Great job, you cover all my pet peeve topics that there is common misinformation about, and the list of your vids that I refer people to just continues to grow, keep it up! :)
Idk there are a few games I’ve played stretched, that I could never probably play native again. I’m working on going back to native, because i personally feel like stretched makes life easier for hitting targets
thanks, because of this i will only use streched res in games with an fov slider, so currently warzone and apex. Fortnite and valorant will not be streched
I understand that it might be a disadvantage but it just looks good and is better for aim... for my friends, stretched res works fine, but when I do it its delayed for some reason (I have a mid tier pc and they have low end)
stretched resolution isnt about fps or fov for most people tho..... Its about stretching the image horizontally to make targets wider. if i played 90 fov in R6, and swapped from 1920x1080 to 1440x1080 im INCREASING the amount of pixels that represent my target from left to right, thus making the target LARGER
You should do an updated video because I have heard "GPU scaling" is different to "Display scaling" with "CRU" (Custom Resolution Utility). Also, I can notice a difference in delay when I use Display scaling with CRU on 1720x1080 as soon as I switch to it, but I can also notice that my fps is -50 then what it is on native 1920x1080, it's like even with -50 fps the input delay is still lower and feels more responsive. Please do a latency benchmark, if possible. I have looked around for so long to find the right answer between the two and I know your videos are really informative so it would be good to know which is actually better.
Can you make a video comparing it with Nvidia reflex low latency because i know that with that on it sends data to the gpu more than the CPU so wouldn't that mean even on high end builds you would get less delay?
I dont know, I tried streched, and the game looks laggy asf, like someone pouring sand into my eyes. With a 75hz monitor I had more then 150 fps, but still it felt much worse then native 1080p.
I love 1680x1050 I hit way more shots and it's just more appealing the down fall is fov. Causing bad awareness. Will switching to the alternative resolution make everything back yo normal?? Not stretched at all?? If so I don't think I'd o ot because my aim will definitely be worse.
im on 1060 3gb and i5 11400f do u think lower res will help me? ps. not all people use streach fro the fps some just prefer seeing wider player models makes it easier to hit them even if its a placebo effect
Hey man i have this bug when i put 1280x1080 or 1280x1024 its like normal res but i wanna use 1720 x 1080 and when i put the 1720 x1080 everything is so thin and like skinny so do u know how to get the normal res back?
Never use it ?? bro when I play on native resolution I get 10 fps in arena or pubs when i go in creative i get 30 when i got to strech arena and pubs 30-50 and creative 80-100
No dude, cpu bottleneck means the GPU is running at 90%. If the GPU is running at 99% it's fine Lower the resolution the more you get into cpu bottleneck They can't ban anything, the resolution is controlled by the GPU or monitor, it's like banning 21:9 or 32:9 resolution because it gives you a better FOV , complete rubbish
I have 1050 2gb, i5 8th gen and 8gb ram, what res should I use? I used to play native then 1680x1080 now I'm on 1440x1080. After watching this video I'm not sure what res to use
You must’ve been doing something incorrectly. It’s been 5 months obviously, but if you’re still having this issue, watch one of ItsJerian’s recent videos on it. That should definitely help
As you say it's subjective/preference, so it definitely doesn't make it "objectively" easier to hit shots, since there's no logic to that. I think Jack was sticking to the facts. If you want wider targets you could, for example ... sit closer to your monitor, there's no reason making the enemy thicc is going to help, when your crosshair is just getting stretched too ...
@@hecksmith Stretched res helps you hit more shots because the character takes up more space on your screen. The hit box doesn’t change but it is still easier to hit shots. It’s like frame rate, having a higher frame rate makes it feel like your character is moving slower even though it isn’t. Sitting closer to your monitor doesn’t have the same effect because the character models still take up the same amount of space as they did before, you’re just more zoomed in and that is not the reason why stretched res is good, that’s actually the downside of stretched res, you are slightly more zoomed in giving you less fov which makes your awareness a bit worse. If you tried to sit closer to your monitor to get the same effect you would have to sit so close that it would be bad for your eyes and give you even worse awareness than stretched res.
@@hecksmith Try it, you can’t tell me it isn’t easier. You also just ignored the part about frame rate or the fact that the character models take up more space on your screen thus making it easier to hit shots. Try stretching the Y axis instead of the X axis and you’ll find that it is actually harder to hit your shots.
@@ryanfnm7666 You see the problem in the fact it makes your crosshair wider too? It's not just "easier to hit targets" since everything is scaled up, _including_ your crosshair. That's why it's entirely subjective. There's no objective benefit.
@@cristiann02y It’s not bannable at all, it’s just a third party system that’s not considered cheating as you can simply go into Fortnites game settings on Pc and pick your own FOV, however if you do it’s no where near the old FOV
Display scaling has lower delay u wont see it cause fortnite measures input delay but changing resolution changes delay of your monitor its quite a big difference unless u are running sub 60 fps I wouldnt even use gpu scaling

