Thanks for watching! The little steering wheel desk I used in this video is surprisingly useful, and it's less than $10 on Amazon (as of posting this link). You can pick one up here: amzn.to/3DikHBw -Tristan (That's an affiliate link, so I'll make a few cents if you buy through that link. Great way to support the channel while getting new gear.)
I enjoy your videos. 1.) Because of my low vision, I haven't driven a vehicle, on the road since 2016. 2) At the age of 74, I am content to watch young people like you, show me the great scenery & views. Thank you for the views & commentary.
Since we were National Park Rangers, we got married at Schwabacher Landing near the Snake River under the Tetons. Back in 2009, it was only a $50 permit to do it on a gorgeous August day. Such a memorable day. Even the fishermen lent us their poles for a photoshoot. Haha. The Tetons are our favorite NP.
The bear was cool! Also the Grandd Tetons were great! That bagel for lunch was gross with all that salt! It would have been good otherwise! Also that drone footage of the Red Mts was gorgeous!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏🚙
As a resident of Hawaii I look at videos like todays and think "sure, it's nice today but come back in February!" At that resort it would be fun to sit in hot water and look out at the winter.
Just love the research and information that you give!! Makes your videos so much more interesting! For some one like myslef that can not do strenous hikes and longer it is so nice to see these through your eyes!! Thanks 😊
Tristen, I don’t know how you do it. You do several mind blowing hikes during the day and move on. In areas that you visit- I just want to camp and enjoy the beauty and serenity. Just love your vids and the way you tell the story.
As a nomad I used to think this when I first started, I would have to fight myself just to leave a place, but I quickly realized that there is always another stunning place just around the bend. America has thousands of beautiful places to see
I get antsy if I stay in one place for too long. Too much good stuff out there to see and do! Plus just sitting around camp doesn't make for interesting videos. Not for me, anyway. That's not the kind of video I would want to watch. Thanks David.
Just found your channel, really enjoying it!! My heart skips a few beats every time you get close to the edge on the mountain. Such awesome scenery, Love Wyoming. So glad I found your channel!
Wyoming.... Where I truly fell in love with the mountains. I lived in Colorado Springs as a kid and liked the mountains then but when I flew into Jackson and saw the Tetons..... My heart has never been the same!! I *need* to get back there and soon!! 😊
Those mountains reach someplace deep deep deep into the psyche and stirs the ancient wanderer in humanity. Breathtaking while at the same time so grounding and safe. A true oneness with such an incredible planet you've given us this morning! Thanks again, as always😁
Thank you Tristen. I'm sitting happily in western mountains near Asheville NC, after 30 yrs living wild and free near Bozeman MT, American Falls and Boise ID, Lima and Dillon MT, and Lander WY. Your day on those back roads and huge small experiences in western WY mountains was a wonderful trek through memories of that time and home. Smiles. Peace.
A year ago, I drove from my home in San Diego to Yellowstone and back, and got reminded how much I love the Tetons as I drove past each way. On my northbound trip, smoke and haze from wildfires in CA, OR, and ID made seeing the mountains a challenge. But on the southbound trip, rain the night before cleaned the atmosphere and the mountains were glorious. I need to plan a return trip dedicated to just the Tetons. Thanks for taking us along.
OK, so my wife and I have been trying to figure out what to do to celebrate our 20 year anniversary, and after watching the past two videos we both said, "Let's plan a trip through there!" - so thanks to you, we've roughed out a basic itinerary through Colorado, Wyoming (including the Wind River Range) and Montana. Oh - and we were both like, "Yo, never seen that steering wheel desk before, that must be new!" lol
Great video of the lesser known/visited areas of Western Wyoming! The grandeur of these places just really have to be experienced in person, but if you can’t this video is the next best bet. The Granite Falls, creek and subsequent hot springs are now going on my list of adventures to complete next time I head out to Idaho and Wyoming. Is there still (or was there ever) some weird rule about filming in National Parks aside from flying the drone? Let’s talk about salt bagels for a second… salt bagels are an art best experienced on the east coast, where they’ve been perfected. (New Jersey native here)… you have to find the right balance of salt to bread and then cut it with cream cheese or other spreadable deliciousness to get the flavor just right and not just taste overbearing saltiness. The addition of meats and veggies also help, but personally, I recommend a spread of some sorts first and foremost.
I believe the National Park Service has sued some RUclipsrs because they didn't have commercial filming licenses, but the NPS lost. I think it had something to do with the First Amendment (freedom of speech). That's my recollection, anyway. And yeah, I can see how cream cheese would definitely help with the salty bagel!
The Gros Ventre slide is very similar to the Hope slide near Hope, British Columbia near Vancouver. The Hope slide displaced 47 million cubic meters of debris, which is very similar to the Gros Ventre slide. It's very easily viewed from the highway when driving the Hope-Princeton highway. Always enjoy your most excellent videos and efforts to produce them.😁
