Was there any implications that one of the villagers were actually responsible for what happened to the Navarro house? I always assumed it was just an unfortunate freak accident due to how sickly Luis' grandfather had gotten.

@@CM11l the man who decided to light Luis' house on fire was either the villages chief before mendez or mendez himself (i cant remember). This was because Luis' grandfather was bit by a wolf with the parasite (this infected him i believe). To prevent the "madness" from spreading, the villagers led by one of the mentioned chiefs lit the house on fire, and Luis ran away after that. (They weren't trying to burn Luis, he watched with them outside but was scared i think)
@@bEtHeSdA_LAME_sTuDi0s Being sick with something as dangerous as the plagas has already shown that it in its early stages, people's physical capabilities are somewhat hindered with random fits of coughs accompanied with blood, and that's the latest mutation of the plagas, who knows how harmful and riskier the older versions of the parasite were during Navarro Sr.'s time.
Considering how the old the Navarro property is, it's not that much of a stretch to consider that due to his illness, the old man may have accidentally knocked a lantern and caused a small fire that blazed into burning the house down, and since the only two members within the house are a sickly old man and a kid, both of whom probably can't put out a fire fast enough especially in a house made mostly of out wooden materials.
@@CM11l it was premeditated. Luis's Grandfather was wounded by an weirdly resilient Wolf (infected with Las Plagas), and was starting to get sick. An recently appointed Chief Vitorez Mendez was instructed by Luis's Grandfather (as per the text "-you know what to do. -i simply nodded", found in the Chief's attic IIRC) to burn his house with him on it to stop the desease spreading.

I love how they reflected the character's panache and flashes of resourcefulness in the moveset. Luis might not be a trained operative, but he knows how to put his wits to good use, and the visual language shows it very well

Seriously. It was baffling that he wasn't in the original Mercenaries game mode when he definitely deserved his place there after the cabin defense moment. No hate on HUNK but I personally feel like he's out of place in RE4 Mercenaries since he had no involvement in the main story.
@@nicholascauton9648 HUNK being out of place is what made him a cool special guest especially with his op Neck Breaker ability. HUNK being in RE4 Mercs was like a homage to RE2 4th Survivor. I agree with you on Luis not being added in og RE4 Mercs, super disappointing.
They should make Luis and all the other Merc characters playable in a special Story Mode
@@hachelyd_i3232 the simple fact is that its a bs mini game for pure fun. There is no "out of place" just cause it's a mercenaries for re4. In my opinion they should make as many characters frlm the re universe as they can appear and it'd help the game that much more. Throw in 1998 Claire and Leon. Throw in RODRIGO from code Veronica. Thets what I mean. No way it would be out of place to have us play as as many characters as we want

For working for Umbrella, obviously. He clearly feels guilty about what he developed and contributed to at Umbrella. He even says that helping Leon helps ease his guilt a bit.

Glad they added Luis! Another character they should add, just for fun, would be the Merchant and his "selection of good things"!
Merchant's toolkit would be something like:
- Rocket Launcher
- Fully upgraded bolt thrower with dozens of mines
- Handcannon
- 2 Golden Eggs
- Chicago Sweeper
Mayhem Mode: All weapons get reloaded once and are upgraded to highest tier for the duration of the bar (Handcannon and Sweeper don't have infinite ammo during this btw)

I like how Luis got the lance and his theme is really badass! Already my favorite character.
Wish capcom makes DLC where he survives as in he was in coma and not dead since we saw him pass out after the stab and cameback to save Leon despite his injury, he could be in another coma, other chars survived worse.
Imagine him making Nemesis 2 where Luis can control it through a parasite to beat other BOWs, we get to play as the freaking Nemesis beating other BOWs with Luis and his majestic Red9 doing cool stuff with his giant companion.
According to RE4R Luis was willing to take the dominant plaga for himself to control other plaga creatures to beat Saddler, so the concept already has great potential and it'd be a wasted opportunity if capcom don't bring Luis back with a survival twist.
The way they retconned Luis story with his tragic childhood and being ex Umbrella scientist makes him an important wildcard in the remake verse that adds more interesting scenarios plotwise, he's too good to die in one game.

There has been some trols going around and saying that wesker and ada have been cut from mercenaries, dont trust them, it has been alread confirmed by the game files that these carachters are in mercenaries, if you see one of these trols just ignorei, their life is alread sad
Just because shes in the game files with some lines of code doesn't mean she's actually playable. Word is she's not. Major outlets reporting this so I doubt it's BS. We'll see tho.
You know "planned content" isn't the same as finished. They may have started but until I as the customer know if they did or not. I am flying blind on what is and isn't present.

@@Cshizzle94 there has been DLC tagged in the files as Ada being the playable character. Also many datamine leaks also show Ada and Wesker being playable in Mercenaries, with each one having a description tag like Leon, Krauser, Hunk and Luis have in game for Mercenaries as well which is also datamined to be free as well.
Wesker in particular has been fished out of the in game files and he currently doesn't work properly as some of his melee moves don't hit, most of them being re animiated from RE5 along with a few new ones.
But the real question is: Are the Separate Ways DLC will be a paid DLC though???

@@carlosalbertoocamposortega298 digo que CAPCOM en ese momento no veía a Luis como personaje jugable a Luis por su poco tiempo en pantalla, ahora con el remake le dieron otra historia y más tiempo con León, CAPCOM decidió si ponerlo en Mercenarios.
Wesker esta bien ahí en el re4 original como personaje jugable en Mercenarios, solo habría faltado Luis y el estaría más que completo

The only complaint I've heard with people who play Luis in mercenaries was that he feels sluggish or slower in his movements in comparison to the others so I was curious to what an S++ rank with him looked like
Imo Luis is soooo bad with crowd control. His guns have slow rate of fire, and overall get weaker when stronger enemies show up. The dynamite makes up for it, but he’s still probably the weakest pick for mercenaries. He requires more skill to use than the others.
@@mysticdre8065 what about Lion? They both weakest merc in mode tbh. Hunk and Krauser legend but gameplay for them looks like cheats.
@@jorjie9377 Leon is pretty good. He has a good weapon loadout. It’s easy to keep the kill streak going with him, you just have to be mindful of ammo. His mayhem mode is also really good since you can quickly kill all enemies with the weapon upgrades. He’s not better than Hunk or Krauser like you mentioned though.

When Leon returns to the village after visiting the Village Chief's mansion, you can see a villager watching him from atop a cliff. Once he sees Leon, he runs back to the village. It wasn't Luis who blew up that tower I think
Can't be him, I saw rockets falling in the sky. Something tells me, someone is trying to hide the research or evidences.
Played a bit before going to work, I found Luis to be by far the least adapted to this mode. Had a super hard time getting and s rank with him while it was effortless with the other characters.
Other characters are broken for beginners makes it seem like they're on easy mode, while Luis is for pro players because he's the hardest, wish they balanced between them.
