Wow, great review, thanks, I wish your review was the one Mystery Ranch showed on their website or at least had yours at the top of the review search results. I can't believe how many reviews (including the Mystery Ranch) that didn't show how deep the pack was. I couldn't determine if the main pouch went all the way down or if those two lower pockets were deep. Thanks!!! (And "Thule" is "Two-Lee")
Thank you George for the outstanding review. I have been on the fence about getting this pack because I have been burned before outlaying $$$ and finding it too small. All the other reviews I have seen just showed the pack and pouches. Finally .... a review has the depth and shows in reality what the pack can fit. Not only that, but love the gear you have in it and am sourcing some of that too! Have subscribed to keep update with your gear reviews. Thank you again!
George, thank you for such a detailed review of this pack. Like all your reviews, you hit all the important points with close ups, materials and size comparison using personal items. But most of all...you show a real laptop for size comparison and not a damn Apple that everyone knows will fit in almost any pocket ha. Thank you sir!
I'd LOVE if he really zoomed in on the Stitching, especially around the straps. Most reviews dont give enough info on the main stitch areas. That's always what fails first
Hi George, happy to share with you after using around 80 packs, I think I find my favorite, the AEL027 from alchemy equipment. Just have everything that I like. Definitely check it and I bet you'll enjoy it.
Nice review. Currently considering this pack and your video of the internals let me know this bag would likely work for my needs. I want to use it for a photography setup.
I'd get the brown one and add some Helikon Tex Sere, bottle, E&E, or Essential kitbag pouches to the sides. Then add a Helikon tex wombat on the top molle.
Excellent pack with flexibility. EDC, Photography, Travel, overnighter/weekender depending on your needs, day-hiker, Bushcrafting, etc. I will customize mine with two pals webbing/daisy chain rows on the bottom(for a larger tripod) with a couple of grommet holes on the bottom of the pack between the customized daisy chains. Also, on the daisy chain that's in the center of the back of the pack, I would've dropped the bottom loop and placed a matching grab handle there like Kifaru does. Those were only a few misses and that's JMO. Everyone's needs are different. Great review. Trying to order one now. Scored!!!!! 32L L/XL wood color.
Whoa! For 239 bones, every single strap needs strap keepers. The two rip pockets in the front shouldve been where the admin section is, one side for pens and pencils notepad, and the other side for keys and whatnot. Thanks for sharing. One.
An admin pouch on the lower front or some pals webbing to attach one would have improved this bag imo. I don’t want to access the interior to get to an admin pouch and the interior organization isn’t adequate imo
I really enjoy your reviews and your attention to detail, thanks for another great one! Im hoping you can get your hands on the new Kifaru Checkpoint bag to get your take on it!
Nice review. Just came across this bag and about to pull the trigger. Looking to replace my North Face Recon with another EDC/Travel/Commuter bag. Be using for long bike rides, trips to library, hike/camps, and travel. Also, I believe Thule is pronounced "too-lee" ...
I see that this pack is sitting up on your table. One of the things I HATE the most about my North Face bags is that they flop over on their front. Does this bag flop over in everyday use? Thanks!
Great job as always! Mystery ranch has cool stuff. (I’m spoiled with high vis interiors now, so it’s hard to get something without it, and I like my admin panel in its own pocket so all the little stuff isn’t getting in the way when I’m chucking big stuff in and out) Great work man!
Hey! Love the video. Have a question if you could help, would mean a lot. Is the big outer pocket on 24L Rip Ruck(one with magnetic closure) safe for keeping things like headphones? My only doubt is if they will fall outside quickly and if the magnetic lock mechanism is hard enough to open, for a thief standing behind in a metro? Thanks
Do you find the pockets a little too narrow on the front and sides? I struggle to get my hands into them. Wish they gave the pockets more fabric to get it more "3D".
Looks like an awesome pack but I would only it take it to work cause the pack is to military looking. Also that Thule power pack is the best,I have it for 3 weeks and love it thanks for the recommendation.
Nice review - as always.... But this thing ? a Backpack Marketing hype made around two little Pockets, a complicated opening mechanism.... they make better stuff
Hi George, this is a bit separate from the backpack, but I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I was just wondering what you thought about your dell XPS 15. Pros cons and etc. was trying to get a new laptop and was debating the XPS. Thanks!
I can’t decide between this and the 3 day assault cl. I need a pack for work as a private investigator. So I need room for tablet, laptop, camera and clothes/bathroom stuff for impromptu out of town trips. But I also want it to be able to double as a backpacking pack for an overnight trip. Any advice between these two packs man? Ignoring the price of both also in the advice.
Is the 32L really their Medium? It looks kinda big on you already from the back shots. Cannot imagine how much larger the large would be if that’s the medium
Where does the extra gun go? Guess it’s only for carrying soi and quinoa. Personally IMO the admin section should be accessed from the outside. Why do I need to open and expose the main compartment just to get a pen or car keys? This is not edc, it’s a 1 or 2 day bag. Another great video George, but they needed to send you a worthy bag to review, this is just an average ordinary bag.
After packing my GORUCK 40L GR2 as a bug out bag, I really appreciate the extra PALS webbing in this pack. This definitely looks like a functional pack. I don't like the aesthetics but is looks like a working pack. However, I do wish the side dump pockets had a back passthrough like the old 3DAP I have as it's useful for stowing longer items like trekking poles or tripods. I could see the front rip pockets for stowing a small IFAK (probably too short for the ITS Tallboy), or a tourniquet or even a small radio. The side pockets under the PALS webbing seem generous, but I bet they share volume with the interior volume, which isn't ideal. Glad they brought the Spade Lock system over to this ruck. I don't mind the backpanel being the way it i but agree molded channels would be nice as the mesh in the 3DAP backpanel gets really torn up over time and scratched. If the hip belt is anything like the 3DAP, it will take up volume from the interior. I hope they didn't do that.
Hi George, I have been enjoying your entertaining and thoughtful reviews. I was a fan of Dana Design and K2 and I like the quality and care that goes into the Mystery Ranch packs. Not sure about the aesthetics of this one. Maybe I’ll get used to it? Pricey but MR is generally worth the premium price IMO. Also, it is not set up for a hydration bladder so maybe this is intended mostly for commuters?
George DEFINED George, I have been thinking about the MR 3-day assault BVS pack but I’ve read that MR redesigned the pack a few years ago and some people don’t care for the new version as much as the original. Any thoughts? Any recommendation for a 30-ish liter MR pack for day hikes, light overnight camping and travel use? Do you think any of their hunting or military packs might be a good choice for that kind of use?
What is it with those ridicilously tiny openings on the small pockets? Also not a fan of the main opening that has stuff easily falling out. I feel like they are trying to reinvent the wheel here...
I'm 17 minutes in, I'm laying down now, I know this price is gonna make me cry.
Love your mix of specifics like weight, fabrics, zippers, and not sweating the unrealistic concerns, like the gap when zippers come together.
A man after my own heart. You hit all the right points. Excellent review.
From Russia with love, man. Amazing.

