I don't disagree... but there's quite a few bands that use a heavily textured sound that doesn't seem to come through well on KEXP, but still sound good live in other venues or "live-in-studio settings"
KEXP just doesnt know how to process his vocal in a way that reflects the record. Its also a live session. There is not way it should sound as good as the record
I think they sound good.
