I'm in the DEP program. Its fairly interesting and it gives me the feeling of excitment and wonder, because you think to yourself, "Will my Air Force recruiter call me today for a job?" I've only been in DEP for two weeks now. I've focused on that, working out for bmt, and watching your videos and other peoples videos to give me an encite on what to expect and how to prepare myself for bmt.
binge watching all of your vids and looking forward to more of it in the future. I am aiming to join the air force but all I have is fear. Thank you for your contents, it helps a lot
Dude i've been stressing about going to basics and not being able to handle it. the fact that you only went to the gym twice before bmt is SO funny. Gives me hope that you still made it through! Less stress on my behalf
Thank you for your videos bro. I’m working shift night at shoprite store. And listening to you. I’m 33 years old from New Jersey and this year I’m gonna join Air Force active duty. Thank you again 🙏🏻
I’ve been subscribed to you for about a year and I love your channel! Very helpful and useful. Swore into the DEP program two weeks ago and have my first call tomorrow. I wish it was only a 30 min drive but I have to drive about 2 hours !! 😅 I also have my background Investigation appointment in the morning as well! I put that the soonest I could leave was in March and I’m wondering if that’s why my process is kinda going quickly. I’m also wanting security forces and I know there’s always a job slot for that job. This is all exciting but also kinda scary
Hahaha yes, that desired ship month def. would put things in the fast lane and also preferencing security forces should cause you to lock in a job pretty quickly comparatively! Best of luck at BMT when its your time to roll out! :D
Awesome to hear, Sir! Enjoy the last few weeks/months of freedom but don't forget to go on a few runs from time to time and maybe pump out some push-ups to be ready and set to go!
Your level of involvement in DEP is entirely up to you and your recruiter really. A monthly chit chat with your recruiter at a time which works for you and them is a totally acceptable level of engagement for someone working a full-time job (in my opinion)!
Keep busy and work towards a few personal goals! (Finishing a book or book series, learning a new skill, or even finishing a course or certificate you think would be useful on a site such as Khan Academy)
Hey Roslyn, I am unsure because I graduated before the 2020 situation began but I believe the monthly calls are now virtual and working out is encouraged by your recruiter and you do it on your own time prior to shipping out
Very informative video. I do want to recap on something about if you're in the DEP Program before shipping you have to go through Meps again is that correct? If so could you give me more details with the physical aspect or what they look for a Meps for a 2nd time
Hey Jarvius, no problem! MEPS1 (the first time you go) is to initially medically qualify so expect all the various tests and then to swear into DEP. MEPS2 at its core is to swear you into active duty and then send you to basic training. Thus at MEPS2 they are primarily verifying that there has been no change in your health (ex. take your weight, temperature, and ask you if you're still in tip-top condition). Hope this helps, thank you for the support, and check out my meps videos for a more in-depth explanation of the two! :)
I'm in Dep right now my physical was hella good and my asvab score was a 80. Just waiting to sign a job hopefully I dont wait like 6 months. Do you think I'll ship earlier than everyone due to my score being higher and my physical from meps being very good??
One factor that may shorten your DEP time might be that you qualify for a larger range of jobs so that should increase your likelihood of finding a match just a little bit sooner.

Avg DEP time is 4-6 months especially for those general and administrative jobs. Good luck Recruits

Don’t be afraid you can do it

I’m 34 in the process of joining. How are things going for you? Did you end up joining?

Very well put together video with clear and concise info. Not many of these out there. Well done! Thanks for creating and sharing :).

I leave April 13th
Cyber systems operations 💪🏻
Nice how much you scored on the asvab?? Is it because you did well on the cyber test ?
Since I currently work an 40 hr a week job, what sort of tips does anyone have to keep active in DEP until my second swearing in ceremony.

i thought they needed 30 days to transfer the files and prepare everything but they seem to be doin all dat in 12 days and i know leave Sep. 4. 23
Currently in DEP and my BMT is not until march next year. The wait begins.
Keep busy and work towards a few personal goals! (Finishing a book or book series, learning a new skill, or even finishing a course or certificate you think would be useful on a site such as Khan Academy)
ship september 7th 2021
How you got a ship date so far ahead?
Can I do DEP even if I don't meet the physical requirements yet? I still need to lose another 50 pounds 😟
Am I able to pick my ship date 7 months from now regardless of what job I choose and or get
That would require some logistics I bet so a recruiter would be the best person suited to see if thats a possibility!
Are they still doing monthly calls during this time or you have to just work out on your own

Thanks Michael, I appreciate your response to answering my question
@@michaelainman I'll subscribe and watch your other videos
Forgot to ask how long was your DEP?
“I planned...” lol
How long did you have to wait?
Greetings, Drake, I waited 4 - 5 months but the length of time in-waiting varies from person to person.

Yeah, at least you planned for it 😂
