I miss TERA so much. It feels like i've lost a family member. Playing private servers is not the same and i dont think a lot of people are playing it :(

its pretty good lol. Has a couple thousand players, usually a few hundred active. A lot of "private" servers focus on the p2w aspects, but there is genuinely none of that on starscape. In fact, the only things you get from donating are purely cosmetic. The server quality is very high; Ive never had any rubber banding or "OMG LAG" moments.
The paradox here is the more people that think "no ones playing it" ... the more people that arent playing it lol. It costs nothing, downloads reasonably fast (i mean its still a big game, but again, the server quality is good). Give it a go

What I still miss the most are campfires tbh. It was a reason for players to stop and socialize. It really sucks that they removed that.

We started playing Tera when it first launched all those years ago, before action combat had really established a foothold in the industry. I only lasted maybe a few months, I was still mostly a tab-targeting fan, things have changed a lot since those days. I prefer action combat now, GW2, NW, ESO, you name it. Last time I played Tera was towards the end, the game was passed off to another company I think, it was mainly only on Steam, my existing alts had somehow been deleted, then once I started a new character and got to the main hub, it was mostly buy this, buy that, the game had turned into a huge cash shop MMO, left the game the next day, so when it finally closed, it wasn't surprising.
Good to see this is still around and with people that actually care about the game. I play on a couple of emulators out there and the community on both are very solid, simply because you have people that are passionate about the game. Appreciate the video, will definitely be trying this out in the next few days.

if you are talking about something like a classic, there were already 2 such servers (although it was a level cap of 65) and they all ded, few people are interested in leveling up a character for 4-5 days
@@XJleBuSheK TeraCZ and Akeron are dead? I know TeraCZ had very low player count, but thought it was still going.
To me, the most fun dungeons are the leveling dungeons, after that it becomes a grind of the same dungeon over and over.
@@muuubiee for me 50 players its dead (according to my observations this is online on these two servers), on servers with online 150-200 people (like asura and starscape) it is quite difficult to find people for some dungeons
Tera Nova came out this month and is pure vanilla on the sky cruiser patch

Man I have the absolute best memories of Tera when it was in closed beta and first launch year. I loved every single little thing about the game then. I haven’t had as great of an experience since.

I've played Tera for years. I was at the EOL party in Velika when the servers shut down. I have been on Menmas Tera with my guild since then. I still play it almost every day. Thanks for the video.

I never got to play tera.
I remember going to download it and it was shutting down.
I just stumbled across this thread about the servers and am currently DL starscape.
Super excited to start a new adventure.
It hit me in the feels reading all the comments on steam about this a while back.
Glad to be able to get involved.
Im going to have to check this out, i was so sad when Tera shut down (even though at that point i myself was barely playing) but it sounds like it could be fun to just pop in every now and then.

As a former 2007-2021 Wow player, I wanted to play this when it came out but i was monopolized by WoW.... Now I'm going HAM on Xbox since I quit WoW in 2021. What a GREAT MMO!!!

@@云霄仙 Mennma is EU (located in France) and Starscape is located in US West Coast. Between a EU and NA, it was a no-brainer. For me, Star is better. Menma is highly modified, not good monetization, and you can use toolbox from starscape to reduce ping issues and shinra meter. Some said that menma is also toxic? Take that with a grain of salt. In starscape, you can farm everything on the game without spending a dime. It seems to be the most fair out there.

It is in fact the 2nd best combat after BDO ~ but its hands down the BEST dungeoneer mmorpg , best mechanics ever which goes perfectly with the flow of combat of each class . Truly is sad that this game hasn't continued officialy. I've played this game for at least 5 years and was one of the bests experiences i had , even with all its flaws with stuttering and fps drops.
Honestly, having played both. BDO is more modern action combat but for overall "feel" Tera's system is still unmatched, BDO and BNS come close but there is just this "something" to how Tera's action combat works that is different. A kind of "weight" to it.
in terms of PvE combat, lost ark has THE BEST PvE Action combat in a raiding MMORPG. Tera comes close second. BDO is just not comparable, the game has no raids/dungeons
Tera is active on consoles and doing really good with actives players.

I only see 7 people in the 1st main castle town and no one plays kuma royal up too 20 ppl anymore for free exp.
I remember 1v1ing this guy and losing. There was another zerker I strived to beat but I can't remember their name.

