This video is feedback to Insomniac Games in terms of the symbiote surge suit update as well as the Raimi suit back logo bug. Let Insomniac Games know how you feel about this change in the comments and keep it civil.
With the new Marvel's Spider-Man 2 update 1.003.000 release which gave us 8 new suits, we had a huge change to the symbiote surge, what we thought previously a symbiote surge glitch turned out to be a feature given to us by Insomniac, we could keep whatever suit we had equipped over the symbiote surge suit however now Insomniac fixed that by addressing feedback where entering Surge didn't transform players into the Symbiote Suit in New Game+, which now we can't use whatever suit we want, however in this video I will be testing if this is the case everywhere.

People was talking about only the suits that were not symbiote suits to change into the symbiote whenever you use the surge but if you already have a symbiote suit on allow us to use that as the symbiote surge suit. They definitely need to give us an option to turn it on or off

Hay remembered that new way to play as venom well that same exploit works with mj and young peter to. To play as mj start the level wake up and get out the house and then do the same exploit as you did with venom for freerom as young peter start the level photo help and get to the bit were you get off you bike and do the same exploit that you did whit venom.

I didn’t mind that it didn’t change before but I fell in love with it not changing because I would only use the symbiote surge with symbiote suits I wanted to use so I’m a little bummed that they did turn it back on but I feel like it should be an option.

Honestly one of my biggest complaints of this game is that they didn't add a separate section for symbiote suits and normal suits but they combined it instead.
I wish they had a button to transform to the symbiote suit whenever you want and turn back to normal, Instead of pressing the touch pad and change it manually which is kind of annoying from a immersion perspective.

I prefer the symbiote surge changing into the symbiote suit. The whole point of that was to show Peter letting loose, unleashing the beast, being more visceral. The Symbiote Suit appearing was a reflection of that. So honestly, even when I wear the Rami Black suit, I see the symbiote surge as what I stated above, a more wild and violent version of the black suit

I personally don't like this, I never complained about it. So I agree with you that it must've been a vocal minority of Spider-Man 2 fans. Because you asked to give a reason why I'll give you my personal reason, my reason is because I hate the inconsistency of it, I want to play as the classic Symbiote suit because that's my favorite Symbiote suit and I hate that when I go surge mode it changes. Look I'm fully willing to admit that it's part of my autism that I don't like inconsistency and want things to be the same, but I can't help it, I hate this.

Yeah, like I don't like insomniac's take on the Anti-Venom suit, & would rather surge with either the white version of the black suit or the white version of the surge suit

If anything they should add a feature change into the symbiote suit you like, like if I'm using the raimi suit, it would be cool to change into the black raimi suit and whatever

Yeah like a designated suit to swap over to, idk why they cant do that in cutscenes either cus the transformation is obscured by goop. This game prevents you form doing the fun canonical suit runs we all do - its like they dont understand HOW people play there games
See, I like the fact that when you use the symbiote surge, that your suit changes to the symbiote suit. That's cool. However, I also liked it when it didn't change because for story reasons, when I did my Toby playthrough, in the story he gets the Anti-Venom abilities right. I figured well, I'll still use the abilities but continue to use the Toby suit during it and I really liked that. If they can make it happen, I hope that they can make it optional for which symbiote suit shows up during the surge mode. We've got so many options because of the reskin options they gave us for them all. If I want to use the surge and it turns into the comicbook symbiote suit that would be awesome or once again, if I'm using the Toby suit or (Rami) suit, that while I'm wearing the red and blue one, I use surge and it turns into the Spider-Man 3 black Toby suit. If that makes sense. We have toggles for what color we want tendrils or whatever they're called, we have all these wonderful features. If they could figure that out and implement that into the game somehow, that would by far be my favorite thing about the game. This one is off topic. I also wish that the spider arms and symbiote abilities could be toggled off completely. If I parry an enemy I don't see anything pop out of my back or anything. I just see Spider-Man blocking with his normal two arms and having the same effect would be nice too. It would help immerse me in my gameplay again if using movie suits that you know don't usually have those abilities. But that's just a nitpick. Also, I know the new suits aren't liked by many people, but a couple of them are low-key growing on me. That one suit I think you're using it in the video. Has the leather jacket. I actually don't mind that suit. The mask is still a little weird, but the suit itself is cool. Anyway, those are my thoughts.
I hope they make it optional too. That would be the best case scenario!

I actually prefer symbiote surge the way it is. Peter keeping the same suit was cool but not seeing the suit actually switch was a little immersion breaking. The takedown animations always look cool no matter what but Peter swinging those tendrils around without a symbiote suit and can look goofy at times. I just hope the next game is fully finished when it comes out and we don’t have to be complaining about what they’re missing or getting rid of months after release.

