@@phillyfan-182 It is TL fault since he was never that guy so he made a selfish decision instead of getting more reps in college. We never saw anything good from Lance in real live games. He played 8 games in college against weak opponents and still never made the playoffs. What did you all expect? Patrick Mahomes played multiple years in college. Jamarcus was lazy and emotional so he was good with more starts in college. He just did not want to do the work once he got paid.
Tasom Hill has made a position for himself in N.O. being a running QB and the ability to move around in different positions. Maybe Dallas should look at this for Lance?
No Tasom is a running back not a QB. He never throws. Everyone knows it is a running option. That is not good for Trey Lance long term. Cam and Luck are cautionary tales of what happens to athletic QB's on terrible teams.
Trey Lance is far from being a bust. The fact that he became the starting 49er quarterback his second season proves that he was worthy but he broke his foot in the second game. That changed everything and he was only 22 years old. The blame goes to Kyle Shanahan who got him inspired to quit college football after just one full season and one game the next season in 2020, the year the FCS shut down all the teams from playing that fall. 26 NFL scouts were at the last game he played so Kyle Shanahan got a good report on Trey which motivated Kyle to call Trey and his parents a couple of times which I believe is prohibited by NFL coaches to do. The reason I know that is because I watched an interview of Trey's parents in January of 2021 who talked about Kyle calling them and was excited about Trey entering the NFL draft. What I witnessed as a 49er fan since 1981, is Kyle Shanahan sabotaging another quarterback's career like he did with Jimmy Garoppolo who got the 49ers to the Super Bowl game after the 2019 season. Kyle got Trey Lance to quit college football so that Kyle could draft him to replace Jimmy. However, by the time Trey's second season began, many 49er fans had rejected Trey because they considered him not to be ready for the NFL which I'm sure affected the minds of Ted York and John Lynch who didn't approve of drafting Trey to replace Jimmy. I think the pressure got to Kyle and why Kyle turned Trey into a running back during the first half of the second game which is the reason Trey got his foot broken. I believe Kyle did that on purpose because Ted York and John Lynch got Jimmy G to play for much less money to stay on the team and they wanted Jimmy to be the starting quarterback. None of them were thinking about Brock Purdy, the rookie, to be the new hero of the 49er fans by replacing Jimmy after he was injured and won the next 5 games in a row and into the NFC championship game. Even though Brock was injured that game, his hero status made Kyle Shanahan decide that he would be the starting quarterback from now on. Trey Lance thought he would show the 49ers that he was still their guy in the preseason last year and compete against Brock Purdy who was still recovering from surgery only to learn they traded for a quarterback who threw more interceptions his last 2 years than TD passes to compete for backup to Brock. That slap in Trey's face was on Kyle Shanahan who didn't give Trey hardly any reps with the starters in preseason. When Trey Lance wanted to be traded after the second preseason game where he made a comeback win, Jerry Jones immediately called Jed York and John Lynch to make a deal to get Trey on his team. Now you sicko's are talking that Trey Lance at the age of 24 is a failed quarterback. Most college players who enter the NFL draft are just turning 24. I hope Trey Lance becomes one of the most successful Cowboy quarterbacks since Troy Aikman.
you are clueless.. the fact that 49ers traded there first round pick to a rival in the same division should tell you something!!!!!! he is the exact definition of a BUST!!!!!
@@DaaaBoooy You have no idea why Jerry Jones wanted Trey along with many other NFL teams who sent scouts to watch Trey play his last college game. The order was in by Jerry to draft Trey but the 49ers took him as the 3rd pick. Kyle Shanahan was so happy to get Trey and get rid of Jimmy Garoppolo. It was Trey getting his foot broke in his second game as the starting quarterback for the 49ers that changed everything. The reason he got injured is because Kyle turned him into a running back instead of a quarterback running option plays which Trey is good at. The minute Jerry heard that the 49ers were going to trade Trey who wanted to be traded, he was on the phone making a deal. I think Jerry is going to wait out signing a new contract with Dak to see how this season goes. He's getting very old and wants one more try for a Super Bowl before he dies. He's a very driven man and a very good business man so it's all up to him for the future of the Cowboys.
