I'm Brazilian and grumixama brings me childhood memories. I had a huge tree in my yard. Nowadays they're extremely rare. I haven't seen one for the past 25 years! Thanks for the memories, dude.
Nice ! Wish I could get that Tropical to survive & produce here in the interior, low desert climate here in Metro Phoenix, Arizona, US. But just a little too hot here; particularly overnight in the summer. I did have a plant nearly make it 3 yrs in a protected micro-climate, but struggled just a bit too much.
Hi, do you prune your plant Grumichama? I have one which is keep growing taller, more than 2 meters and not yet flowered, please help me with your valuable advice, Thanks
I first pruned after it began to fruit, the branches are brittle. I removed inner growth to allow better air flow. Mine gets minimal fertilizer and lots of water.
From what I’ve heard, yes. But with more of a hint of cherry, pomegranate, and apple. But mine have yet to flower so I’m not sure. Also tropical fruit in general are known to taste very different to different people and in slightly different growing conditions
Beautiful fruit grumixima (eugenia brasiliensis) a grumixima amarela e mais saborosa Very Nice vídeo

I hope you have better luck!
Fabulous colour to the apricots. At least my grumichama is looking pretty good for winter, no leaf loss yet 🤞
Grumichama and Suriname cherry are far more cold tolerant than Acerola
Have you made cuttings from your plant ?
I did seedlings.
Did you provide frost protection for the Grumichama when it was a seedling? Or are they completely fine unprotected through Victorian frosts?
Completely unprotected outside in my winter garden
So niceeeeeee 😍😍😍
Thanks 🤗
Very nice crop. Mine didn't fruit this year but nevermind, there's always next year.
Grumichama takes around 4 years to fruit in Melbourne. Better luck next year.

Does Grumichama taste similar to Acerola(barbados cherry) or Suriname Cherry?
From what I’ve heard, yes. But with more of a hint of cherry, pomegranate, and apple. But mine have yet to flower so I’m not sure. Also tropical fruit in general are known to taste very different to different people and in slightly different growing conditions
Grumichama is sweeter than Acerola, even more so than Suriname Cherry. All 3 have a hint of pepper and spice.
Sir is grumichara is same as Surinam cherry.can you teach us what
Surinam cherry has a ribbed shape. Grumichama are round and much sweeter.
one of my grumichama is doing well and another keeps threatening to give up.
My grumichama looks one third the size of yours at 7 years