Another great review from you George. You are becoming my go to channel for back pack reviews. Thanks for your dedication and detail.
Outstanding man! I just ordered mine. I dig the retro ALICE style and FWIW I was able to order a large. Great review.
A brilliant review…loads of detail…better than most ..for information…. Ric ..Scotland
Ya I do wish they had Singh straps on the side where the stretch pockets are just for added secure locking options
Thank you George for the outstanding review. I have been on the fence about getting this pack because I have been burned before outlaying $$$ and finding it too small. Thanks just bought one based on your excellent quality review
I agree with you that more attention to detail on housekeeping (strap keepers)
Great review, glad this popped up for me.
32 is pretty big and with a little forethought, excellent potential for carrying everything and the kitchen sink
Hi George, happy to share with you after using around 80 packs, I think I find my favorite, the AEL027 from alchemy equipment. Just have everything that I like. Definitely check it and I bet you'll enjoy it.
Thanks for the suggestion
You very creative vloging. Humorous start. Nice George 👍
Thank you for your videos! Great, honest, thorough reviews.
It's a smart looking pack, 4 minutes in I've sat myself on the floor so I don't hurt myself when you get to the price...
Right.. everything is going up execept my paycheck.. Be Safe
Nice review. Currently considering this pack and your video of the internals let me know this bag would likely work for my needs. I want to use it for a photography setup.
I have a 32 liter pack with tones of organization it's the vanquest trident 32 in multicam black!
Man that is definitely a nice pack! I’ve never had a mystery ranch but I may have to pick this up
I love that old school tablet cover! I remember using those notebooks in the 90's in middle school 🤣
Here because of the rip ruck. Dig the channel though. Definitely just subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
tysm for reviewing this.
Dang it George! I ended up getting the eberlestock switchblade and I love it. I dig this mystery ranch layout.
I came over from TPP on Facebook and I'm glad I did. Subscribed! I usually have zero interest in an admin pocket, but this one looks well done.
Very thorough review. Excellent.
always got them fire beatz going man love it

Awesome review George! Recent subscriber but really enjoying your style of videos. Don't see videos on Mystery Ranch products all too much.
I just did one.. and I have one there best packs coming up

Great review, funny intro lol. This bag looks solid

I want all the Kifaru bags..lol
Nice review. Just came across this bag and about to pull the trigger. Looking to replace my North Face Recon with another EDC/Travel/Commuter bag. Be using for long bike rides, trips to library, hike/camps, and travel.