@@MoLiEG89 Agreed. The Raiders are better off with any of their current QBs over Lance. Though I doubt Lance would even fit on the Raiders' roster at all, even if he did switch position.
So we're just going to disregard him going to North Dakota State University....? Every damn year, another QB gets drafted because "he can really spin the ball ! "He can make every throw !" "He's your prototypical QB etc etc. Every year, we get to hear about some phantom QB who's going to be a great franchise guy yada yada...... Carson Wentz went to NDSU as well. We all see how he panned out in the league. I recall watching the Gruden QB camp and Gruden telling Carson that he would be a turnover machine in the pocket because he had poor ball safety while in a pocket. He turned into a fumbling machine. We see this every year, Mike. Trey Lance will not be the biggest bust in the NFL. He simply became a victim of bad luck and unfortunate timing.
Stetson played multiple years in college and he was drafted in the fourth round. Lance was drafted so high. He knew that he was not the guy so he should have went back to school for more reps. He made millions so it worked out. I guess dating a media personality's daughter did the trick. So stop feeling sorry for TL. He did this on purpose. He dumped the media personality's daughter so Lance knows what he is doing.
It’s incredible to me that anyone thinks that quarter backs can regularly be successful under Jerry Jones. Romo and Prescott were extremely lucky not to flame out under Jerry jones. I feel like if Trey Lance had some sort of functioning front office and support system he could at least be a decent QB
I don't think he is the biggest bust. It was the biggest reach by the 49ers who also have the distinction of one of the biggest steals since their Mr. Irrelevant looks like a ten year franchise QB
I never understood the Trey Lance hype. He barely played in college, and when he did, he destroyed poor/bad competition. While I didn't expect to see him become a bust, I didn't even believed he could be a 1st or even 2nd rounder. He is exactly what I thought he would be: An athletic guy, but not a real Qb. He only became a bust because teams thought they could turn him into Mahomes 2.0 Maybe If he can turn into a RB, WR or TE like Logan Thomas he can have some sort of playing time.
Fields has nothing to do with Lance. Fields never threw 5 interceptions in a game. What about Daniel Jones/Ryan Tannehill? they should be Taysom Hill. Mike tomlin already said that Fields will be a QB. Fields won games in college in the playoffs against Trevor Lawrence. Justin is a legitimate QB. Taysom was never a QB like Trey Lance. Trey Lance only played a few games in college so he was never that guy if he can not make it with a QB guru and loaded team. Trevor Lawrence was terrible with Myers in year 1 and still has a losing record.
I will also say this. Rush is 2nd string, but if Dak misses multiple games, Rush got one loss before they call up Lance! I’m not saying this is what I wish, I just know Jerry!
He'll more thank likely be a career QB3 or practice squad guy for the remainder of his NFL career. The dude is still very rough around the edges at year 4 in the league.
If he wants to be a starter in the NFL going to the UFL is probably his best option. He's played 1 season of football since his senior year of high school in 2017 & that season was at a FCS level. He's never developed his craft or talent & never should have declared for the draft. 1 or 2 years starting at a professional level in the UFL will either give him a chance to develop or solidify his status as a bust. Or he can bounce around the NFL for next few years as a backup/ practice squad guy.
I hope they just let him take the reigns next year and see what happens. Either he shows that he’s ready to run an offense, or they’re terrible and they draft a quarterback.
Lance looked worse than Purdy and Darnold at SF. So bad Shanny was shocked Jerrah offered a 4th round pick - he figured they'd be cutting Lance. He's a bust. Move on. Happens all the time. If he was a 5th round pick, he'd have been out of the league his rookie year. He's still flaying around because SF was so wrong about him
Way over drafted for not playing much at a small school. Niners got rid of him fast. Now 3rd string on 2 teams. 5 interceptions against subs and backups is bad. 😢
I don't think there's going to be very many people in the comments standing up for Lance, most of us who have watched him play and watch his film are where he is nowhere near ready to be a starting QB. I hope he improves if he still wants to play football and wish him the best

And if you're zach and you get an opportunity, but that opportunity is the jets, just know you're SOL!!! Better luck in the AFL i guess!!
