The violin in real life is extremely piercing; it'll cut through an orchestra with - I wouldn't say ease, but how else do you think violin concertos work? So it can hold its own very well next to a piano and certainly a double bass.
I see that violin is probably amplified, these three instruments can't play with equal sound unamplified?
