If you are talking bout Normal Shelling, Pyre one(this video one) is so far the best since it has good slot for rampage deck plus Blast element also purple sharpness. For wide so far, its the final boss one or the cornpopper. But between these two,final boss one win on melee damage and sharpness. Long type so far has only one selection of Canyne one with the highest level on shelling but kinda sucks that the game didnt buff wyrmstake so its hard to fit in current meta.
In a vacuum where you have a monster to yourself, normal shell has the best time with its fullburst combo. Because it's a speed run and all things need to line up so the speedrunner can hit the monster as much as possible for the best time and is able to keep it downed quite a lot. Normal is the favorite right now. The gunlance in question has a lot going for it, Level 8 shelling 30 affinity purple with 1 handicraft A Decoration slot Level 2 rampup slot And to top it all off with Blast. You can match the damage with an appropriate element level 7 shelling gunlance but the blast puts it on top. The main weakness it has is the low raw, 300 makes attackboost % raw increase suffer a lot, at level 5 here it's only around 325ish, but getting 100 affinity is really nice and makes the total potential raw of the gunlance really high with little effort. I could be wrong especially when the newer updates come out, but ultimately if you dont have a super effecienct charm like the speed runner the other level 8 normal gunlances would be better with their naturally higher raw needing less investment right off the bat. But it's blast and affinity are really nice for damage

If you're asking about why is it so quick it's because the 2 palamutes turrets do silkbind damage so the mounting state is already going up. If you're asking how to mount the monster without sheathing it's in your settings you can set it so attacking the monster starts the wyvern ride, he also uses bullet barrage with erupting cannon which makes the full damage come out at once unlike with wyrmstake where the ticks of damage come a bit before everything.
I didn't see any animation cancels, he just did the usual full burst > wide sweep combo and full burst > erupting canon once. There was a couple of times he did the aerial slam but didn't follow it up with the full burst, so maybe that was it?
Waiting for the head to lower at 1:55 to get the full burst connection was so good!! Great run, I learned a lot from watching this.

For full burst style, this would probably be the best.
The final boss gunlance is the best option for slaplance, which is the only other viable play style in rise

@@ogfatalis2713 Rubbish. All the play styles are ‘viable’, and whether or not one in particular is optimal depends on your own skill level and style.

Is it better to run two palamutes now? I did it back on rise but since the palico got kittenator and stuff I switched back to 1 cat 1 dog.
if you are using a slow weapon and not a GOD like the speedrunners stick to one of each. otherwise 2 dogs are META in DPS.

Using the wirebug skill can maybe cancel that little animation.
