    To all the younger crowd saying "it's a Kia" I can remember when Toyota was a cheap import that had no credibility, now they have Lexus ...... Kia will also grow if they keep putting out good product like this.

    • @stevesy710
      @stevesy710 6 лет назад +6

      Keep in mind it's more Hyundai's Genesis brand that is growing. Kia is a subsidiary of Hyundai so they are going to most likely keep Kia on the backburner. That's why you see Hyundai investing so much into their Genesis models/trims. Hope that also explains to many the reason why Kia isn't making their own luxury brand. That would be a horrible business decision to cut your own marketshare even smaller when speaking on the Genesis brand's target market.

      philip L / I was around when Lexus Debuted. Toyota was never looked as a cheap import. Toyota debuted Lexus correctly, with its own dealer channel. This Kia Stinger is amazing. However it was done with Germans. One from BMW, one from Audi. Lexus was done all in house. Big difference. And is why they successfully done well. Don't get me wrong. The a Stinger is great. You are just wrong with the Lexus comment. Plus, I live in Los Angeles California where import have been always accepted and welcomed. You are wrong about the young people. They are open minded. It's the older crowd that has a problem with Kia. Or people from the south. Toyota was always looked as a quality product. Even the Failed 1957 Toyopet Crown. Americans looked at is as underpowered, but respected the Quality.

      philip L Uh, this is incorrect. The younger crowd doesn't think this because they weren't around when Kia first hit the scene, in places like the U.S. it's the older crowd that has that mentality.

    I have owned BMWs for the past 10 years. This weekend I saw a Stinger in the showroom, pulled in.. Took a look at it, experienced it. And I have to say... It feels better built than a Mercedes or BMW. Absolutely ridiculous improvement in build quality. Amazing car.

      @tbvjqor123 6 лет назад +8

      I have 15 C300 fully optioned (about 5k more expensive than top trip Stinger in Canada), I gotta say, it felt like Stinger is class above my car in pretty much every aspect. Got more power, adaptive dampers, more practical, much better interior quality all backed up by 10 yr warranty. It does feel alot more expensive than it is than my car.

    • @tbvjqor123
      @tbvjqor123 6 лет назад +5

      King of The Castle It proves that you never purchased new car in your life. I owned 4 cars so far in my life and always got JDpower survey emailed to me. Every year, they email you about your new car and the questions are very extensive takes about an hour to complete and I have always replied. If you havent received any of it, you just havent had a new car. And what's wrong with Chevy winning many JD power awards? Usually non-luxury companies top the chart because those luxury German makers always seem to make mistakes when they innovate. ex 2014 and up Mercedes having lots of problem as a result of radical changes in design language leading interior rattles, squeaks etc thus reflected on JD power rankings.

      Q K, RUclipsr user 12345, Let’s all accept that Kia has included styles from not only Mercedes,but Audi.What I mean is the the style of the center vents is straight from Audi (even the side vents are similar to those in r8s).The controls section and climate controls section also remind me of Audi(Audi a3). Now regarding the style of the center console,indeed it fully resembles Mercedes one(the placement of the vents).BMW has nothing to do with Kia,Merc and Audi if you want whatsoever.U talked about SUVs,and this one is a fastback sedan.But at the end of the day ,what matters the most is that Kia becomes a better automotive company when it comes to reliability ,performance and quality.

    My wife and I both bought brand new cars in 2015. She got a KIA, I got a Dodge. I’ve been to the Dodge dealership for six separate issues. She’s been to her Kia dealership zero times.
    KIA is not the same from the 90s/2000s. You think a company that has a 20 year, 200,000 mile warranty gonna make a crap car? Think again. The “it’s a KIA” statement just shows how immature you are.

    • @comgeturs
      @comgeturs 6 лет назад +65

      No major issues in less than 3 years is not that uncommon for any brand. Problem is you bought a Dodge. Im surprised you made it out of the lot without the check engine light popping on.