Nah i like the way it was before, they should've been gave us an option to choose what suit we want with our symbiote surge in the first place. Thats the point of having new game plus and all of these updates in the game, which is to take off the restraints and let us play the game how we want to play it, by giving us more control. Hopefully in the next update they will change it back, which might come out in September or October
They should just put a button like "Hold ■" to set as symbiote surge suit

I feel sorry for the devs first having to rush out this game, causing the story to not be as great as it should. People also set really high expectations for how the game ought to play, practically asking for Web of Shadows with an insomniac reskin. Now they have to constantly fix the game after the fact and try to meet the fans' expectations. I hope Sony lets insomniac make their art without rushing it out and they are able recreate the magic of the first game.
The white version of the symbiote suit looks like a better surge mode suit than the official anti-venom suit

Honestly I love the change into the Symbiote Suit cause it finally feels like what Insomniac intended in terms of the Symbiote being unique and it looks fricking awsome but I do also think they should give us the option to pick what suit we want to turn into when going Symbiote Surge

Why can’t Insomniac make it a toggle option? I loved not transforming into it when using the Raimi Black suit. But it’s cool to turn into it when using a classic red and blue suit. Gives web of shadows vibes. A toggle would be the best forward to please all players, and people like me who are mixed on it!
4:05 so apparently the spider logo issue for the raimi suit is only on performance mode not fidelity mode, I play on fidelity so when I saw this I thought it was weird I never had this happen so I decided to see if it's like that on performance and it happened, as for why it's fixed in photo mode my guess which is probably wrong is that it switches to fidelity for photo mode so all the fidelity features are present for the photo then back to performance when back to regular gameplay.
Edit: Even tho it doesn't effect me I hope they fix it for those on performance mode.
I think people got used to it being that way after 8 months of being the same thing so they accepted it and had fun with what they had but the devs fixed it.
Reminds me of when they put a patch early on when you could go under the map and find kravens throne room. I miss that one honestly

Honestly, I thought that in this update we wouldve gotten something that would allow us to turn off the change into the symbiote suit when going into surge or having a mini menu where you can choose what suit to go into for surge because now the white symbiote suit gets overtaken by the black symbiote suit but if you want the suit youre using to be used as surge go into replay mission

I want symbiote surge to change the suit but I would really like it if there was a setting to select any suit for symbiote surge
They should make it to where you can select a specific suit as your surge suit. That way you get the best of both worlds. Some people can set the symbiote suit and others can select the Raimi or classic black suit. Or any suit they want.

I’m actually glad they put this feature back in ng+ before when the suit wouldn’t change I didn’t feel the impact of the symbiote taking over. And I found it quite immersion breaking using the advanced suit and surge wouldn’t change. Although I think it would be cool to set up on option to choose which symbiote suit you change into when entering surge mode
Me personally, would like to see every symbiote/black suit [for peter] have a surge variation

I think it should have two suit slots for Peter. One for the normal suit, and one for he actives the symbiote. For example, you start off with normal Raimi suit then you activate the symbiote and change to the black suit, or any other suit you want.
Literally the obvious answer form the start - would fix the forced Advanced Suit 2 cutsceenes
first everyone complains changed so they fixed it, now that its how it should be yall want it back to how it was in the first place like give the devs a break. yall ask for too much sometimes

They should just make a toggle to switch it on or off but if you want it on you can choose which suit the symbiote surge looks like. I’d love to play as the regular Raimi suit then transform into the black Raimi suit with symbiote surge.

Two other things I we kinda want is extra symbiote finishers (including symbiote surge finishers) and when they were developing the game I was expecting for them to add symbiote styles for every suit peter has. When the game released I was disappointed that they didn't do that and it sort of defeats the whole peter in the symbiote suit plot
Yeah we all thought that would be the case but that would be so much work, however when the game officially releases on PC I am sure modders will create symbiote styles for each suit.

Since the game came out, we’ve gotten updates that have added new game plus, mission replayability, ability to swap tendril colors, the ability to swap parry animations, and the ability to turn on the Spiderverse stop motion animation. After all of this, we really don’t have any business complaining so much. They’re working on giving us story DLC and hopefully fixing that new minor bug with the Raimi suit spider logo. At this point, we’re just being spoiled asking for more.

At this point Insomniac should just stop listening to player feedback on meaningless details like this. At some point they have to realise that no matter how much customisation they add, it's never gonna be enough for these people.
To make everyone happy, they should make it Toggle, let you choose a symbiote suit to use for Surge. But personally, I enjoyed the previous Update before the fix

I swear Spider-Man 2 has to be the game with the most disappointing symbiote mechanics and implementations my god the way the flub this up each update lol
After you finish the game the symbiote surge is bugged when you replay main story missions but in a good way so if you use symbiote surge the suit won’t change so you can use any symbiote or any suit and it won’t change the appearance which I like
I wish the symbiote surge suit didn't change. But there's a easy fix to this. Let us pick what suit we want for symbiote surge. Also, I still see spider-arms popping out of nowhere with my symbiote suit even though I've disabled spider-arms and activated symbiote for abilities. Hope they fix it.

