For any non undertale fans when it says "resist death" its referring to how any non-white souls have a chance to refuse (which can also be manually achieved through right clicking on the human while the soul is in half). This only applies however if you kill the human while they still have the soul. Other wise they are just a particularly unhealthy vanilla human.
