Isn’t it true that somatic mutations occurring in a zygote could potentially affect almost all cells in the individual (including egg and sperm cells) and therefore be inheritable despite being somatic?
Hi there, thats a very good question, but in most of the cases, mutations that affect all cells, the chances of survival for that individual is less then 1%. Even if the person survived they were most likely unable to make an offspring.
