Mark Felton told the story of the first dambusters (Guy Gibson in there) with Hampdens. Brave as brave can be. Can that be done. Especially the German canal?
Spare a thought for that poor German mechanic. Not just one, not just two, but *four* planes by the same pilot have innumerable types of damage. Can you imagine how that conversation went that day after everyone settled down? (Picture a German accent.) Mechanic: "What the hell are you doing to my planes? This will take me all day tomorrow to fix those four planes!" Cap: "Termites." Mechanic: "Termites don't eat metal! And you blew a perfectly good engine!" Cap: "Bad oil?" Mechanic: *incoherent screaming*
The one at 29:45 (where you comment "What the H kind of flying is that?") did my favourite move. Chop the throttle and reverse (i.e. stop pumping energy into the turn), then open up and slip away. You could see already before the guy can fly from how he could anticipate and disrupt your shooting pattern. Good stick.
Nice to see the weather having an actual impact on the tactics. Just watched _Dunkirk_ the other day. When I first watched it when the film came out, I thought it was cool and exciting. Now it just feels personal, painful, maybe even a bit traumatic to watch. I guess I can feel them now.
@@sharkoftheskies3256 I used to love shooter games, ever since I was a kid. Clocked thousands of hours in Battlefield, Call of Duty, CS:GO and all that. I deleted all of those games after the war started. That part of me just, died.
Great vid cap. Not sure if you’ve heard the technique of doing S-turns during taxi? That’s what all irl tail wheel pilots do, and not just in warbirds! Should help you see where you’re going better!
Seems strange the gerries being briefed at the same meeting as our brave raf boys ...surely they would be on a regular patrol unaware of the impending operation until they found our boys or had some sort of early warning...did gerry have some sort of radar at this point in the war?
Glad to see the respect the plywood wonder engenders in even the virtual world . If you have ever heard the song of twin merlin's you will understand .
Those takeoffs...looks like the Germans and the Brits just stumbled out of the pub. And did those planes really take off in the weeds like that? Doesn't seem ideal for the landing gear, the spine, or any dental work.
Hey Guys, Ive been watching dcs Content for a min and finally got myself a somewhat decent Gaming pc - good bye ACE combat - due to cost reduction i use my t flight hotas PlayStation model for dcs… now here is my problem: the throttle is Not being recognized in the Settings for all FC3 Planes ive bought… does anyone have a hint for ne how i can bind my throttle or do i Need to get a seperat throttle for it be recognized? Thanks
For me that wasn't the most thrilling of episodes. I would rather watch the RAF flights completing their mission than having to watch the Luftwaffe lurk over the RAF objective with absolute certainty that this was the only allied target on this day in the whole of Northern France. The Luftwaffe under Cap was tightly organised whilst the RAF drifted in piecemeal only to be slaughtered in dribs and drabs. I very rarely criticise GR directly but this one was a letdown. Sorry Cap.

Cap, these missions always make my day. Keep them coming
I love Matrix's briefings, can almost imagine the room with the pilots in 🙂
"I've got a bigger Schnitzel than you!"
Wow, you gotta love SuperCap! 😂👍
Maintenance is gonna be pissed when they find out how many planes cap lost.
Yup, this is normal for me.

Isn't dunkirk the one with the magic spitfire?
@@Daniel-yh9dz yea it sucks for them. At least russia is losing

Really? I always assumed it was to warm up the tyres before the takeoff, like Formula 1 drivers.
@@watcherzero5256 lol. Can't tell if you are sarcastic? Just trying to help since he always says he has trouble seeing where to taxi on the warbirds!

Always nice to know exactly what the other fellow is going to do.
If there was a german brief it would just be fly shouting from a lecturn with his fringe flopping about. Nein nein nein!!!

@36:10 …… I hope your warranty is under 12 months and still valid 😂
That cloud is called cloudius fluffius
I thought that ones name was Herbert, but we might have been looking at different places.
Cap spent more time on the beach in this mission than he does when on holiday.
Spends more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff.
It’s a great day!

Suggestion G.R., next aircraft fighter, to display is the Koren War P-F USN Panther.
I would hate to be on the wrong end of those spitfires guns
the port was over cast Cumulus, and Stratocumulus, you shook your valued head too much to get the altitudes
Is there some reason the allied never organize an attack and just come in 1 at a time? Didn't even need fighter cover with that much ground fire....
Yeh that was pretty foolish.
Are these missions built in? If not, is there some way to get them?
The reason this is a mission is because they have a bunch of human players....This is extremely basic from a mission editor stand point....
The respawns seemed a little unfairly weighted.
These aircraft would be easier to get off the ground if wing laps where deployed (if available to the game?)
Can't see a fucking thing on the ground. It's to dark.
But I did enjoy your video:)

Interesting though.