Tristan that was an awesome trek thru beautiful Teton area! It’s been over 15 yrs since I’ve stayed/hiked in that area. Your drone coverage & all video was fantastic! Had never seen the red hill ares or that gorgeous waterfall. That’s exactly how I like to view bears - them walking away from where I am! Thanks again for your peaceful sharing of Creation!
Holy cow! Everything I like to see: scenic views, lakes, great trails, mountain ranges, campsites, wildlife etc. I especially enjoyed seeing the Gros Ventre Slide & the adjoining lake. I remember checking it out on one of my Yellowstone/Grand Teton trips. I recently did a painting of the Grand Tetons from Mormon Row with a historic barn in the foreground so your amazing views of the Tetons brought that back to life for me. PS - I keep hoping to see Adobe Town on one of your adventures.
Been watching you for a few years now, at least. These last 3 videos have been my favorite, i LOVE Wyoming. I'm really sorry to hear about your Dad. I went through similar with my own Dad 10 yrs ago. He also only had 3 months. Thanks again for awesome videos ❤️
To your point of not needing a reason to go someplace: We often slow down and stop in “nowhere” and there is almost always soooo much to see, do, and learn. Just did it this weekend in a “nowhere” place. Often we say that we need to return because there ends up being so much to see.
Years ago a friend and I spent four months in and around Jackson. We spent most of that time living in tents up on Mosquito creek near Wilson. We roamed a lot of the area but never saw Sacred Rim. Gotta get back to do that. One very fun thing we did though was to actually rock hop and scramble our way up the Gros Ventre Slide. We didn't get all the way up but it was an all day affair. Great video. The Jackson area is spectacular. Too bad town is so crowded.
Awesome, beautiful land. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to travel and see all these wonderful places. And you are one of few people who put’s out the grid coordinate , thank you. Safe travels and looking forward to next video’s.
The drone footage adds such an incredible dimension to your videos. I really appreciate it when you can do that. When you get the chance to fish, what type of fishing do you like to do, if you aren't limited by law to certain types of fishing in particular places?
Yes, the drone footage is spectacular, and it adds a dimension to the videos that is uncompromising in its beauty. God, I love the mountains, and I am so envious of you and your frequent journeys to these special places. Peace!
Hubby and I saw a shown on local PBS here in NE Georgia , “outside the Lens” from the local PBS station in Fresno Valley…episode was about the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway. I said we need to go out there and drive that road., which we did in May. The best 70 miles of backcountry scenery of the eastern Sierra. That drive had more treasures than imagined. We were out there on a Thursday and saw a couple of other cars. In addition to that beautiful drive we stayed in an area of California we maybe wouldn’t have chosen and we had a great 2 weeks of exploring and seeing sights we don’t see around where we live. Travel doesn’t have to be monumentally inspired… I’ll take the little surprises any day…like those red hills.
My son and I drove through the Grand Teton national Park and also Yellowstone National Park seeing Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot springs August 8 2021 on my way to moving from Texas to North Central Montana where I live now. It was a bucket list to see all that. So amazing like you say. I've been exploring Montana since living here a year now. Done the going to the Sun Road twice last September and October trying to go when the tourist season has died down some. Last October was like I had the whole way through Glacier National Park to my self. It was the last day before they closed it for the season. The leaves had changed so it was like a whole new experience than when I went a month prior. Just magical here in the West. Best decision ever to retire and move here. I love it. I watch your videos getting excited about other places to explore. I want to see Idaho and Utah so much. You are so brave to hike some of these places that are so high in altitude and on some scary cliffs. I probably wouldn't try to do that extreme of hiking especially by myself personally but I'm awe of those like yourself who do. It's amazing 🤩. Thank you for taking us along on these epic adventures so we can see what it's like. Your content is awesome. 🤗😍
Hi Candy, love your description of your adventures and moving to Montana! Makes me want to hurry up and get over there. I'm thinking of moving there or to WY and am just trying to make up my mind. If you don't mind my asking, which town are you in and can you recommend other towns now that you've been there a year?
Nice compilation video!! Wife and I just did our 2022 trip out west at the end of June. We also hiked the Sacred Rim Trail. It actually gave us better views than the hike from the same trial head to Photographer's point with less than half the distance. Then we headed to the Tetons and camped at the Gros-Ventre Campground. The Highlight of our two week trip was the Hike into Cascade Canyon in the Tetons!! It is a must do for anyone! We took the boat shuttle across Jenny Lake to the the trailhead. Every part of it was an A1 experience..
