping tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp. Baking Powder
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix eggs, oil, sugar, grated zucchini, and vanilla in a medium/large bowl. Add remaining ingredients. I add a few handfuls of chocolate chips to the batter, then pour into a 9X13 baking dish. Bake for 30-45 minutes.

Rhia, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother!! I can relate to the packing and traveling for funerals all too well. Last year had one in June and then turned around and went back in July. In July for my step-dad my sister and I just went. Obviously it was for a very sad reason but our 14hr sister road trip, getting to see our step siblings and family that we hadn't see in forever was so wonderful at the same time. Very bittersweet. I love that you have that recipe! My best friend knew I had a family recipie written by my mom who passed away in 2009 and she asked to borrow it. She made pot holders with the recipie written on them. It was so sweet and thoughtful! I have them hanging in my kitchen❤.
Love the teacher gifts! My seniors last day is Friday and my 5th graders is next Friday.

You made me excited that I planted a zucchini plant- I don’t enjoy them, my husband does but it produces a LOT. Totally gonna try this recipe!

I have 2 of the 3 (?) Magnolia Table books, and I think that my favorite so far is the biscuits, but I don't use all salted butter because it was a little too salty the first time around. The skillet cornbread is good too!

I’m sorry for your loss. 😞 My grandmother passed away a few years ago and she was 94 so she lived a long, healthy and happy life.
Is there something wrong with your dishwasher? I think I have the same one. I bought it from Costco about a year ago.

The dishwasher itself was great! It did the job! The problem was that something got stuck to the bottom and the heating element melted it and created a hole...we think...We patched the hole for a while, and then finally replaced it.