Right on
Good review as always
Love your reviews George! Keep it up!
Aren’t the two thin straps on the shoulder straps for the low lifter strap management? Awesome vids and pack!! 👍👍
I love your content! Keep it up!!!
hello man! congratulations for the video!
All very nice!! 🤙🏼 a greeting from Italy!
Good review. Thank you!
Awesome review and well made video dude
Great video as always. I was looking at this for a small camera bag...apparently I misjudged the size a bit.
I think its crazy that they didn't put any Molle in the bottom. It would really add to its usefulness.
high vis lining is very underrated
I see that this pack is sitting up on your table. One of the things I HATE the most about my North Face bags is that they flop over on their front. Does this bag flop over in everyday use? Thanks!
This should be evaluated and commented on in any serious bag review
Bought it on Amazon in black, thanks
Nice. I have the smaller EDC version of this and it’s great. I’ve been looking for a midsize pack to take with me on day hikes.
Can I put a camel pack in this?
Really enjoy your reviews. Hope you can review the Brown Buffalo Conceal Backpack.
I have to safe my $$.. I have been wanting that pack for a while. Be safe
If you must choose, this bag or 2 Day Assault?
2DAP
Great job as always! Mystery ranch has cool stuff. (I’m spoiled with high vis interiors now, so it’s hard to get something without it, and I like my admin panel in its own pocket so all the little stuff isn’t getting in the way when I’m chucking big stuff in and out)
Great work man!
Nice start 😝
Would you choose this over the 2DAP for everyday ?
Good review, appreciate
The main compartment is also a rip pocket.
Great review! Went to the website but it’s not up yet. Gonna order it as soon as it is!
It's up now! Be Safe
I have about 7 of thier packs....looks like I need another.
great review!
Nice seeing the reversion of this backpack, would you do a review on the new the north face Pivoter? Trying to make a decision on these two backpack.
Stay tuned :-) Be Safe
They need to put molle on the bottom and it'd be perfect
Dope video. Dope bag too bro.
Thanks
I never had the 24L.. so I couldn't speak to it. Sorry
love it
I think the original looks better. Both are nice though. Great review
great video man thanks
Hi George, how does the rip ruck compare to the 2 day or 3 day assault pack?
I like the fabric on the 2 Day better.. The fabric on the Rip Ruck is softer and I am not the hugest fan on the way it opens compared to the 2 DAP
Great Review 👍🏻
I think it’s the first pack you didn’t review in black 🤔
Do you find the pockets a little too narrow on the front and sides? I struggle to get my hands into them. Wish they gave the pockets more fabric to get it more "3D".
They are on the tight side.. I can put small stuff in but really nothing larger than a can of coke.
The rip ruck 24 is almost perfect but it's missing a water bottle pocket
Isnt that fabric, also called Dynema? They make ultra light tents from it, if it is
Dynema is different.. I have used that on hiking tents
I want one so bad bro it’s like a low pro edc bag
George please review 24L version of this bag
Thanks for the suggestion.. I will try
Very strange that your channel doesn't have TAD axiom 24 review
I will get there.. That pack is like $350
Looks like an awesome pack but I would only it take it to work cause the pack is to military looking. Also that Thule power pack is the best,I have it for 3 weeks and love it thanks for the recommendation.
Nice review - as always....
But this thing ?
a Backpack Marketing hype made around two little Pockets, a complicated opening mechanism....
they make better stuff
Between the rip ruck and 2 day assault which would you pick?
2 Day Assault hands down..
George, EDC Mystery ranch two day Aslt vs EDC 24L or this?
If it was me.. 2Day Hands down😏
Hi George, this is a bit separate from the backpack, but I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I was just wondering what you thought about your dell XPS 15. Pros cons and etc. was trying to get a new laptop and was debating the XPS. Thanks!
It's great! Upgraded it to 32gb and 1TB. If I was to do it again I would look at one with no less than 32gb and 1 TB hard drive.

3 DAP hands down!! In a word Excellent! IF you don't mind the molle
@@GeorgeDEFINED I went with the 3dap. Thanks!
Meet carry-on size requirements?
Yes, but double check the website for measurements.
I still prefer the 1st version of the Rip Ruck..aesthetically nicer looking . Looks more streamlined n more of an ode to the old school Alice pack.
Why didn’t you show how the waist belt looked stowed away? Missed opportunity...
20.5” x 12.5” x 12” (according to Mystery Ranch website)
Thanks I took a ruler to it..
Is the 32L really their Medium? It looks kinda big on you already from the back shots. Cannot imagine how much larger the large would be if that’s the medium
This is the largest of the three they came out with..
The 32L comes in a S/M and L/XL. Same size bag but different size body pieces, I believe.
Cordura is generally stronger but heavier
$239!!!
Nice intro😂
Great review. Did you review the first version of the Rip Ruck?
I never looked at the first version... That would be a good comparison video.. Be Safe
No ccw compartment
Nope..lol
😩💦 Backpack reviews get me goin'

I didn't notice the hip belt taking up room. hmmm Be Safe
I'd buy today if they'd only fix their back panels so they're not sweat factories. MR seems to pay no attention to that.
