I play volleyball and I have now twice gotten pain on my lower back, one time on my right side now on my left. To people exercising, stretching is EXTREMELY important and a crucial part of training. These stretches works for me! :)

What a timely video. I had a stroke more than a year ago, and am still experiencing muscle contractures on the right side of my back, which was the side of the body affected by the stroke. Today, the lower right side was particularly bad for some reason, and I could not figure out how to even begin stretching out of the pain. Love yr work Jared. I have picked up lots of exercises for my back, neck and core form you. Question: you concentrate on reps of a movement, eg the swimmer move at the end of this video. Is this better than holding the move for say 15 seconds.? Thanks
All of these are exactly what my physical therapist told me to do last year for my low back pain! After years of not understanding why my back “goes out on me” I finally learned that I have a muscle imbalance and extremely weak hips and glutes! I am a runner (run-walk-run method) and had to give up Running last year due to the back pain as well as a knee injury, in May, where I fell over my 12-year-old golden retriever, hit my knee super hard on my hardwood floor and damaged nerves under my patella… I literally could not put any type of pressure on that knee until November!! And although it is pretty much healed by now as in there’s no pain when I kneel on it at all it’s still slightly numb. I’ve actually only been running for a couple of years and I am signed up for the Chicago Marathon this year which will be my first marathon! And I know that if I want to get there without injury I’ve got to keep doing all of these exercises! I know I also need to incorporate foam rolling again as well that was something else he really wanted me to do which I’m lazy yet I will admit. But as far as all of these exercises go they are definitely helping! But since I’m not going to my physical therapy anymore I am excited to hopefully learn some more things from your channel to incorporate!
Same happen to me before 2 weeks it was a flexion intolerant which got better in less than 3 days and yesterday I try to squat again 80% of my max and had a back pain and it's a one sided lower back I couldn't sleep last night on my right side. I think I will give up on squat for long time and focus on my core and posture

My lower back has been hurting every morning thinking it was from a damaged disk or hurt it from lifting. Turns out it was a tight muscle needing stretching. This video helped especially the last two intense stretches where I could really feel it in my right side butt cheeks and back side muscle... cheers

Pain makes you stupid. What I am really saying is that when your in pain you forget things that can and will help you. I saw this video and it reminded me of all these great things I can do for relief! Its so easy to help somebody else. When it comes to things to helping yourself we ALWAYS forget. Make a folder and save these videos! Next time pain over takes your brain... go to your saved videos. It helps a lot!
