  • Discover the SLAB SYSTEM, our range of tools specially designed for cutting, handling and installing large-format porcelain sheets.
    Porcelain sheets are increasingly common, and for this reason, RUBI offers the setter a selection of tools specially designed to meet the challenges presented by these special materials.
    The SLAB SYSTEM has large format cutting solutions, like the manual SLIM CUTTER or the tile saw TC-125, the best solutions for cutting porcelain plates of the big formats that are now in high demand on the market. And it is completed with the range of transport and handling elements, SLIM EASYTRANS and SLAB TRANS HEAVY DUTY, our solutions for the handling and installation of these materials.
    Being aware of the evolution of these materials, and putting the needs of the professional first, RUBI has incorporated some accessories into the SLAB SYSTEM family, such as the SLIM SEPARATOR or the SET OF REINFORCED BARS
    The SLAB SYSTEM is, most definitely, a set of tools that offer the greatest guarantee when working with large format pieces.
    For this set of tools, as in most of the RUBI catalog, the collaboration of sector professionals and end users has been incorporated during the design and creation process; this joint work allows us to sell products with guarantees that meet the needs of our most demanding customers. The RUBI brand is known for its great durability and the quality of its tools. For more than 65 years, RUBI has only manufactured products with high durability and resistance, in order to give the best performance in the toughest working conditions and to adapt to the demands of each market.
    The cutting system SLIM CUTTER is specially designed for the manual cutting of porcelain sheets of large formats and thicknesses between 1/8 and 1/4 inches. For thicknesses equal to or greater than 1/4 inches it is necessary to use the SLIM SEPARATOR.
    The advantages of this system are: the great ease of transport thanks to its compact design and nylon bag; its versatility in adapting to different formats; its simplicity of use; and the ability to make the cut without the need to move the plates. It is a system designed to enable users to make the first cut before moving large format porcelain sheets, which are very fragile due to their dimensions and their reduced thickness.
    On the RUBI website, you can find a file of photos and videos properly classified for each tool, which will help you to know a little more about the product. The videos show the most important uses and applications of each tool. You just need to search the catalog, and choose the product, there you will find all the information and audiovisual support you need.

      @@RUBITools hi thanks for your reply, a so high cutting speed is it suitable for porcelain tile? it seems to me that you are working with more than 80 m/s it's a crazy periferical speed for an hard material like porcelain tiles

      Hi Stefano. You should have no problems at all cutting porcelain with the TC125. Just make sure to use a blade that's adequate for cutting porcelain.

      @@RUBITools Many thanks for your reply. While I was reading your answer I supposed that it must exist a more fundamental relation between speed (arbor rpm) and disc diameter rather than material hardness and periferical speed. Am I right? I appreciate any help to make me better understand how do you design you cutting device.

    • @RUBITools
      @RUBITools  Год назад +1

      Hi Stefano. There are many factors that determine whether or not you can cut a material. However if you have a TC125, the rpms will be enough to cut any materials with no problems as long as your blade is correct. Different blades are made of different qualities of diamond grits and different body materials and thicknesses that allow us to cut differente materials. That's why using the right blade is so important.

    Hi which is approximately the feed rate? In other words how long it should take to cut 1 m of porcelain? thanks

    • @RUBITools
      @RUBITools  Год назад +1

      Hello Stefano. That depends on many things. It depends on the blade that you use, whether you are dry cutting or wet cutting, how thick the material is, and other factors. Generally speaking, we can tell you that the machine cuts quickly. We use it all the time to cut porcelain as thick as 2cm, and it doesn't take all that long.

      thanks for your reply and I really appreciate you help. I use a circular track saw with a 115 mm turbo diamond blade. My circular track saw can reach about 6000 rpm under load. I did by myself a larger flange to keep the blade "locked" in its position. I have no absolutely chipping when I cut especially when I made a miter cut but it's hard to slide trough the guide when I try to make a faster pass. I use to do a score cut at beginning and later with a second and third pass I finalize the cut. I hope to read your answer as soon, bye

      We aren't quite sure what you are trying to ask asnymore. But don't push on the saw very hard. Let the saw determine the speed of the cut. You won't go much faster by pushing harder and you'll use up your balde quicker.
