Thanks so much for all of the great Ginger Baker video you've given us over the years. My very first concert was Blind Faith's Philadelphia show at the Spectrum on July 16. 1969. I was 13. Revolving stage. 16,456 in attendence according to the Philly Daily News. Blind Faith was under-powered with Clapton playing through one Marshall stack. They were quiet compared to opener Rory Gallagher and Taste. Delaney & Bonnie were second on the bill. Ginger received a standing ovation aftet his ten minute solo in "Do What You Like". I was at Boy Scout camp in the Pennsylvania poconos a couple of days later. All of my friends were gathered around a little black & what tv set watching the moon landing. I could have cared less. My 13 year old brain was still trying to process the sight and sound of Ginger Baker at the height of his musical genius. Needless to say, I was never the same after that experience.
@@maximilliancunningham6091 I had been listening to Cream for years before I saw the first footage of them. So I imagined that Ginger was surrounded by some 20 cymbals and 30-40 toms to be able to play like that. :-)
Thanks for posting this Peter. Would you please post your video from the Feb 4 1990 Jack Bruce Ginger Baker show at the Bayou? I was there for that fine show and Baker did a great Toad. I also saw Ginger with Cream Nov 3 1968 and Blind Faith July 20 1969 both at the Baltimore Civic Center. Thanks for all the fine music you have shared over the years.