Let me get this straight- you chose the salt bagel over Bubba's Barbeque? I hope you rectify that mistake in your next visit to Jackson! 😁 Great video as I really miss living out there. Keep it going!
Thank you for introducing other beautiful places of Wyoming! I have only been to Yellow Stone and Grand Teton. Now I have to find the big and wide waterfalls and more fantastic mountain ranges that Wyoming has to offer!
enjoyed wyoming. never had it on our list of go to places for some reason. had to laugh at one of your recent videos on how everytime you drive at night you hit something. ditto. our last adventure was in holbrook az. and we left our hotel at 5 am. my wife warned me on previous accidents but i said that it will be light in another hour. just got on interstate 40 and i hit a havalina and totaled out our honda. thanks for keeping your videos on the wild and beautiful side. too many u-tubers start staying in rv parks and before you know it they are showing you how to make butterfly porkchops. as long time travelers we really enjoy how nature never disappoints especially with the absence of crowds. downside is that we have to endure those awful burritos from gas stations.
You did a great job describing a good way to see Wyoming in various levels. I was on several of the same roads in late August, including those shown today and the Greys River Road. You inspire me to keep exploring!
There are some amazing campgrounds further up that road along the river. The floods earlier wiped out the camp on one side but there are several spots across the road.
Beautiful area. That's interesting about that landslide. Amazing how quick something like that can happen. It most have really been storming and the ground was so saturated...probably from previous rains. The red orange color of those hills were stunning. Thank you for Sharing ❤️
Thanks for sharing. I doubt I'll ever make it to that part of the world, but it's OK when I can see it through the eyes of someone else. Good video. Kent
Thanks for the comment regarding flying drones in National Parks. There is certainly a responsible way to use them and it is really not that hard. The FAA provides a free app that shows where you can fly and with what restrictions.
Love your awesome videos and thank you for sharing! At the start of this one, with you on the rock ledges ... my heart skipped and my stomach dropped! (I'd be too afraid to get that close to the edge!) Laughed at the sea salt bagel sandwich esp when at your next stop you were still talking about all the salt, lol! The scenery was EPIC and the waterfall/hot springs amazing! Loved your title for this one as the landscape and the bear truly made it the Wild West. T.y!
I am very interested in the Absaroka Range. It is much larger than I expected going all the way to Livingston MT. I hope your next video explores the Absaroka Range and the Beartooth Highway.
I lived in Wyoming for 45 years, and I'm thrilled that your videos show me places I've never seen in my home state. I grew up in the opposite corner of the state, which is far less scenic! I'd love to return the favor, and guide you to Adobe Town! I would just love to see drone footage of a flight around the hoodoos there. Thankfully, Adobe Town is a Wilderness Study Area, designated by the BLM for possible future consideration by congress, rather than a Wilderness Area designated by Congress, which would prohibit drone flights. BLM prohibits launching or landing a drone inside a WSA, but overflight is not prohibited, so you could launch a drone from the campsites along the WSA boundary, fly it over the best of the badlands, which are right along the Adobe Town Rim Road. That road forms the western boundary of the WSA, and the best of the badlands are just inside the boundary there, and all within sight of your drone as you take in footage of the best parts of Adobe Town. Thankfully, you don't need to worry much about a drone disturbing other users of the area: I've been there three times, and I've never seen another human there, just lots of wild mustangs , rabbits and rattlesnakes. It's a shame you didn't get there on your trip to Vermillion Creek Canyon, as Adobe Town is only a short drive north of there. You'll want to take your Landcruiser to Adobe Town: getting there is always a challenge, because the soil erodes so easily, and the decidedly primitive roads nearly always have washouts to navigate. I've reached Adobe Town in my 2WD van before, but it was a challenge! I'll happily accept that challenge again, since I love my van like you love your SUVs!
Wind River Range...on top of my List...might be dicey beginning in Oct... Such "epic" views are compelling...a physical pull ...all of your videos of WRR have done this to me...
Thank you for mentioning the road conditions. I love off the beaten path places but I drive a regular passenger sedan, so certain places are inaccessible. I'll definitely be looking into these spots when I eventually take a Wyoming trip!
So true...I'm fortunate enough to travel Wyoming sometimes for work & without a doubt, it's a game changer. Your content is a great reminder of the valued untapped America that's still out there...Thanks
Tristan, I just got back from Banff, when hiking I thought "this is the kind of place Tristan would love". Haha, I thought about you on my vacation. It's not that far from Idaho.
Thanks for watching! The little steering wheel desk I used in this video is surprisingly useful, and it's less than $10 on Amazon (as of posting this link). You can pick one up here: amzn.to/3DikHBw -Tristan

