The Tata Sumo Gold is a ladder-frame sport utility vehicle produced by Indian automaker, Tata Motors. The Victa was launched in 2004 as a replacement for the Tata Spacio, offering newly-designed interiors and exteriors.

Sumo gold is most safe and strongest vehicle in the car and so much spacious.
Now the price of sumo gold has been increased drastically even though tata has done a cost cutting technique by removing some designed and accessories parts originally in the car(e.g. sticker on the sides) , I bought a sumo gold cr4 last year, it cost just around 7 lakhs with full sumo gold parts

well! i have driven this suv. it is best on papers only. drawbacks are- Heavy body roll(literally Scary), very long gear throw, poor leg room in first and middle row(i was surprised the most by this fact), poor plastic quality.
pros of this SUV~ Very small turning radius, power full engine, powerfull AC.

Somo was and still much better than bolero. Body roll is much lesser than bolero so pahado me bolero ki tarah ulti nahi aati. Suspension bahot he badhiya hai sumo ka. But tata has not improved the looks, interiors and engine like mahindra did for bolero. No major facelift was provided. Hence, bolero beats it by huge margin.

my office driver always used to praise sumo. .. i travelled quite a bit,, the pull of this car is amazing.......looks like train engine is pulling...... torque torque and more torque...... if not on high speed then ride quality was also amazing..... so planted........ body roll was there around corners but ride quality at low speed and pull power was even better than the like of Toyota and Mahindra............. real power horse....... !

Secondly a company's contribution to the country is not determined by making "supercar". Infact most supercar builders are small companies. Toyota is the largest company and they don't build supercars.

Boxy design, manual gearbox, manual windows, steelies. Nothing you see here nowadays. Everything here now is so pointlessly flashy. All talk, no show. I'd drive the Sumo anytime. It just looks comfortable and spacious.
@@ToyotaTechnical Hell yeah though this one doesn't come with 4x4, the company did make 4x4 versions before the facelift and there was even an option of a commercial unit 3.0l mercedes 407 sourced diesel engine. Later iteration included a turbocharged version known as the dicor 3.0 which made 300nm of torque. If they make them once again with a 4x4, the turbocharged dicor 3.0 and safety features such as ABS, ESC and airbags, it would be a killer combo for Africa and Australia.

I don't even have a shit about this box till I ride and drove this vehicle in the jungle of Assam where there is no road big pot holes muddy pathh more than 45deg steep path Rocky trenchs. It goes every where now I do respect this hunk a lot Jai Tata sump. Mr ratan Tata won't even have imagined where this hunk can go where we have taken this boy..

Hi, mere pass Sumo Gold EX CR 4 2012 model hai, 60000 kms driven, it's a best car for indian off roads and big family, seats are very comfortable, AC is Best, overall usability is Best.
I am Mechanical engineer by the way, and I know technical specifications very well. 3.0 Litre engine is not a joke!!!
I was wondering every time when the Road construction or bad roads going on ahead, and other cars slow down, i drove Sumo at a constant high speeds on bad roads without any worry and then it feels like it's a true car for indian roads.
I don't care what other people think about this car, they thought sumo is only taxi image, but now a days innovas, Mercedes, BMW, even Rolls Royce is used as a taxi for big hotels in metropolitan cities in India.

kARTechnology you can go any Tata Showroom for test drive, the noise inside the cabin is very low as compared to DI vehicle.
Try to go for GX model, it has power windows and Roof mounted AC
lol tried in tamilnadu and andhra pradesh, no one has the td vehicle...
its not about the noise, the pulling power...in di the low end torque in so huge that you dont even need the first gear.
i see, the sumo gold has lots of cost cutting, bonnet insulation, engine top cover, steering logo is not like the old one, the GX odometer is so lame...TRYES DOWNSIZED TO 15" FROM 16"...I had victa di GX since 2011 to now, sold it few months back and now regretting, and not able to decide a sumo or a scoprio/safari...already own a safari 3.0 (the sumo gold has the same engine but a different tuning setup)
the safaro 3.0 has to be driven aggressively only > 1800 rpm the car acts like a beast...or else there will be booming noise in the cabin..
thats why need a TD before i buy or i might regret if i dont like...the old victa di sumo cant do > 100 all day..but rugged..too much cost cutting in new sumo..need to talk more.