  • @rogersmith3295

    Kinda makes me mad people instantly knock this car just because it's a Kia . I'll give it to you Kias and Hyundais used to be pieces of shits in the 90s and early 2000s . But they've come a long way in the last 7 or 8 years. They've stepped their game up. If you simply don't like this car cause it's a Kia you're kind of an idiot. This is a badass car. With that being said I do feel like Kia needs to make a Stinger badge different from the normal Kia badge, special for the stinger kind of like Hyundai did with the Genesis .

    • @bman1668
      @bman1668 6 лет назад +2

      I hope they realize that and change the badge in 2019 model or 2020 . They should of think about the Kia badge before releasing the stinger . Maybe they are testing waters showing people that this is Kia and this is what they are building now to upmarket the brand? Well never the less I gotta feeling they will make stinger it's own badge just like Hyundai did with Genesis

      When I set out car shopping 18 months ago, I had my parameters to fill.
      1 - $30,000 cap
      2 - Comfortable seats. That of course is subjective but I'm six foot two and have nerve damage in my legs.
      2 - Reliability and low cost of ownership.
      My 2015 Sonata Sport 2.0T Limited was on the dealer lot for over 6 months. I bought it as a leftover. Android auto, Apple carplay, heated front and rear seats with cooled front seats, blind spot detection, smart cruise control, navigation,, with the Blue Link app I can start the car from anywhere on the planet, panoramic sunroof. Basically everything except the heated steering wheel.
      Is this car or that car faster? Sure. But I didn't buy a race car. It's big, roomy, and fast enough for me. And for $27,200 out the door, what would I be driving from Germany at that price with that equipment? Some off lease used car that was under maintained by somebody who leased it. Certified or not, spending time going back and forth to the dealership with issues is not worth my time just so I can point to the emblem on the hood.

    This this was set up by Albert Biermann (former Head of BMWs M Division, the guy knows what he's doing), looks fantastic, good value for money compared to it's competitors, Kia reliability and warranty, good performance figures, people tend to get too caught up on this sometimes, I don't care if another car will go to 60mph 0.3 seconds faster, the overall feel of the car is far more important, it's been getting very good reviews from people who actually know cars etc but people still don't want to give it the time of day purely because it's a Kia?
    If you live your life blinded by badges and figures you will miss out on some pretty great cars.
    I am willing to concede that the gearbox isn't ideal, I get that it's a GT car but a proper manual would be much more enjoyable. Plus from what I've read the engines efficiency across the range isn't brilliant, which is odd for Kia. Still a great car though.

      I'm not sure about a manual making it better, and I'm a manual lover and driver. With boosted engines, the right automatics keep them under load making for better and more instant acceleration. I just drove one and was blown away by how fun and quick it was.

      I just got a 2020 AWD stinger--it is great and all the parts feel as tight as my Honda that I traded for it.BTW they did some software changes and the Korean ZF 8 speed is great.I actually just leave mine in comfort mode because it is very fast already.Even in comfort I can roast most cars off the line.Also getting on the HWY--it is 70 where I live--and I press the pedal maybe halfway down--doubt the car is even using the second turbo and it will be at triple digits easily before you even enter the hwy.It takes a split second but once both those turbos spool--you are getting the same acceleration as an American muscle car.Sport tightens the car up and adds about 800 rpms to the gear and turns the car into a bullet.It is a GT car--but it is 2020 and this car would shame all out sports cars from just a few years ago.

    • @martinbishop9042
      @martinbishop9042 6 лет назад +8

      Darren Stewart BMW hasn't made any new market share in 10 years where as Lexus and infinity have so I'm not sure what point your trying to make with that comparison. Lexus outsells BMW in the USA now Also you are anecdotal, go on ANY marketing website of the last decade and your find brand loyalty is the Bain of marketers existence now, a VERY well know problem. It has nothing to do with the little shits in your living room.

      Matt Black woooow!! Why so emotional?? 😭 did I hit a nerve?? I owned a q50 POS! Q45 POS and my wife has a GS350. big boat!! I regret telling her to buy it! She should have gone with Audi. Anyway. I left Infiniti NISSAN 2 years ago and ain’t looking back!
      Enjoy your KIA (killed in action??). And I’ll keep enjoying my M! 😝
      Check the numbers. Infiniti is not outpacing BMW... unless you add in NISSANS numbers because it’s the same damn car! Pieces of shit! Check back with me when you’re making real $$$ and can afford a decent vehicle!