If zach goes #3 to san fran this would be a completely different video! He would still be the starter today GUARANTEED.
I think it's more that he's just not an NFL caliber QB... this isn't college ball, college defenses
Hunger, whatever the fuck that is, doesn't make you learn something. Your advice is useless platitudes and hollow sound bites.
Cooper Rush is a legit back up as an eagle fan. I wish we had him.
LMMFAO @anyone that thought Trey would take QB1 from Dak. 😂
I would love for him to come to Bmore and be our back up. Even as a 3rd
4:56 theres no OT in preseason
5:42 He also played more than any one position, so that’s why his ore-season numbers are inflated; furthermore, pre-season PT is not a good thing. 🤷🏾♂️
No, the cowboys wanted TL to become a player you can trade for picks.
WE HERE! NFL, baby!
If the 49ers traded up to take Jordan Love instead of Aiyuk, they would have saved 3 first round picks and multiple super bowls with no end in sight.
@Mikerophonee0 what do I win? 🏆
Great video! The Cleveland Browns would take Trey Lance! Theyd take anybody! 😅
Trey over Dak is crazy 🤣
casual😹
@@abrahamtheking1336wtf are you even talking ab? Dak is still our qb1. Yall watch too many talkshows
@@cbaileychampmb I read it wrong I thought he was taking Trey over dak. obv dak is our qb1 BY FAR
trey lance dont deserve this
his teammates in the preseason sold him
I saw the writing on the wall when I saw Chase Daniel's video on breaking down Dallas' final Preseason game and Lance's playing. How in the hell do you commit 7 total turnovers in a pre-season game? 5ints 2 lost fumbles. Holy shit.
Trey lance played 19 games started 17 and got crazy hyped
Cowboys fans: something has to change for us to be contenders.
Jerry Jones: I know, I will extend Choke Prescott for more money.
I believe Copper Rush has dirt on Jerry Jones because how is he ahead of Lance 😭
Delusion is a good description.
Trust me, the quarterback situation with the Titans is the worst. They keep getting quarterbacks in the draft and idk if they have terrible luck but Malik isn’t even on the team anymore and Levis isn’t it. We’ve been cursed since the Tanehill playoff fiasco
Purdy saved Kyle and John’s employment.
He'll have his Josh Freeman moment at some point in his career.
Make him a receiver or slot receiver, he’s athletic af!
He's a beast. He'll be a pro bowler in the enxt 2 or 3 years.
Preseason matters for qbs!
To be associated with JaMarcus Russel is Nasty work.#YIKES😮
A lot of it is not Trey Lance’s fault. But JaMarcus Russell was at fault for why he’s a bust
@phillyfan-182 valid point, but still I was rooting for him
@@phillyfan-182 It is TL fault since he was never that guy so he made a selfish decision instead of getting more reps in college.
As a Niners fans I was really rooting for the kid.
He probably needs to go to the UFL and light up the scoreboards
Trade him to the Vikings they needa guy like lance
The irony is the 49ers took Lance hoping he could develop into something they already had in Colin Kapernick.
Tasom Hill has made a position for himself in N.O. being a running QB and the ability to move around in different positions. Maybe Dallas should look at this for Lance?
Lance will get hurt
No Tasom is a running back not a QB. He never throws. Everyone knows it is a running option. That is not good for Trey Lance long term. Cam and Luck are cautionary tales of what happens to athletic QB's on terrible teams.
So what you're telling me is: The Cowboys don't even have a backup QB better than Cooper Rush...
The Panthers can use a quarterback 😆
With S.Sanders and D.Sanders to follow coming to Dallas, Trey Lance has maybe next year left there.
Lance was always a bum
@@BradHolkesvig THIS RIGHT HERE!
you are clueless.. the fact that 49ers traded there first round pick to a rival in the same division should tell you something!!!!!! he is the exact definition of a BUST!!!!!
Well said. 🙌
Not sure here you were going at first but got your point and I concur.
@@DaaaBoooy
You have no idea why Jerry Jones wanted Trey along with many other NFL teams who sent scouts to watch Trey play his last college game.