wait wait wait let me get this straight so you guys are playing the same story and missions over and over? jus with different suits?
I always thought it would be so cool if you could choose which symbiote suit you would change into when you would go in surge mode. But that would probably be asking way too much
I still think they could have implemented a 3 suit select screen "Normal", "Symbiote" And Surge. and have a button press to switch between Normal Suit +`Spider-Arms abilities and A Symbiote Suit with Symbiote Abilities and finally surge mode would put you into w/e suit you chose as the surge suit. Also they could just let you choose w/e suit for each stage, so you could just select Last Stand Black variant for all 3 and that's that. =] Or you can have Classic Black Suit as "normal" with no symbiote abiltiies, press a button to switch to Insomniac Black suit with Symbiote abilities then surge mode changes you to the Surge suit.
I’ve noticed that one of the glaring issues is what suits this game considers to be “Black” or “Red” (Symbiote and Anti-Venom)
Any suit that uses White webs is considered a Red suit and any suit that uses Black webs is considered a Black suit
If you wear any of the Red suits, it will default to the Spider Arms (White Tendrils if Anti-Venom) for the abilities, Anti-Venom suit during Symbiote Surge, and the UI will be orange
If you wear any of the Black suits, the game defaults to the Black Tendrils, Symbiote suit during Symbiote Surge, and the UI is blue
For some reason, the Raimi Black suit isn’t considered a Black suit. The UI is orange, it uses White webs, the Spider Arms for abilities and will equip the Anti-Venom suit in Symbiote Surge
I think the reason for this is because the suit used white webs in the film, but so did the Classic Black suit in the comics
I’m fine with the game forcing us to wear the suits during Symbiote Surge but I don’t understand why the Raimi Black suit isn’t considered “Black”
You have to change the settings every time you want to wear that costume in order for it to behave like it but not for any of the other ones
P.S. I noticed that the ITSV suit for Peter doesn’t have ITSV web wings, just the normal ones

There NEEDS to be an Option where you can toggle If it tuns into surge suit or Not. Before the Update there were a total of 17 different symbiote suits you could use ( suit Styles included) now you are Limited to two.
I prefer the Surge Mode as it is after this update. Why? Because it lost it's luster for me when NG+ "glitched" it before. I wouldn't mind a toggle but don't outright revert this change.
Man, I dislike completely the symbiote surge suit, I was happy with the classic sysymbiote with that abilities 😢
2:05 I haven't seen that work for me, I spend hours swinging around doing active crimes and I only get the Spider-arms on every symbiote suit. It just doesn't work for me.
I actually like the change the tendrils look weird in other suits and it feels like i have two suits on so yea i perfer that but yea there should be an option for it to change or not
Honestly, just like the suit tab they should just add a tab beside it saying "surge suit" so then we can pick 2 suits to play with, one being our default and the other only active in surge mode
I don’t mind it actually transforming if it’s a option to keep on or off and the ability to choose which symbiote suits to appear in surge mode after the main story(not counting NG+), otherwise 🙁
I liked the fact i can use any black suit and get that effect i had no problem when i hit l3 and r3 to changed my suit mid transformation to the surge if i wanted. I think it provided more customization one moment ill be in the classic black suit and switch to the black spider man 2 suit. But this update makes no sense as well like what if i have the red symbiote surge suit would it just change colors
Toggle would be the best thing, i like the changing surge but then on certain suites i like for it to stay the same but eliminating it all together wouldn’t leave any room for growth with the surge like changin what color way symbiote suit you change into (anti-venom/black suit ver2) with maybe an addition to more tendril colors but i feel like if they do this it would be with the carnage dlc
Im mad that the Symbiote surge is back If I wanted to use it I would wear the suit I want to use the tasm suit or the Bully maguire suit wirhout the surge
Yeah idk if surge overlaps I would at least like to choose which symbiotic suit the game changes to in surge. So like play as tobey, but then surge changes to black suit tobey
I feel like this should've been solved forever ago. 1st you choose your main suit. Then have them add a secondary suit that you can swap to using up on the dpad, that way you can have the red and blue, then have an alternate suit to change to for a symbiote change. Then you can select the surge suit, or just toggle it to be the suit your wearing.
There should be an option in which you can turn on/off this feature or even choose which suit you want to use while surge mode 😉

I think people meant that they probably would love if you could choose what kind of symbiote suit you want to turn in like using Ramys Red and blue suit and when using the surge you turn into the black one
insomniac should just let us toggle it in the gameplay settings like the spider legs/symbiote tendrils

I was ok with it not changing. If i went into surge mode with a non symbiote suit i switched to the antivenom color and my headcannon would tell me these are webs not tendrils😅
Yes please. A toggle would be perfect. Cause i love the suit, but sometimes it doesnt fit and breaks my immersion
Did Insomniac has an option to actual mage sugestions to the develompers? Dude we need an option to select the surge suit with what ever color and suit we want. Thats the actual solution
I personally prefer it switching as it gives a option to switch from a red suit to the symbiote suit in game so I think it should be a toggle option or sum thing along those lines
Id like the new rare finishers to appear more often or atleast make it based off the suit you're using.

I agree making it a toggle so that those who what the symbiote suit on while in surge happy and same with those who just want the symbiote surge with out the symbiote suit on. I would really think that would be a great and best choice for the community thus we are all happy.
