Left Thurles broken hearted. Cork got the breaks on the day, but what a game, two great teams giving it everything for the jersey. Those were Tipps wilderness years. Now Cork are going through theirs. The greatest rivalry in Irish sport. Nothing beats Cork and Tipp in Thurles on warm July Sunday. The passion, the skill, the pride in the Jersey. The craic, between the supporters walking up from the square to the field.
@@feargal2433 hi ,it must have been some experience to be there, what an unbelievable atmosphere,an absolute epic match, love to have the full match, something to treasure
I watched this game on TV in Cork with 2 tech guys from Tipp. They were so pissed. Like really really pissed for years after. Never wanted to talk about that game. Any other game was fine but that game really pissed them off.
this was the first munster final i attended at the ripe old age of 13 as tipp had been in the hurling wilderness for years,, i still have the ticket stub £5!............i will never forget the roar when tipperary ran on to the pitch, noel o'dwyer with a fantastic point, jimmy barry murphy at his best, micheal doyles intercepted pass.......seanie learys goal ........but the cork folk seem to forget how micheal doyle ran a muck in killarney in '87 .................HON TIPP!
Denis Mulcahy's interception in which led to Sean O Leary's goal was Crucial. ..Cork were Going to die in there boots to the final whistle, Great Team.. Will Never forget them....when you think how Cork have Fallen in to almost a Division 2 Team now...its very disappointing. ...@paddy Sullivan
I think we forget was that Seamus Power the Tipp full foprward was playing great for them and had to move back because of Tipp injuries, I sat next to my dad and granda, we had ham sandwichs and teas in a field that is now a college....every cliche, greatest of memories....a rebel I was born, a rebel I will die, my proudest ever boast A Corkman Am I!!

The only time I ever recall Cork being outnumbered in Thurlas…

I was 6 and I was there. Devastating loss
That game was bigger than any All Ireland. Most memorable Hurling game ever. Too bad there had to be a looser.
Go on Seanie o Leary boy!,😆
Rip Sean o leary
From a Neutral point of view, no team deserved to lose that match, but they had be a winner.
JBM never lost a championship match vs Tipp and that's a fact! Dowcha Seanie kid!
@@portorportor8247 JBM has 6 All Ireland medals. 5 hurling and 1 football.