Yup! Flowroro was a castanic slayer and another Streamer, he was the guild leader of Blacklist the guild I joined when I went to Mount Tyrannus :D. Unfortunately he stopped streaming, but I still see him gaming on my steam friendslist and whatnot!
I wonder how many people play it tho. I played this server and couldnt get passed a boss, theyre insanely strong.
The server is not bad, compared to others that exist now, but it can’t compete with Menma in terms of online and ease of play, it’s terribly difficult at the beginning, and it’s pretty hard to find parties in the dungeon after rk9

When I first placed the beta of this with my wife, I seriously believed it was the future of MMOS. I'm seriously thought it was the WoW killer and I never saw live action combat in an MMO that looked like a triple A single player game. This was the greatest waste of potential of all time. I still play Tera on PS4.
That being said, can anyone else recommend some PS4 MMOs? New, or just all around solid with a good population. Thanks, guys.

Hi ! this is a serv with option to be instant lvl 70 and just do dungeon end game ? (dont want leveling XD)
There Akeron server located at Russia and have ver game right after Reaper class. For player bace - 1 Mt server 64bit most players then 2 Akeron 32bit.
When you do the traditional leveling. Do you see people leveling or find dungeons? Or do everyone just go to lvl 65 right of the bat?
I would say 98% of the time people use the insta 70 scroll. If you've never seen the world of TERA i's a pretty cool one, but definitely a pretty basic leveling experience. You won't get groups for leveling dungeons unless you play with an organized group of friends
The problem with every private server becomes apparent the moment you first fight the basilisk. You can solo one in less than a min when you first come across them on this server. The difficulty is turned down so far that the only content that matters is endgame.
How populated is this server? Is the leveling experience close to the original? I miss so much Tera...
You can level if you'd like to, it has all the traditional leveling avenues - you are also given a scroll that insta lvls you to 70 if you'd like (i'd probably recommend if you've played before) - Starscape generally had 80-120 active players and I think has grown a little since the vid :D
The Tera Starscape sign up thing just errors but gives no details. It was worth a shot I guess...

Does any of the mentioned servers use Nguard or xign anticheats? because if the answer is no this might work on my steam deck...

As cool as this and ill be trying it I do wish for and miss a vanilla Tera experience. . .the zones leveling up .. al the dungeons. The only MMORPG other than WoW I hit max level in multiple times. The 65 cap was a great time to play but something about Nexus breaking the server haha or the guild wars, towns being ran by guilds was so organic that ill always miss it
Just decided to check it out, and I was ABOUT to download it, when I read on the install instructions that the launcher needs IE or Edge. What the hell? What would need IE in 2024? This does not bode well for the security of the client.

IMO Elin should be restricted. Maybe no lvl 70 scroll. Not as tiny. Ok maybe they can start tiny but oughta grow each level to be at least 5' or 4'11" by lvl 70.
TERA still has potential. Sorc PvP was ruined by Apex. Ideally it would be rewound to an earlier state, pushed to UE5, maybe have a secondary class system...keeping the original classes as core starting class, and allow classes to have optional roles for larger raids / battlegrounds. Would be neat to have a build system where there is some meaningful way to influence how a character plays beyond statmaxing / glyphs. I appreciate the "simplicity" of one size fits all stats...
Overall it sounds like I want the game to be westernized while keeping the KMMO essence.
It's possible that Apex may have improved endgame PvE but fr it made me suffer immensely. PvP got shallow and every class got mixed together. I'm better off without TERA after what it became. These days I just play Rocket League. I always played on a potato PC (AMD TERA was Intel or dropped frames for days) and on west coast (servers were in Chicago)...when it started out around 65 cap, u could PvP with class knowledge, knowing cooldowns, etc. Ping and lag weren't as much a factor because the game was actually balanced. Sure it was also slower, but it was properly paced. By EoL (end of life) everything was cracked out on speed. Burst of Celerity made it so Sorc had 2 modes. Backpedaling, kiting, and maybe being a support nuke on a giga, being so slow that u could pretty much only catch opponents distracted by group pvp...to momentarily being an active and fast attacking force. It was genius. And almost completely discarded that by raising the attackspeed floor to BoC speeds...
At EoL nerve exhaust was a survival skill (broke on dmg) and time gyre didn't even immobilize.
For my entire career I refused to memorize combos beyond the most simple setups that were really more of chains. I preferred to improvise. By EoL they went the route of giving pretty much every class an inescapable one cycle combo (ok maybe if u brooched u could escape)...that's what it boiled down to just memorization and repeating a canned set of moves. Completely uninspired.
Anyways life has forced me to conclude that violence is bad, even digital fake virtual violence. I still sometimes wish I could recreate the perfect MMORPG. SRO and TERA would definitely be the biggest influences.
In my experience TERA went from very good combat to plain bad combat. I knew I was addicted at the time I played, but was powerless to break its negative energy drain / time sink. The community was very toxic and cliquey. There were good players but cheating was rampant. A lot of people just played it to be overpowered and the update cycle of constantly pumping out new gear (and ruining the balance of combat) ensured they could remain on top without any real need for skill. I'd say the experience of getting dumpstered by imbeciles in a game that was my main focus in life is the worst thing to have happened to me online.
In hindsight I can regard myself as the GOAT (greatest of a time) PvP Sorcerer (most wonky class)...in the proper meta...in the best combat game...