Thanks Tristan....I was just going to ask where you got that neat little steering wheel table 👍. Over salted hard bagels- not good!
I enjoy your videos. 1.) Because of my low vision, I haven't driven a vehicle, on the road since 2016. 2) At the age of 74, I am content to watch young people like you, show me the great scenery & views. Thank you for the views & commentary.

Finally catching up on the last few videos while on the road. That was the best ad for herbal tea I've heard at 5:05 😆
Tristan boils a cup of tea - Tristan eats a bagel sandwich - LIKED and SUBSCRIBED!
Just love the research and information that you give!! Makes your videos so much more interesting! For some one like myslef that can not do strenous hikes and longer it is so nice to see these through your eyes!! Thanks 😊

Truly mind blowing hikes with best views. The scenery is just mind blowing.
Same here! I love Tristan’s videos!
This was a dream trip. Thank you for taking us with you!
Awesome video. They keep getting better as well as your enthusiasm. Wyoming is a great place !
I slept in my Subaru at that area several times - thanks for bring me back that memories. Beautiful place for driving and camping!
Beautiful video Tristan, you are blessed & thank you for sharing that blessing with us.
We are hiking Sacred Rim tomorrow! Perfect timing. Love the videos. Thank you Tristan
I love your videos, adventures, and useful/interesting information. I audibly gasped at this opening scene. AMAZING!!!
I really enjoy your videos. Please don’t stop making videos
Great video and scenery. I learn new information on each video. I loved how comfy the Landcruiser has proven to be. Thank you!
I absolutely enjoy, watching your videos & travels. A little envious, in good way. Looking forward to more.
Just found your channel, really enjoying it!! My heart skips a few beats every time you get close to the edge on the mountain. Such awesome scenery, Love Wyoming. So glad I found your channel!
The drone footage of the Red Hills was awesome!
We got to hike to Sacred Rim last year…what a view! Thanks for the memory.
Stunning all the way thru ! Great footage.
I got vertigo watching you have your tea. Wow!🦌💌❤️🚙
Thank you for not gatekeeping the spot!
The land Cruiser looks 👌🏻👍🏻
I love these videos. Thank you.
Wyoming.... Where I truly fell in love with the mountains. I lived in Colorado Springs as a kid and liked the mountains then but when I flew into Jackson and saw the Tetons..... My heart has never been the same!! I *need* to get back there and soon!! 😊
The Tetons are unreal. Definitely one of the gems of the western US!
I named my firsrbeagle Teton b/c I too fell jnlove w/ these mtns.
Those mountains reach someplace deep deep deep into the psyche and stirs the ancient wanderer in humanity. Breathtaking while at the same time so grounding and safe. A true oneness with such an incredible planet you've given us this morning! Thanks again, as always😁
Well said! Thanks Lisa

You show the best places!! Thanks
Very well done! Awesome country!
Beautiful ❤️❤️
Epic is the perfect word to describe this area. Absolutely beautiful! Thanks Tristan for taking us along.
Thanks Susan!
Thank you very much, Tristan.
Thanks Gary!
Wow! Thank you Tristan.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much.
These areas are very simular to several areas in Norway. Awesome! Greetings from Norway!
Yes, Norway is gorgeous too👍
We watched this video at camp this morning with coffee and a fire. We loved our two trips to that area and happy to see these gorgeous pictures.
That waterfall and those hot springs we’re inviting. One for us to ‘pin’. Thanks for this beautiful journey Tristan.

