- As a young adult, John sensed the call to surrender his life to bring glory to God and reach Tibetan Buddhists in the Himalayan region for Christ. Listen as John shares how he started in full-time ministry among Tibetan people, their culture, and encouraging stories of persecuted Christians in the region.
Tibetan Buddhists’ beliefs often mix traditional Buddhism with existing shamanistic beliefs of the region. In tightly-knit communities, those who come to faith in Jesus face persecution from families and the broader community.
John connects established Tibetan Christians with new believers to share their experiences of persecution and faith, preparing the new believers for what may come. Listen as John shares encouraging stories of young people finding hope in Jesus.

@@pavanteja9601 these are newer, evangelical Protestants. Christian/Catholic monks went to Tibet hundreds of years ago. They suffered persecutions at that time. These Catholics converted people in the Lhasa region. But they have not grown.

@@bornbranded29 I just finished reading about missionaries in Tibet written by the people themselves in first person . No where they said they were persecuted , in fact they were provided all kinds of provision and respect accorded to them , it was just that God was incapable of converting any Tibetans those times . May be now if there are some zealous missionaries ready to suck into Chinese jails should try to visit Tibet. One thing these missionaries never succeeded was that idea of God the creator … Tibetans would never accept anything that exist out of nothing … this they found simply irrational and infact quite dumb. If only they teach kindness, compassion and love .. . But in that Buddha is incomparable.

As a buddhist. I thank the good intentions of christian brothers with Their idea of “saving” us. As a buddhist intention is the key. And if you are not able to convert buddhist into christian please dont force them. In your language, maybe god has plan for them. So please leave them alone. Do not force your truth on others.

If you really are going to make such a though trip might as well buy useful things that people will be grateful for. Book is just a compilation of papers which most likely in the hands of people who have to live real lives it is just a resource. I would suggest warm jackets and good shoes instead of paper.

My friend in Vietnam is a Buddhist but I think it is only in a traditional way and not really a religious way. I sent her a Bible in Vietnamese and I have prayed with her over the phone numerous times and she said she believes in Jesus. However I think she is a bit worried about finding a church and she doesn't know any Vietnamese Christians but I will keep praying for her. Please if any of my Christian brothers and sisters are reading this please can you say a prayer for her she is called Que.. thanks Jamie

Thank you for this. I am visiting Bhutan in April from Australia. Please pray for me. I will also be staying for 3 days with the family of a Bhutanese man i have met in Perth. He and his wife are questioning. I dont know if there is a Bhutanese bible!
there will never be one because Bhutan have had all the knowledge they need carved and etched into stones, walls, monasteries, and all over the country. I doubt there will be any significance in your journey other than giving the family money. It is very exploitative to target people like this and especially if they are on the poorer side.
calling current tibetan buddhism as shamanistic is a big stretch, there are schools that have remained more shamanistic (bön and nyingma) compared to the others

Buddhism is the true religion. This world is decaying and all you have to do to be saved in the next life is to praise the name of Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of infinite light and life. You will be reborn in his land, where you can hear the holy Dharma and reach true salvation.

@@Yesica1993 He didn't have to, because there's no fallen nature and no original sin to be redeemed from, the evil of this world is the result of Karma and nothing else.
The buddha is not The GOD. Indeed buddhism rejects the idea of that. But Buddha is a teacher very capable and his methods are ways to release suffering from our lives. But we need to work to get that redemption. It’s to have a hands on experience.

Tibet the land itself and Tibetans of all kinds are deeply connected with Buddhism because it has been with us for eons. The landscape and the harshness of living in the toughest place has opened the hearts and mind of our people and give meaning to us. Who are you to come here and think you are going to save us when we clearly already have the answer. Is it not true that Buddha's presence was 5 centuries longer than jesus. It seems as though he was only a messenger but the teaching of buddha was so profound peasants started worshiping him as god.
Jesus Christ is the answer. He ALONE died for sins and rose again. He ALONE can offer salvation to those who repent and turn to Him. Repent now, while He still grants you breath to do so!

Buddhists meditate to lead a better life and other religion believe in superstition to control your mind. The processes in both religions vary but it is the end result that really matters. @@Yesica1993 Each has our own path and our own belief. It is Christian's belief that non-Christian is eternally lost without Christ..but that is certainly not others' belief. Buddhists believe we have our own connection in each life and progress through lives, so it is more accepting of people of different levels of consciousness development and thus more suitable to a different faith. From a global point of view, this type of openness promotes peace; and the type of faith that believe only their view is the right view, is more aggressive and forcing, not ideal for a world where there are so many differences. Also His Holiness Dalai Lama stresses often to his followers of Christian faith that they should not confuse themselves by switching to Buddhism, but instead embrace the essence of buddhism - ie. "Compassion for all and the reality of phenomena" and continuing their lives as good Christian, practicing these 2 values.

It doesn't matter what anyone believes. It matters what is factually true. The claims of the Bible are attested to through the eyewitness testimonies of its writers, through the historical record, through fulfilled prophecy and other evidences. Either Jesus Christ rose from the dead or He did not. If He did not, then it's pointless to follow Him. If He did, then He IS Lord and everything He said is true.
There is no other religion that offers the atonement and pardon for sin offered by Jesus Christ.

@@Yesica1993 let go of the fear and superstations you're pushing onto other people. Religion will slowly disappear progressively as we make more scientific discoveries. Science is the only way to "god" and we will eventually rise above as we uncover the mysteries of the universe and get closer to understanding it all. For example, Why is it that people of the modern age scoff when ancient people believed in primitive rituals that they practiced to please the "god(s)" for rain, for good harvests, or when there was something they did not understand. Know that knowledge is the only way to truth.
Also I don't mind that people who are afraid of the truth but want to live a blissfully happy life, religion is a perfect mechanism for them. I support the good message that religion teaches and encourages people to practice. However, Don't compare your superstition with the truth. Focus on the what your meaningfulness of your actions on the world and all beings.
I hope people aren't sitting behind microphones talking to people far far away with a mask on. That would be one exhibit of faithless cowardess and stupidity...but we see it everyday.
Joy- maybe think of it another way. This video gives me a reminder and a strategy to pray for Tibetan Buddhists and Christian brothers and sisters. That has value to someone like me. May I ask how long you’ve been a Christian? Not to say you are of ANY less valuable or loved if it’s been 6 months or 60 years since you were saved.
@ryanparris1021 it is good to care about others well said. However, preaching the truth should be done properly. For instance, preach something that can be understood through science and experimentation. The truth not fiction. Before you say anything look at all the decayed sculpture of "gods" have been used and thrown by anciendt humans just to control through fear in our minds. This is what will happen in the future as well.
I am a christian in a free world. But since I am living in a free country, I can not live a life what God says for a christian and I wish I was born in opposite world.

Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.

Furthermore, it is only the most plausible answer as to why your religion shares many core philosophies that were discovered by Buddha because it had already been mainstream enough for Middle easterners to come in contact with it.
