Thank you so much Adam, I’m still humbled by your kind words. Lots of straight talking common sense and inspiring words. Your timing and philosophy couldn’t of come at a better time and the belief has been rekindled about my own creative journey and to share with others. Honesty and trust are the foundations of everything. No matter how tough things get these have to be the one constant. Once again, thank you so much.

Good photography is about honesty with yourself, something you touched on in this article. Heart and soul goes into everything we try to achieve with photography, in my days on set as a cinematographer, I always tried to be as honest to the story as I could. I always enjoy your articles. Be well and thanks.

had a youtube channel for 1 year....nothing on it, not really because of what you express which is very true, but because as I have a full time job that has never stopped during this merry go around that is the last 2 years. I work in PCB manufacture which belive it or not has always been just as much as a key worker job as any, we make ventilators, optical scanners, and on the other end the guts that run torpedoes....we are busy, never not been. But you know what ..the very little time I have now, I watch you and guys like Ian Worth and Henry Turner because you are brilliant at what you do, I'll get get there...just need the time 👍

What a great message. I can really relate to it. So many times I’ve taken the ‘leap’ to get out and go take some photos and it has never disappointed. Even when the images are not great, just getting out and looking through the viewfinder, being in the moment, has been great. Thanks for taking time to make and share these videos👍👍👍. Cheers

Crikey, I want to charge out the door shouting "Freedom", camera in hand after that. You make a great point about just getting out in all weathers. I stayed huddled indoors last weekend during the storms while a friend of mine went out to a Queensferry harbour and caught the most beautiful picture of stormy waves crashing over the harbour wall. Should've gone out. I've never regretted going out with the camera. I regularly regret not going out.

Extremely motivational and inspiring. Some recent surgeries have kept me inside for the last several weeks. Since I have not been able to get outside, I pulled together some items around the house and produced some macro images, but there is nothing like the feel of the wind, the singing off the birds, and the smells of the forest. Your video was like a coaches’ halftime speech. I’m charged up by it and can’t wait to get back out there later this month. Thank you!

I follow a "few" fotographers from around the world, like Nigel Danson and Mads Peter Iversen, Henry Turner, Gary Gough and several others, but you have the most inspirational videos and encourage people more than any other photographer, to go out, take pictures and improve your photography than any other pro. And thank you for that, Adam! You seem to focus more on the little man/woman behind the camera than anyone else. Yes, Mads, for example, is an expert in his field, and greatly respected and revered by me, but I think he's a little too much of a "school teacher". He is absolutely ery enthousiastic, and very technical,l but you are more of a "mentor", trying to push people to go that extra inch/centimeter or to break the rules, go beyond their comfort zone and maybe put in that little more effort to get that shot "you might not have made". Technical knowledge is important, no doubt, but putting in just a little more effort is, in my humble oppinion, even more important. Again, thank you for making us aware of that and trying to "push" people that way!

Another exceptional vlog from yourself Adam.
In Scotland, especially that of the west coast and islands and being an Arranachd, we call those who tell stories seanchaidhean and usually applies to those of oral tradition.
Photography is another medium of story telling and to me the two methods of telling a story is observation and how interpretative is that person at telling the story. It is a skill and art in itself.
Honesty is a subject matter that is easy to say but hard to practice. We all have our foibles even the most honest of us. So, being open and honest to ourselves, trying to stay clear of excuse and blame, letting ego go and finding yourself can take a lifetime.
As someone who is disabled with dyslexia, dyscalulia, dyspraxia, bi polar and arthritis, photography helps me in ways that I cannot explain in words and so I let my photogarphs help explain for me.
My past career was a senior zookeeper and now I am a freelance press sports photographer as well as capturing images of where I live which is currently on Argyll's Secret Coast.
As a zookeeper being observant to all that surrounds you is one of the major keys to the job and to life. As a photographer being observant also plays its part. However, of all the ideas, thoughts, idioms etc the best I can summarise is to enjoy the fruits of your labour, know when to rest and to bend to the winds of the day, to smile even in the pain, to be thankful and humble and to be honest.
Some of the many messages I leave posted about my home is that:
"if you try then you have not failed. If you do, you have not failed. But please don't say or think I can't as then you have really failed."
"Be grateful for each moment even the most difficult and painful ones"
"One day is one lifetime and each second of that day is a blessing"
"A bright mirror calmly reflects the world, but is not changed by it"
"Be patient with yourself and with others"
    &
"If you fall down seven times, get back up eight times"
So Adam, I must once again thank you for another one of your excellent vlogs. Keep up the good work, good health to you and your family and as always keep taking those photos....

Thanks Adam, I really need to try and get the A3 Printer my friend gave me 2/3 years ago, not even turned it on yet. Got spare inks and a roll of paper too so no excuse really, well, besides my photography not being good enough. Not really been out to shoot any Street ( my main Passion ), or landscape photography which I’m trying to get better at lately as I hurt my wrist 5/6 months ago, getting worse not better, could be tendons, see the orthopaedic docs next week.
I’ve a week in Anglesey booked at the end of August, not the best time photography wise you’ll agree but I do love seascapes too, plus I live in Horwich, Lancashire at the base of Rivington Pike so need to shoot more locally too. I did get some decent shots a couple of weeks ago but been too painful to do much since really and don’t want to do any permanent damage

Loved your discussion today and made the leap recently and created a website as a means for family and friends and anyone else to visit and see my work in a place other than the compressed world of social media.
