    I have a friend who is struggling to get her cocker groomed due to the cost of where she is living and working. She would like to trim her at home but is not sure where to start. Do you have any advice I should share with her. She is a full time airforce logistics officer as well as a single mum of twin girls. I’d really like to be able to help her. I love your video as it’s so easy to watch how you are doing it. Can she use a standard pair of clippers to do this herself?

    Thank you for the video, during covid I couldn’t take my dog to the “hairstylist” (sorry I don’t know the word for dogs😂) so I followed your video and she went pretty well (ps. Sorry for my English but I’m not a native speaker, I’m italian)

      Depends on lineage of the dog. Some have longer fur like this one and once clipped it grows back a lot longer.
      Ines bred for type are shirt but people who buy them as pets still get them clipped

    • @Fairbuy_
      @Fairbuy_ 6 лет назад +6

      Would you rather have it being burry for the whole video? The camera is trying to auto focus all the time, but with a moving dog and human that can be hard, and the fact that this dog is black doesn't make it easier. Why complain about something as trivial as this? If it bothers you that much watch another channel.

      I clip my spanner all over apart from ears, head and tail, he is working type and long fluffy fur gets muddy . So much better to keep him clean when clipped . Plus less to get caught in bushes .

    • @JulieElaineFoster
      @JulieElaineFoster 6 лет назад +1

      Exactly!!!!!

    • @katrinahowieson
      @katrinahowieson 5 лет назад +3

      I agree. I have never clipped my working Springer Spaniels! They have naturally beautiful, shiny coats, I can never understand why people want to ruin them with clippers! A good groomer told me that once they've been clipped, their coat will never be the same, so for me, it's scissors only!! Yes, they get mucky, so just take a bit of time, and clean and brush them every day.

  • @davidmacdonald1579

    • @GotAnUmbrella

      Hate to break it to you, but using straights on the feet is perfectly acceptable. Eric Silas used to feature a video on his channel of someone whose name escapes me that was show grooming Cockers and used straights. He made perfect feet that blended in fantastically because he knew how to use them. He made beautiful bell curves with straight shears.

That is if you don’t mind it really sort or shaved and certainly not perfect. But, if you want your dog to look truly amazing then it’s gonna take a bit. People’s expectations are getting out of hand.
