I watched that game live on TV and I couldn't believe my eyes. What amazed me was that PSV looked for pretty much every attack to go through their 17-year-old striker, and then he simply goes on and scores 3 goals. Probably one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen from such a young player.

I was in the stadium at this evening. It was a fantastic match. One day later everybody in media was talking about Ronaldo. But no one mentioned Ulf Kirsten, player of the opponent Bayer Leverkusen. He also scored 3 goals at this match. And he played 100 times for both german national squads.
Ulf was a very underrated or underappreciated player.
But if you listen to his interviews about risking and joining other clubs he wasn't that brave Ronaldo had been.
Both were elite strikers.

Leverkusen had a fantastic team at that time. i recognised some players from different national associations USA for example, and Bernd Shuster, and Kirsten two great German players, and in the Psv Ronaldo had as teammate Luc Nilis from Belgium.