Never proven on LAN. I reckon statistically I may have been easily outperformed by sorcs with proper ping.

In general the unfortunate reality with a lot of niche older games is that what is keeping them alive are the dedicated playerbase who understand the game on a pretty deep level and perhaps even been playing the same class for 10 years at this point. I agree that combat has gotten IMMENSELY faster, sorc is definitely a class that is very rotation driven. I do think with NGSP / ping remover and things like that in the private servers that you can get the fluidity of feel of combat without necessary being bogged down immensely by ping, though still get clapped by some mechs. I hope that you support the game and those who are trying to keep it alive though!

I have play in this server. Technically TERA have a quite `Toxic` community over the years (In any server), which leads to divide them into few fanatics.
I think the root problem in this game is very difficult in the term of game play and mechanics, which is very precision, plus mastering a single class alone will take several years, and even that.. can not be guarantee.
In result, back around 2017-2018 there is third party program called `Tera Proxy` (Now called Tera Toolbox), this Tera Toolbox change completely the gaming experienced in TERA, because Tera Toolbox improving the `Precision` in game. Later on some people developed several `Script` in this Tera Tool box that gives some advantaged in the games, some of them will acted like cheat, such as `Automatic skills`, etc.
From this Tera Toolbox era, also divided community in several fanatics, some of them don`t want to used toolbox, and some of them were really depended in Tera toolbox (For example to improve the game play, ping). In short, this `Tera Toolbox` was in `gray area`.
For official server like Enmasse and Gameforge, they choose to allowed the Tera Toolbox for used by players, aslong it`s used as fair, and not gives extreme advantaged.
Later on, after the official server completely shutdown in early 2022, there is several private server appear such as Tera Menma, Tera Starscape, etc.
All of these TERA private server has in common, they will change the rule often, and will ban without explaining it in your email.
Some of rules keep changing because of influence some players.
For decades i play this games, the real `Root problems` in TERA community is the player behavior, which is `Toxic` and `Elitist`
Which result they developed some third party program that can detect your DPS amount (Shinra Meter), and what make it worst, they can upload your DPS stat in some website called `Moongourd` (Back of the day), so people can inspect you from there.
This insecure shit already happens for over the years,
In fact that, you can complete the hardest dungeon even using some margin gear and DPS, but elitist in the server never satisfied.
Some people can not `coupe` with those insanity using some `Script` that gives quite advantage so they can play better or easier, like using some Script that can work like macro, that will cast the skills automatically, some fanatics which is not accepted any single of `Script`, they will report you `non-stop` and `suspect` you what ever your step is going.
Community of TERA private server already full shit of toxic elitist, sorry to say this.

I remember playing this game a long time ago. Along with age of wushu. Aion etc. The good days of mmos. Now devs to scared to make them anymore, high fail rate 😅

i'd say you'll probably end up with 180-240 ping or so, playing with ngsp and the toolkit it'll act like almost 0. I know a good bit of EU players on starscape

I'd say typically you get around 100-150 players on during peak hours. Several active guilds to join and run stuff!

I would say second best combat in a MMORPG, BDO is king in that department. Also there is a Russian server that beats both of these servers in population. It has around 600 players daily. That being said it's nice to see PS's trying to keep it alive. Wish they would make a ps for Defiance, not 2050 but the original.