Wow! What a huge landslide! Almost a century old and you can still tell where it happened!

You always capture the best views!
love the video wish I was there.........
Kinda crazy how much better those Red Hills stood out in the aerial footage compared to the ground-based shots. Beautiful contrast with the greens.
Agreed! The view from the road was good but not amazing.
Great video Tristan thanks for sharing.
Amazing scenery and Waterfall!👌
It's always fun to see a new waterfall 👍

Tristan, just when I think you've covered the West you find more beautiful places. Thank you very much. 🌲🌲🌲
My poor wife she pleads with me so she can eat in the car,but nothing doing rain, snow, hail or tornado no eating in the car:)
Thanks for the tour. I have a memory that you photographed a fox in the Teton area. Probably one of the most beautiful photos I’ve ever seen.
Yep, I went to Grand Teton National Park in winter, and a fox just hung around where I was camped for the night. Got really close!
Now that is what you call “ bird’s eye view”. WOW. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️😱
Lol well said!

Your drone flying is great. The views of the camp site and particularly the Red Hills was breath taking.
The drone footage adds such an incredible dimension to your videos. I really appreciate it when you can do that.
When you get the chance to fish, what type of fishing do you like to do, if you aren't limited by law to certain types of fishing in particular places?

Minor observation, at higher altitudes a cover on the pot will bring it to a boil much quicker.

Hi Candy, love your description of your adventures and moving to Montana! Makes me want to hurry up and get over there. I'm thinking of moving there or to WY and am just trying to make up my mind. If you don't mind my asking, which town are you in and can you recommend other towns now that you've been there a year?
I love bagels but a hard bagel is not my cup of tea. Sorry you had a bad bagel.
Another place to visit close to Yellowstone Park is the site of the 1959 earthquake area which created the Hebgen Dam which created Hebgen Lake.
I visited Wyoming as a 16yo with my family, I always wanted to return to explore more of that beautiful state. Thank you for taking us along.

Some my favorite portions of your videos are the drone footage. Please continue to share when allowed. Fun to "join" you on your adventures.

Wow. Sacred Rim looks fantastic. The other stuff nice too, can always watch more (a lot more) drone videos. Thanks for sharing…
Thanks for the video, me being a french Canadian I smile when I hear "Grand Teton" because Teton means nipple in french ;-) Awsone videos thank you.
So you talked me into it. I’m in Coeur D’Alene. You’re right. It’s beautiful.
You did a great job describing a good way to see Wyoming in various levels. I was on several of the same roads in late August, including those shown today and the Greys River Road. You inspire me to keep exploring!

Beautiful area. That's interesting about that landslide. Amazing how quick something like that can happen. It most have really been storming and the ground was so saturated...probably from previous rains. The red orange color of those hills were stunning. Thank you for Sharing ❤️
BTW, try the pamplemousse flavor La Croix.
Thanks for sharing. I doubt I'll ever make it to that part of the world, but it's OK when I can see it through the eyes of someone else.
Good video.

Thank you for reminding me about how beautiful Wyoming really is.
Bedankt
Thank you for sharing. Gorgeous places!
Thanks for watching!
Tristan didn’t have a favorite part! This whole video was great! Grand Tetons, Bear, lake, everything accept wing! Wyoming is so beautiful!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏🚙
I like the views and the way you described you don't need but 1 destination to get started.
Adobe Town has been on the list for a while. I’m hoping to get there soon 👍
The Wedding Tree was my favorite spot. So peaceful! Sacred Ridge looked awesome as well, so glad you showed us around!
That entire area is amazing.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Next time you get to Jackson WY stop at Teton Village and take the tram ride to the top of the peak next to the Grand Teton.
Tristan, I just got back from Banff, when hiking I thought "this is the kind of place Tristan would love". Haha, I thought about you on my vacation. It's not that far from Idaho.
