as you already know, tomato worms make great bait! I keep them in a cricket tube

Hi Chris you know about the Braconid Wasps they lay their eggs on the worm and they get inside the worm and eat it.then hatch and stay in your garden. The worm will have what looks like rice on it.the worm can not do any more harm to the tomato plant.just leave the worm on the tomato plant.

Yes, they are an Intercal part of organic gardening, I however, do raise a lot of monarchs and I don’t care for those wasps in my yard as they tend to attack the monarch larva as well. But under normal circumstances, if you didn’t care about butterflies, they would bebenefit to your garden. And perhaps there are different species that attack different larva I guess I’ve never looked into it that close.
But often times I’ll take the worms and I’ll give them to chickens or go fishing with them.

At 1:23 when you reference “there’s a few in there” what are you talking about? I’ve gotten tomato’s that look like that from underneath and I didn’t know why

Thanks for watching and what I was talking about was the amount of “fused blooms” the more fused blooms, the more bumps, lumps, and bulges you will see on your tomato, and means a bigger tomato at the end!!

Oh man... if there's anything that would limit me as a giant grower, it would be this. I find it soooo hard to prune plants in general, but I've never been able to bring myself to prune actual fruit 😭
I've also never seen a fused tomato with another disconnected piece on the same stem like that. Those giant genetics make some bizarre mutations!

You know about four years ago I was right there where you are I just could not cut a tomato off my plant because I was a normal grower before I grew Giants and your entire goal is biggest yield possible. I remember I just cannot get much over 4 pounds….. so the next year I switch stuff up look for a mega got that pollinated did extreme trimming and painfully took off every fruit except one…. That year I grew a 7.35 pound tomato…. The excitement picking that fruit was just as incredible as putting a 1400 pound pumpkin on the scale.
And yes we are dealing with the best genetics on earth with the most power in them and then on top of that we had in the best soil and nutrients a plant could ever get and then a little trimming that’s a perfect set up to get some of the craziest natural genetic mutations you’ve ever seen.

@@GardenofGiants Thanks for the response! Maybe once I get a serious monster growing I'll be motivated to sacrifice fruit for it. This year is kind of a dud for me as far as size goes (so far). The main plant I was hoping to get a giant from turned out to be a different variety than it was supposed to be 🤦‍♂️ But I do have some nice megablooms on a Supersteak and a Steakhouse plant!
The odd shapes kind of add to the uniqueness of each fruit, so that's a plus 😁
