A wonderful, almost therapeutic, instructive video with lots of useful hints and tips. Can't wait to try some out on my images. Keep them coming Jamie.
I've just found this channel and subscribed. I've learnt such a lot from this video, and iam looking forward to watching more. I've really enjoyed watching this LR masterclass. Thank You
Thank you John. Have a look at my back catalogue, I have almost 100 videos in total covering many different techniques. I am always open to questions or comments 😀
I love, love, love this one. As a matter of fact, it may be my favorite ever! In my mind, I can imagine William Shakespeare walking towards us on the road on the left side OR I can imagine Winston Churchill walking towards us on the sidewalk on the right, carrying a folded umbrella in his left hand, and chomping down on a cigar in his mouth holding it with his right hand. Mary will flip out over this. She'll be showing it to everyone she knows and will be beaming with pride. What a masterpiece!!
Thank You - excellent video! Usually watch your video the day it comes available. With all the storms we had in the Southern States, been having trouble with internet/ cell service and now catching up on my favorite creators. Keep your videos coming and Thanks Again for your teaching skills and dedication.
As this video shows, the workshop was a great success. We learned how to anticipate the result of the photo even before clicking it. In addition to details that can turn a simple photo into a true masterpiece. All complemented with hours of post-treatment. It was 10 days of great learning, accompanied by beer, good food and great conversations. And all of this, in the beautiful English medieval cities. Excellent work Jimie!!!!
Thank you RUclips gods, I have never seen any of your content before Jamie and thats definitly my loss as this video, as a first time viewer, was very high quality and easy to understand. I am a returning photographer having taken a good few years out and I've found this one video to be very imformative, extremely well narrated and the technical edits are really beautifully explained. A really great first piece for me to have recommended by RUclips! I cant wait to look at some more from your back catalogue and see what else I can learn from you as well as enjoy the very relaxing timbre of your commentary. Thank you (not just the RUclips gods) for this fantastic workflow and so many little tips and tricks that you've reminded me of as well as the new features Adobe have brought in that you've shown me how to use correctly.
Jamie, I have just found you while searching for - this very thing. Brilliant masterclass without the overenthusiastic screaming into the microphone which we often get! Thank you for your time and expertise.
So good job. Is it possible to do some of this only with a program like capture one, or definitely it is necessary to use both: Light room and photoshop. Thanks.
Thanks for the question; the truth is that anything is possible, however, I use LR & PS for the simple reason that there is no other software suite that contains all of the tools I like to use, this includes the ability to have 'plug-ins' to cover off some of the more specialised pieces of software such as the incredible Silver Efex Pro from the DXO Nik collection. The masking options and capabilities are (which you will note from my videos) so interactable and flexible, something that I have not been able to find in any other piece of software. I am a fan of many pieces of software such as Capture One, Luminar Neo and DXO's Nik Collection Photo Labs, but LR & PS currently remain my go to 😀
Another great and informative video 😀 spotted it late last night but wanted to save it for this morning with a cuppa and a biscuit l think l hav3 watched most of your videos and learn something each time and there are many days out where l look to shoot buildings with intent of making a day to night conversion l’m also quite fortunte to liv3 quite rural and in a elevated location so l get some great skies and are building up quite a collection of stormy, sun rise and sun set skies for use in my attempts at day to night so many thanks for your inspiration and sharing your knowledge hopefully I’ll manage to get on one of your workshops and say thank you in person ….. until them Thank You!
Thank you for your kind words. I am very happy to hear that you will be trying these techniques 😀 My workshop plan for 2025 will be released towards the end of this month...
I love your day to night videos . Were I live there is no old gas light type lighting in our streets , could you do some thing with a modern lighting type set up .
Great job, I live in some older town in Germany too and you inspired me to do just the same (in a much more amateurish way), and I just loved the outcome, so I printed it in DinA2, thanks for your inspiration!
It makes me very happy to know that you have been inspired to follow my style, remember practice makes perfect, and if you are having fun then you have mastered photography 😀
Superb video Jamie, really helpful - learned loads of little things from it as well. One thing, it's Control 'Zed' - not Control 'Zee.' You're not a Septic! 😆
Love your videos Jamie. - Just wondering, with so many people currently switching away from Adobe products if you have any plans to use any other editing suites for some of your future videos? It would be interesting to see if this technique is even possible in something like Luminar NEO.
@@keithdraycott I do use Neo, but for day to night it is very challenging, as the masking function are nothing like as flexible. There is no real alternative to Lightroom and photoshop they are just to good !
The remove tool and clone tool, as well as the patch tool can be used without a direct connection to the Adobe servers, so worth exploring what tools you have available to you.

Thanks for another great transformation. Why are you cropping always to 16 x 10 and not 16 x 9 like other photographers?
thanks for the question, I find that 16/9 can be a little to panorama'ish, and the 16/10 is a ratio my printer uses 🙂
OK !
😀
Curious what lens mm you used.
It's says in the top left of the screen Canon RF 14-35 f4L is
I think it was 14mm taken with my RF 14-35mm F4
Yeah , great as always, but this ai , generative in ps , its something i cant use cos there is no subscription for my country for adobe.
