  • To achieve the RC conversion for the Tiger 1/35 Combat Boat 90, we develop this set of pump-jet engine with successful flow simulation and on-site voyage.
    This episode truly records the key procedures of the modification work. Pump-jet body is been designed into one piece, which is much simplified the craftwork and well adapt with original hull.
    No marine rudder for steering the boat but utilizing via differential speed. Thus, balancing the resistances on both shaftings are essential for equal propulsions.
    Considering healthy issue, we highly recommend our customer prepare low odor epoxy for hull assembly and reinforce for waterproof.

    just great ...
    I'll get myself too.
    How is the deck made? Can the electronics still be accessed?

      Late response, but his might help people that recently got the kit. The deck is removable. It fits tightly and stays in place without gluing. It has many hatches that are designed to open so you can see the detail parts in the hull. These parts need to be sealed tight since you will not be using any of the interior detail parts thus making the hatches not necessary. My one gripe is that the deck has many detail parts that easily snap off, and the deck fits very tightly so it's difficult to remove without breaking something. You just have to be very careful.

    Greetings. I know this is an old video. I ordered your conversion kit on eBay as well as the model boat kit. I can't wait to get it. My question is how sharply does the boat steer without any sort of rudder or rotating nozzles? I plan to run the boat primarily in my swimming pool so it has to be able to turn sharply. Your video only shows the model going straight so I have no idea if it turns sharply or if it only can make wide turns. I'll probably install a rudder since it looks easy enough to fabricate, but I rather not have to. Thanking you in advance for a reply.

    Nice work! Why do i have to remove the end tips and the thrustreverser? It just looks not right without them.

    I finished my model and I am not a fan of the two way vectoring ESC. It's not very smooth and when you go forward the motors don't exactly match in RPM thus making the boat always wanting to veer in one direction or the other. It is possible that as the motor brushes break in, the motors may match up better but only time will tell. In the meantime it's a real annoyance. The turning is also very wide so it's very difficult to run in a swimming pool where you need tight steering. I'm replacing the 180 motors with better quality ball bearing 180 motors and replacing the single vectoring ESC with two ESC's and and two 800 mAh battery packs. I have already fabricated a rudder and installed a steering servo with simple pushrod hardware. Overall the quality of the jet pumps and hardware is good, but the ESC leaves a lot to be desired. Chime in with your experiences since I'd like to know if this is an isolated problem or universal.

    Where did you get the differential steering/speed controller?

      We have cooperate company doing this, say for two-way brushed ESC for boat or tank. Such kind of ESC is easily could be find online as well.

    Got this kit from the ebay site. Fit and quality are perfect, couldn't ask for better. I have one question about the build though, where would you recommend for the centre of gravity?

    • @Hugo-ot7xu
      @Hugo-ot7xu  5 лет назад

      Hi, Paul great thanks! The only requirement on battery is not exceed 100 gram, 90 to 95 is fine. The battery we used is two in serial with 7.4 V output. A tough issue is our postal international airmail refuse to let the Li-ion battery on board. But I think it is easy could be find via local electrinic market. Not just the pouch battery but the 18650 is also recommend.

      Can you tell me specs of pouch battery I know 3.7v but dimensions and milli amps and any other info so I can find simular in UK thanks again

    • @Hugo-ot7xu
      @Hugo-ot7xu  5 лет назад

      @@paulclarke165 The battery we used is 700mAh. Personally, I think the battery varies from 500 to 900 mAh is sufficient for 15 mins running. As we testing the current while the motor on high speed operating, just 1.2 Ampere. Thus, just ordinary pouch battery for cell phone could fulfill the requirements.

    Such a great idea. How is the water flow during reversing?

    • @Hugo-ot7xu
      @Hugo-ot7xu  6 лет назад

      Hi, nice question. The motor would correspondingly rotate in revering to turn the nozzle from propulsion to suction.
