We must admit you caught us off-guard yet we remember you sitting around our table and talking about your conflict of whether to keep it and fix it since it had been in your home for 122 years or whether to move on. I guess Minneapolis chose that for you. So where are you going because you know we're going home soon and we can't wait to see you again. Love to your beautiful family. Jim and Rhenda

    I am so sorry for your loss! I can definitely relate to what you've experienced. My husband passed in 2008 when my daughter was only 10. A couple of years later I became disabled and could no longer work. Having to leave nursing was devastating and I felt as my whole identity and purpose was gone. I was hospitalized in 2012 with an aggressive pneumonia and on a ventilator for 5 days, experiencing a grand mal seizure on day 8 in ICU. I went home on day 14 but it took 3 years to recover enough to be out of bed and move around. I had no family or friends to help except and was raising 2 girls. My youngest has been diagnosed on the autism spectrum and my almost 3 acres has grown into a jungle with barn and garage in serious disrepair. We too have the city now just down the street from us with half million dollar homes just a mile away with an elementary, middle and high school all within 2 miles. Traffic is now so heavy it's difficult to get on the road in the morning and evening. I am wanting to move to a smaller place out in the country but concerned that I can't due to needed repairs that I cannot do and still having a mortgage. I can just pray and believe that God will direct us as to what is best for us. You do such beautiful and inspiring videos, touching hearts and emotions in each one. I am happy to see you're all on a path to new beginnings and great adventures. God is good and I look forward to seeing the next chapter. God bless you and your family. Y'all are precious.

    After much thought, I need to say that Minnesota is still a good state to live in. That expansion to the country from the city has been happening for years - not just this summer, not since the horrible riots that you somehow implied were chasing wild and disrespectful yahoo’s to build mansions up north. Sorry for your losses. Good luck always to you and your family. I hope you find the beautiful land and home you deserve. ❤️

    • @official180degrees
      @official180degrees  3 года назад

      My judgement to leave is not a judgement against you to stay. Likewise my negative opinion of some people who move from the cities is not a negative opinion of all people from the cities. I'm sorry you were offended. The reality is that I was very kind in how I described our new neighbors. I won't go into details out of respect for their privacy. An entire development of 500k+ homes sold in a single summer. All but one sold after the riots and all but one of those sold within about 30 days after the riots. I've been around the area for a long time. Even back in 05-06 that wouldn't happen and those were epic BOOM years. I respect your opinion but I get to have an opinion too. We don't have to agree about everything. It's okay to disagree. I'm glad to have you as viewer and I hope you keep following along with us. May God bless you Nancy. :) ~ethan

      @@official180degrees Thank you for your explanation which I didn’t deserve. Of course, your opinion matters. I respect that. This truly has been a year of heartbreak, changes and drama - all over the state and here in the city that has been my home for over 40 years. (In fact, violence has found its way right down the street from us.) I am saddened that your beautiful spot in the country has been blighted by the developments of those giant homes. Thank you, Ethan, for sharing your pain and your beautiful words. I look forward to your journey onward. ❤️

    I'm so sorry you lost your dad and friend. I'm sorry you had to join the club that unfortunately I had to join 31 years ago in dec. The I've lost my daddy club. It really sucks. My dad was only 53 when he died back in 1989. And I miss him everyday. I know what you mean about this being the worst year. My mom was told she has stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to 4 other areas. That was January 23rd. She was given 3 months. But they were wrong. She's still with us. She lives in an assisted living home. And then of course they locked it down in march. So I couldn't see her till hospice got involved. Now I can go see her. As long as I pass all the 40 questions and dont have a fever. And wear a mask the whole time seeing her. That has been hard on her. Not being able to leave her apt. And my sister cant see her, as she lives in Washington state and they have a mandated quarantine if they leave their state. And that is 2 weeks. Plus the 2 weeks here that they would have to do before seeing her. So we really have been living under 2 black clouds. The china plague and waiting for my mom to die. My hubby was laid off april 1st. From his job of 34 years as he was 61. And they at his work were afraid for their older employees. Things were ok with that till the end of july when the PPP loan ran out. And he had to go back on unemployment. In oregon people have been waiting for up to 4 or more MONTHS for any money to show up to us. We have had NO INCOME for 3 1/2 MONTHS now. We have used up our savings and piled on the credit card debt. My hubby also had to have surgery to fix a detached retina and had to pay the 9000.00 for that as it all went to his deductible. That was the middle of april. Took 3 months to recover from that. Now in December he has to have cataract surgery on that eye. Hopefully the insurance pays for that. I'm sorry to unload like this. But I dont know how much more I can take. Again I'm so sorry for your loss. And having to move. But I hope you pick a better run state. If there is such a thing. Dont pick another DEMOCRAT run one. I live in one, it sucks.

Dont know if my hubby will go back to his job. Beginning to think they are planning on not taking him back. Might have a lawsuit of age discrimination. We will see. I have been praying that we all get through this. Been praying for the whole world. Except china that did this on purpose. All the world should sue china. They have hurt millions and millions of people in so many ways.

      I think back to what the area was like when I was a little boy (or even when Sarah and I first got married) and it makes me sad too. Unfortunately you can't stop "progress". What a moving video. Guys, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your tribute was beautiful Ethan. Although I'm sad for you to be leaving your old farm, I have a feeling that this move could be the best thing you've ever done. I wish your family all the best.

    You brought me to tears. At first for your loss, then for the joy of what is ahead, and mostly for the choices you made to see joy in it all! I wish I could give you all a big hug. I have been praying for your family often. I knew there were many big challenges weighing on you and they were accompanied with difficult decisions. I will continue to pray as I know there are many more decisions ahead an much work to do to accomplish turning your new place into the home and homestead you desire. I just want to know if you stayed in MN or found a warmer place to continue growing your family?

    Wow! I'm so sorry for yours and your wifes loss. Your children sound like they'll have tremendous memories of tjeir Grandpa. So, your off to a new homestead. I'm betting Northern Missouri or maybe North Carolina. Somewhere far enough from any city that won't threaten your family. I pray your serch in bountiful and blessed.

    Life throws us all curve balls & hardships. What we do with them is our choice. I believe your choice to move was a good one. I think you all will be in a better place with more support. And I think you will be happier too.

    So many things to say, oh boy where to start? I have been a longtime viewer of this channel and subscriber. I often wondered how you guys were doing and how the house was coming along. Maybe i missed some videos but i watched this one. I was blindsided by all that was revealed. So emotional. I will just say , best wishes on your new chapter of life and hopefully we can be along for the ride with you.
