In nature animals have to make sure that only the strongest and best offspring survive, sick/weak/defective is too demanding to care for. Animals dont have the luxury of supermarkets to get food sometimes they have to go many days without food so culling the weak is necessary for survival
The mother killed it because it was eating on its siblings wing for no reason. The other chick was in distress because of that. So she took him out. Also she notice he couldn’t get to the food like the others. When he finally did he was falling down on the others for no reason she had seen it as she bit his head. But she let him live. It was only when he started attacking his sibling eating on his wing is when she killed him.
I have observed a similar situation among white storks. When, unexpectedly, the stork father threw the largest chick out of the nest, which constantly attacked its smaller brothers and snatched food from their beaks.

И тот никак не мог от нападок избавиться, и жаловался маме... И только тогда она взяла за шею и вытащила драчуна из среды других. A small or weak chick wont have as much of a chance surviving than bigger and stronger chicks so why waste food and energy taking care of it? It would only make things more difficult for the parents and the other mouths that need feeding. Infanticide may not be pretty but it yields favorable results.

That's not at all the case. We always put emwtions on everything, this happens often, to more than just birds. The parent will kill any offspring it sees as weak or defective, the chick may have hatched late and that's all it can take. For the good of the nest the chick needed to go. I thought it was healthy and thus good, but I'm not a mom bird. The others chicks have no love they turned on eachother, not just because, you have to be strong and the string fight and bully for food. Sometimes just having too many is a problem.

If it were dominating the others it wouldn't have been removed because it would have been the strongest and most likely to live to adulthood and produce more offspring. The weak and defective are eliminated not the strong and accretive.
It seems the presence of humans stresses the storks. Some birds push fledglings out of the nest after being handled by people or if their nest has the scent of humans. Since grade school, I was taught not to touch a birds nest or eggs.

It’s completely false. I give you an example. This winter a pair of bald eagles In Florida had 2 chicks. At one week age they got severe eye infection that was threatening their life. They both were taken from their nest and went to wildlife care for one week. ONE WEEK. They were brought back to their nest one week later (they grew up a lot and gained weight) and both parents welcomed them home and they both grew up and fledged safely ❤️❤️

Он был самым маленьким и, судя по всему, агрессивным. Непонятно, зачем он кусал другого птенца за крыло. Но он за это в итоге поплатился.

Последний это птенец или нет - тут не видно. Но несколько раз внимательно просмотрев момент ПЕРЕД атакой мамы, я заметила, что он несколько раз вцеплялся в крыло другому птенцу. И тот никак не мог от нападок избавиться, и жаловался маме... И только тогда она взяла за шею и вытащила драчуна из среды других. Так что... всё справедливо, не обижай других - не рассердишь мать... 🤔

Вы не обратили внимания на то что этот птенец меньше по размеру остальных то есть больной недоразвитый вот его мамаша и изолировала .

A small or weak chick wont have as much of a chance surviving than bigger and stronger chicks so why waste food and energy taking care of it? It would only make things more difficult for the parents and the other mouths that need feeding. Infanticide may not be pretty but it yields favorable results.

@@SaifulBahri-xp8lv Unfortunately for these birds the answer is yes. Though it has a good outcome for the other chicks it still sucks that it has to happen in the first place.
@@SaifulBahri-xp8lv if you must know, animals in general do not have moral values. They have behaviour. Lemme repeat, BEHAVIOUR. it ain't the same thing. Morality requires brainwork or just plain thinking in general, behaviour in this case birds relies on primal instinct. Basically they're build different

People say it is because the bird is weak, sick, immature, etc. but the fact is WE HAVE NO IDEA WHY ANIMALS DO WHAT THEY DO ... As far as we believe, they are not sentient and cannot think logically (by our definition) or consequentially, so it seems often just reactionary, just a split-second random decision ... But the fact is there is definitely a reason (everything happens for a reason; however screwed-up the reason), even if we will never truly know and can only guess ... I suppose that is why they are so fascinating/frustrating/confusing to observe

色々な動画を見ると、特に発達不良でもなさそうなものを間引いてる親鳥もよく見るから、４匹孵化させて、途中で必ず１匹は間引いてしまうような習性なんですかね？
比較的エサが豊富に取れる状況だと間引きはないみたいだけど、エサが少ない時期だと、間引くみたいね。育児に対する効率性重視なのでしょう。それにしても一撃で殺すとかしないで、じっくりとなぶり殺しにするところがなんとも残酷に見えます。
ためらいとか､申し訳ないような素振りは､一切ないですからね。「一個減らそう」と決めたらサッサと実行！
さっきまで普通に餌を与えたり、抱いたりしていたのにいきなりスイッチ入るから謎。中には親鳥ほどに成長した子もつつき回されグッタリしてるのもあるので、なぜ？と疑問が多い。

모성애도 없고 천성이 게으르다보니
먹이 사냥을해서 여러새끼를 잘먹여 키우는것보다 새끼 몇을 죽임으로서
먹이활동도 적게하면서 남아있는 형제들만 먹여살리죠
황새들이 다 그렇습니다
새끼가 먹이도 잘먹고 건강한데도 한두마리만 남겨둔채 나머지는 부리로 죽을때까지 숨통을 조여서 죽이거나 둥지에서 떨어뜨려 죽여서 최소한의 새끼들만 키우고 삽니다
정말 멸종해 버렸으면 좋겠어요

It's stopping selfish behavior. The one being messed with was shoving others out of the way for food leaving them to get only a few bites while he selfishly eats it all. Animals won't allow this because it endangers the health of others.

That's not at all the case. We always put emwtions on everything, this happens often, to more than just birds. The parent will kill any offspring it sees as weak or defective, the chick may have hatched late and that's all it can take. For the good of the nest the chick needed to go. I thought it was healthy and thus good, but I'm not a mom bird. The others chicks have no love they turned on eachother, not just because, you have to be strong and the string fight and bully for food. Sometimes just having too many is a problem.
@@jessicaladnier6925 The chick that was thrown out was the one that didn't stop nibbling at it's sibling's arm. It could have been a defective trait the parent didn't like.
@@AuroraDragoness Birds don't have arms and they don't kill off the strongest of the brood. If it were dominating the others it wouldn't have been removed because it would have been the strongest and most likely to live to adulthood and produce more offspring.
The weak and defective are eliminated not the strong and accretive.

It seems the presence of humans stresses the storks. Some birds push fledglings out of the nest after being handled by people or if their nest has the scent of humans. Since grade school, I was taught not to touch a birds nest or eggs.

It’s completely false. I give you an example. This winter a pair of bald eagles In Florida had 2 chicks. At one week age they got severe eye infection that was threatening their life. They both were taken from their nest and went to wildlife care for one week. ONE WEEK. They were brought back to their nest one week later (they grew up a lot and gained weight) and both parents welcomed them home and they both grew up and fledged safely ❤️❤️