Sad just never got the time to play.
None of those QBs in the 2021 draft worked out except Trevor
I can see him with the Raiders
If he agrees to play on another position, maybe. But no, I don't want him under center.
@@MoLiEG89 Agreed. The Raiders are better off with any of their current QBs over Lance. Though I doubt Lance would even fit on the Raiders' roster at all, even if he did switch position.
Trey has been reduced to Deuce and now on his way to Ace 😂
Cooper Rush is way underrated..
I don't know why they played trey lance so much. Rush should have been getting more playing time in the pre-season
Jerry Jones still had good things to say about Trey, good god…If any team wants Trey then he would go to there practice squad if that…
To be fair, stetson Bennet threw 4 int in 1 preseason game. Still a developmental backup qb
Oh please... Jerry opens his wallet and at least tries to surround his QBs with talent. As best he can
Knew he would be questionable when his college highlights started with a run
going to an fcs school says it all
Trey Can’t be the worst QB in League. Doesn’t Zach (MILF HUNTER)Wilson still in the league?
Trey lance looking like Zach Wilson out there 😂
Yep. I do not know why this guy always take shots at Fields. He is obsessed and jealous at this point. Fields is way more successful.
Canada is calling. Come back when u ready 💪🏾🇨🇦
Lance finessed teams by being a Mahomes doppelganger.
I don't think he is the biggest bust. It was the biggest reach by the 49ers who also have the distinction of one of the biggest steals since their Mr. Irrelevant looks like a ten year franchise QB
He signed a 40 million dollar contract. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he gonna be ok😂
He’s made millions already
If Nathan peterman can keep finding teams to sign him he will bounce around a bit too
I never understood the Trey Lance hype. He barely played in college, and when he did, he destroyed poor/bad competition. While I didn't expect to see him become a bust, I didn't even believed he could be a 1st or even 2nd rounder.
He is exactly what I thought he would be: An athletic guy, but not a real Qb. He only became a bust because teams thought they could turn him into Mahomes 2.0
Maybe If he can turn into a RB, WR or TE like Logan Thomas he can have some sort of playing time.
100% correct. One year playing nobody. If Shanny and Lynch didn't strike gold w/ Purdy both would be working at Foot Locker today.
He needed to sit like 2 years to be honest.
Worst draft pick in 49ers history. That trade up would normally get front office fired.
HES STILL A MILLIONAIRE... HE WILL BE FINE
as a niner fan i feel bad for the guy best of luck to lance
At this point, Trey Lance and Justin Fields need to content themselves with playing the Taysom Hill role.
Oh-no Dak has Trey Lances contract. Jerry must of made a mistake.
The dude is still very rough around the edges at year 4 in the league.
he just had to go to a team where he can learn from an actual vet
If he wants to be a starter in the NFL going to the UFL is probably his best option. He's played 1 season of football since his senior year of high school in 2017 & that season was at a FCS level. He's never developed his craft or talent & never should have declared for the draft. 1 or 2 years starting at a professional level in the UFL will either give him a chance to develop or solidify his status as a bust. Or he can bounce around the NFL for next few years as a backup/ practice squad guy.
Trey Lance watching this: 👁️👄👁️
I hope they just let him take the reigns next year and see what happens.
He's still flaying around because SF was so wrong about him
As a 49ers fan, I am so glad the Cowboys took Tray Lance. How bout them Cowboys.
Undrafted human is crazy
I’d start Lance in every game. You love Dallas? I live in Dallas. Everyone knows Jerry loves Dieon. His son will be the next cowboys qb
Call me an NFL scout. I saw that coming since before he was drafted
Way over drafted for not playing much at a small school. Niners got rid of him fast. Now 3rd string on 2 teams. 5 interceptions against subs and backups is bad. 😢
As a niner fan, it was so stupid to spend 3 first round picks on a guy that played so little in college. Should have been a fire able offense.
I don't think there's going to be very many people in the comments standing up for Lance, most of us who have watched him play and watch his film are where he is nowhere near ready to be a starting QB. I hope he improves if he still wants to play football and wish him the best
He’d be good in the CFL
