Matt's words resonated with me today. Since I began my mission earlier this month, I've been feeling the effects of the adversary working on me. Matt's description of a feeling of "ick" is so perfect! As I've turned to the Lord and to the temple for relief, the Lord has given me tiny but intense miracles to remind me that He knows me, He sees me, and is pleased with my efforts, even if I'm making mistakes, because I'm trying my best. One thing I feel He has been revealing to me of late, is to not imagine worst case scenarios. I've done this all my life and I think it's common - a lot of people do it. We imagine up contentions, disasters, terrible circumstances. The feeling that came to me is that as we attend the temple we receive more and more of God's creative power, and as we imagine the worst, we have more power to create those scenarios. On the other hand, as we create positive, constructive scenarios in our minds, we have more power to manifest this goodness. If we are to become creators it is crucial that we learn to create good! As Matt was speaking about quantum mechanics, I got the feeling that this is related. That we have power to effect change from afar. I don't know if I'm explaining myself very well, but I wonder if it's something you or others have thought about.

Wow, thank you for sharing this comment. I'm kind of a worst case scenario person too, but this and some other things I have learned have made me re-think that approach lately😊
Oh my gosh, this is me in a nutshell. If I have a little spat with my wife, for example, I'm usually immediately panicking and conjuring up the worst scenarios in my mind, "she's going to be fed up and leave," "she's going to leave the church,""my family is going to be wrecked." On some of the darkest days, my mind will go to a dark place and I'll start obsessing over things I've seen in true crime shows where a wife poisons her husband or something. It sounds crazy, and it kind of is, because that kind of thing is not even close to being in her nature. Couldn't be farther from reality! I can discern now that the adversary is trying desperately to lose my celestial vision; to stop me from seeing the eternal truths in plain sight. All of this is temporary. Someday we will be the glorified, perfected version of ourselves. Whatever impasse we seem to be at in the moment will be forgotten. We love each other with a pure love and God loves us too. The things we quibble over are telestial things, and often what one might call "first-world problems." You are exactly right. We need to start recognizing these false beliefs the adversary is pushing in us for what they are and reject them in the name of Jesus Christ.

I'm so glad you had Matt on your podcast again. I'm learning so much about these very things, tapping into more light, raising to a higher and holier frequency, practicing mighty prayer and crying unto the Lord, rending the veil of my own unbelief and coming into His presence (in my heart and mind's eye). I extend a lot of grace to Amulek for struggling to see celestial in that moment because while not explicitly stated, the scriptures seem to imply that his wife and children were among those being burned in the fire.
@@spirtualsurvival After pondering the differences in Alma & Amulek's responses for a long time that understanding came to me pretty powerfully one day after reading Alma 15:18. "And Alma took Amulek, and they went to the land of Zarahemla, and took him to his own house, and did administer unto him in his tribulations, and strengthened him in the Lord." The other consideration was that if his wife and children had turned away from God as much of his kindred and friends did, then the promise to Amulek from the angel that receiving Alma into his home would be a great blessing upon him and his family would not have been true.
He absolutely deserves so much grace. Amen. He lost everything. The example certainly wasn’t intended to denigrate Amulek but rather speak to the eternal truth of seeing celestial in the hardest of circumstances, as will be the case ahead as everyone will lose people to the other side of the veil before the Savior returns.
@@kcmattp Matt I've never heard you denigrate anyone and I apologize if my comment implied that you had. I agree 100% with your comment. I think many members are interpreting the strong push to prepare for the second coming to mean that Christ's second coming is imminent. I don't believe that just because "now" is the time to be ready for the second coming doesn't mean it is happening now. It could also mean that events in the world are quickly coming that we will not be ready for unless we are ready for Christ's return. Events that may shut down temples, inhibit communication with church leaders in Salt Lake, separate us from loved ones and that ultimately may take the lives of many saints. I think the example President Nelson gave of not being able to communicate with his family after his wife passed and the example President Eyring gave of not being able to communicate with their children during the flooding in Idaho were warnings for us that the only way we will have peace in the future is if we have and are worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost.
@@kcmattp You also bring up a good point, that amidst the trials we are likely going to experience, we need to be able to maintain celestial thinking even if we are witnessing our loved ones being killed. To forgive instead of call fire down from heaven, to love instead of hate, to share instead of hoard, to put our trust in God instead of the flesh.

I struggle with type 2 diabetes as well. Because of meds I’m on, I have to drink water or I get incredibly dehydrated. Can I add a near death video I saw about fasting? It’s powerful. Doesn’t sound like she’s a member but what amazing info she has to share. Can feel the spirit of it and she uses many words the same as our prophet/ doctrine uses.

I’ve recognized a pattern when it comes to spiritual highs. At least for me. When I would experience something really good. Especially on my mission I would have that good feeling. However I see that Satan recognizes that and tries to pull it down. My dad told me that every time I have these experiences. I must put up my guard.

If what we focus on exists, then of course focus completely and totally on the Savior - make our minds focused on Him as a single thought. The only thought. Becoming One with the Savior is to be and think One with the Savior. This is exactly how and why Christ stated: I am in the Father and He is in me and we are One. We are of One Thought, of One Mind. All that is asked for will be granted thee because the will of the Father is in you and you cannot ask anything is not outside of His Will when you are One with the Father. You are eternal Light and Glory because that is what the Father is. This is why and how you cannot deviate because in order to do so, you would cease to be with God. I can imagine that once a resurrected being reaches this state, you can no easier change your state than God can cease to be God.

Hearing the words, light and truth, every other second isn’t super helpful for me. I really was trying to enjoy this podcast, but I am a person that needs some real world Examples to help me understand, not just using the words light and truth continually. Especially when those are deep topics and I am not a really big deep spiritual thinker. Sorry to be a downer. I still enjoy your podcast.
Well go study light as truth it’s as basic as it gets. Light is a opposite of darkness and chases darkness and truth is opposite of lies from adversary all the limiting beliefs and fears we have in all situations and even thoughts about ourselves and others can be lies like “people are scary or untrustworthy” or “I’m not good enough or smart enough” etc are limiting beliefs and lies untruths which are low energy frequency low light, dimmed light and thoughts create things. Thoughts help create what’s around us and we have to be aware of these things and change them to truth, opposite of the lies of not being good enough etc what’s true what does God want you to believe? That we are made from him made of love and light and truth and special and that we can do all things through Him? Etc that’s truth

Hearing the words, light and truth, every other second isn’t super helpful for me. I really was trying to enjoy this podcast, but I am a person that needs some real world Examples to help me understand, not just using the words light and truth continually. Especially when those are deep topics and I am not a really big deep spiritual thinker. Sorry to be a downer. I still enjoy your podcast.
Well go study light as truth it’s as basic as it gets. Light is a opposite of darkness and chases darkness and truth is opposite of lies from adversary all the limiting beliefs and fears we have in all situations and even thoughts about ourselves and others can be lies like “people are scary or untrustworthy” or “I’m not good enough or smart enough” etc are limiting beliefs and lies untruths which are low energy frequency low light, dimmed light and thoughts create things. Thoughts help create what’s around us and we have to be aware of these things and change them to truth, opposite of the lies of not being good enough etc what’s true what does God want you to believe? That we are made from him made of love and light and truth and special and that we can do all things through Him? Etc that’s truth