keep it up! your content is the best ❤️
Your videos quick and fast really like it and u keep it short 💪🏼
on native I get 60-100 fps, on a streched rez like 1024x768 I get 160-200 fps
man ur content is so helpful
Been waitin for this one!
Straight to the point, good job
Most underrated channel of the fn community. Im watching all of your vids. Keep it up! U got a new sub
Let’s go been waiting for this thx for uploading my guy
How this channel only on 7k subs? I've watched all of your videos and they are all very high quality.
yea but do you know how hard it is to go back to 1920 after playing at 1440 for years?

on god
make ur way up go to 1538 then 1720 then 1920

I find that any other resolution that isn't native resolution ends up feeling more responsive, even with such a small decrease in resolution.

Val doesn’t matter since it doesn’t actually change fov

It's depends on your optimization
Stretch res are only good for low end pcs, if you have high or mid it will only bottneck your pc
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so basicly if you have a better gpu than cpu use native and if you have a better cpu than gpu use a lower res
Underrated bro.
Maintaining aspect ratio is definitely slept on for everything
2023 update: you can use stretched res because nvidia reflex boost unbounds cpu

Tbh i used streached rezz for 3 years and swiched to native yesterday and i had lower delay and fps was better
to update what he said now a Ryzen 5 3600 is a low mid to low end cpu and the 3060 is arguably still a high end gpu but is closer to high mid
Great job😊
But there is other advantages ingame right? Like enemies appearing wider close to you so it is easier to hit shots
Don’t be an idiot do as told
cpu bound unless you have nvidia reflex low latency on then you will see a increase in fps

i use 1080x1080 with fov slider and realy good look
for me streach res is the only reason I can play a real match

dumb question but this only applies to fornite right? Or does it also decrease fps in other games as well?
Expect for the fact how sexy and crisp 1750x1080 looks

it makes heads bigger thats why people use it
How do I change 900x768?
Just a question. Doesn't Martoz use stretched in competitive and arena? or no?
Yea. He changes his resolution all the time, but usually he's stretched I think
Soooo, streched resolutions are just bad in fortnite?
1680x1050 is better than native bc its not very stretched

Why do so many pros use stretched res though?
how can i make my game gpu bound
native res gives less fps comapred to stretch res same with input delay etc
MY GPU USES AROUND 80% GT1030 BTW
Compare it to 1024x768 1280x720 see the difference
I play on intel i5 12400 with igpu uhd 730 should I use 1280x720 if so what 3d res with what capped fps (im on a 165 hz monitor with 4x2 gb of ram)
so use 1750 by 950?
Yeah my cpu stays at like 50% and my gpu is at like 20-30% smh mannn i love stretch res tho
when i switch to full screen on fortnite my monitor hz cap to 60 any fix?
go to nvidia panel and change your refrsh rate
I would play with native if my fps was more than 50 30 while fighting I get 80 fps when fighting ingame with 1550x1080
