For a Multi-Species angler, the definition of "rare" is very important. What does it mean to catch a _rare fish?_ A _rare Species?_ Or a _rare sample?_ Every time the word *rare* is used, the angler needs to take into account the range of the fish and the abundance of the local population! For example: the rare fish in this video may have been rare to me (NJ), but to anglers in Arkansas, it may as well be common!!! Have you folks ever caught one of those in the state of NJ? If so, please let me know where! I would like to study that particular population sample a little bit more in-depth. :)
Extreme Philly Fishing you should come to lakewood nj at the lake carasajo there are hugge bass and big blue gills and pickerel also there is big catfish and humongous perch
Just like everyone says the Bigmouth Sleeper is extremely rare but it's "uncommon" in my area! Depends on your area and environment I guess! BIGMOUTH SLEEPER!
This video emphasizes the huge advantage it is to be a multi species angler, it is definitely the truest form of fishing and resonates with the master fisherman. When the fish you came for aren't biting, you find something that is and therefore turn a bad day into a good one. It's like being on a party boat out here on the west coast. We start by targeting schooling fish on the surface near kelp patties. Bonito, barracuda, sand bass, calico bass, yellowtail. If they aren't biting we move to a deep wreck and try for rockfish, ocean whitefish, Sand and Calico. If nothing is biting at all the ship still attempts to find a spot where some species is biting even if it is just sculpin which is normally considered undesirable. On those terrible days, a measly sculpin is applauded by the deck hands and fellow fisherman because it's SOMETHING when nothing is biting. And "random" catches sometimes make the trip a special experience for you and others. I went out on a twilight trip, fished for 5 hours catching only a few sculpin. We anchored down on the last spot of the night and I adapted my fishing methods because I could see the "desirable" species of fish were not biting and therefore the traditional methods weren't working. I changed from squid to a live anchovy rig, and ended the night with a leopard shark! By far the biggest thing anyone reeled in all night and everyone was excited to see a shark on board (and released unharmed.) In short, a true fisherman will fish for anything that bites and applaud any catch as it makes that particular day unique even if it is not ideal. Great video Leo. Would love to see you come out to the west coast like you talked about on the stream!
Leo. I love you. You are the best. I used to watch tons of RUclips fishing channels but now you are the only one cause you are, seriously.... the best.
keep up the awesome bids Leo I watch them in the morning and night when you post it makes my day and my mom said that's rotting you brain cells and a showed her on of your videos and she said wow that's cool and your videos are educational so I like them even more!
Hey Leo, great video, gotta say that this is one of your best produced videos I've seen, I can tell you put a lot of work into this and it's obvious. Well done my good sir
I hit the like button for the Black Nose Crappie. That’s pretty awesome Leo! It’s always fun watching your videos, and as always, very informative. Tight lines!
this looked like an epic day i am a multispecies angler in england but before watching your channel is was a 100% bank angler now i enjoy wading the creeks :)
I started watching you at about 10k subscribers, and your channel has grown insanely quickly Leo. You and 1rod are my favorite youtubers (you post a littke more often though lol). Youre videos are very educational as well, even to someone like me over here in rural Washington State with a completely different kind of fishing.
Very enjoyable video, Leo! Although you didn't get your targeted species, you still succeeded in having a good time with all the other species you caught.
My brother caught like a 3 lb largemouth in the corners where you walked down. He also caught the biggest bluegill I've ever seen under the waterfall. It was the size of a dinner plate! Also about 2 miles down stream, there is a pond that the river runs into. My brother caught a 4.10 lb largemouth there! This was also all this summer
You should come to lakewood nj at the carasajo lake there some very huge bass, pickrel an more oh yeah an the blue Gill are bigger than a foot you are close from here +extreme Philly fishing
Yeah. That's true, Shabba Ranks. I need to catch myself some Catfish, for sure! Who knows! Maybe some videos coming up soon. :) Tight lines and thanks for watching!
Leo, would of loved to see you fishing that location the following day after they stocked the waters. Looks like you still had a great time...I mean you caught quite a bit of fish, had some decent weather, and got to hang out with your buds. Love watching your trout videos. Are you going to do more this Fall???
If your fishing for stocked trout,,, use whole kernel corn. That’s what they are fed at the hatchery. I have caught tons with that bait!! No sinker just let it go with the flow of the current.
Leo you have to come to Southern California and catch trout up to double digits at Dixon lake in Sandiego. The lake record is 16lbs trout season in SoCal is next Month
hey leo, slightly irrelevant question but hybrids... is there ever any risk of them out breeding the pure breds in certain watersheds and the pures becoming extinct in certain watersheds. i also wondered if hybrids were a problem before man came along, here in europe we have rudd and bream, they sometimes hybridize but in ireland the problem is getting worse and worse i wondered if hybrids were as common before man came and meddled with the situation?
Also if you go back there there’s 8 pin d small mouth and big largemouth I live 1 min from there and fish there all the time and went today and caught a 3 lber
Again an older video. None the less a great place ta fish . Next time the Trout will be there. As always , nice job Leo. 6, June ( D-DAY 1945 ) 2020 . Tom Daytona Beach, FL.

Is a size 8 hook okay for micro fishing
Ela Is Hella Thicc , its okay for panfish. If you want the little ones like minnow sized then you need smaller. Size 12 or even 16 would be better.
