The lyrics really ruined my experience of a great instrumental. The story the lyrics provide sound like the narrator has low emotional intelligence and can't tolerate feedback. The narrator wants to ignore the reality of the situation while making the subject of the story responsible for the narrator's emotional state. The narrator drowning in their own tears would be a self inflicted death. In a healthy relationship each party is responsible for their own emotional state. The narrator not wanting to talk about the problem while forcing their emotional lability on the subject of the story shows a considerable lack of emotional reciprocity. The narrator drowning in their tears sounds like just deserts.