    I think this car is a really great performance car for the price because the majority of all the cons mentioned were really only applicable for people wanting to use the Kia as a family car, commuter, etc. This car is definitely meant for the driving experience but it still sounds great for families or whoever doesn’t want to use its sport features and stuff. Overall looks like a really nice car

    Just purchased this car yesterday had a wonderful experience at Demontrond Automotive Group in Houston. Our salesman Fabian was extremely professional and efficient. The car (2020 GT2 Stinger white / red interior) was a dream to drive back home. After a 350 mile drive back home, here is my impressions of the vehicle. Lots of lookers and thumbs up, solid car, quick on the pedal, great mpg and quiet interior. Very smooth driving vehicle, the overall quality I liked. Awesome sound system is phenomenal. My overall experience with this car A+. First time Kia buyer here now I am sure not the last. Thanks Guys.

So much more fun to drive that the Mustang or the BMW 3 Series I was in before that. The launch control is amazing. The tech is amazing too. The fit and finish are unbelievable. Even the weight of the doors is impressive. My only complaint is the wireless charger wouldn’t fit my big ass phone. Anyone hating on Kia is stuck in the past. Can’t wait to see what the Korean companies put out next. If the Stinger isn’t s shot across the bow of all the other manufacturers, I don’t know what is.

      I don't know... they just do. Like the Ecoboost Mustang doesn't sound nearly as good as the WRX or STI but it's also a 4 banger. Maybe because it's a Boxer engine.... no idea really. I'm not saying the Eco sounds horrible... 310 HP out of a 4 banger is great... but the STI's engine sings compared to the Eco in my opinion. I was almost going to get the Eco because I had an insane deal to buy one but it got sold. I just missed out on a low miles BMW 228i as well with the M package. Lost an auction by 1 sec.

      OMG......the opinion of an anonymous internet assclown who doesn't like the profile pic of my car. I guess I'd better run out and trade it in for a more subtle earth tone color. Feel free to render yet another inconsequential opinion once I post the new pic.

      It never amazes me to see a hypersensitive male that deliberately misuses the word "anonymous" because it is quite explicit that my moniker is "Kool Acclaimed" (ignorance is a bliss).
      Also, You seemed to be dumbfounded by the three letters of "OMG" to dictate more assinine with a "grandma-like Volvo" that you think is cool with that abysmal color that you can see a mile away.

    So many people diss this car because it's built by Kia. I have owned Kias and BMWs. My Kia gave zero problems while the BMW I had before the Kia gave me a ton of maintenance problems. This were early 2000s cars, before Kia got way better at making cars. Of course the BMW was a real treat to drive but not knowing when the next big problem would pop up and how much it would cost me was not so much fun. Especially from a company that call their cars "the ultimate driving machine." I would buy a Kia Stinger in a heart beat.

      David the Stinger is a game changing car. It's performance is going to make many "luxury" (IS350 is still a Toyota) car owners uncomfortable. It's called car envy. That's why everyone is hating on it.

    I still don’t understand why KIA is hated by the younger gen like myself. I personally am more of a truck guy but I am a big fan of this new car and I’ve also looked into buying a Kia Optima, they are not bad cars at all. I have a 2010 ram 1500 Quad cab 4x4 and it moves pretty good with the 5.7 in it! But Kia is really going places and they have changed a lot since the early 2000s.

    First thing you do after getting this car: DEBADGE ALL KIA EMBLEMS

    • @humanform5354
      @humanform5354 7 лет назад +47

      What would be the point of doing that?... It's not gonna make the car any faster or perform any better. It's a KIA, removing the badge changes nothing. It will STILL be a KIA, no matter how you slice it. Would buy one of these in a heartbeat, KIA badge and all, if I didn't already have a vehicle....
