Special thanks go out to Richard Pecjak Jr. and Rob Kuner for their significant video contributions (almost all of it)! And special thanks to our Legendary "guest singer," ... Geddy Lee!
“Mood Lifters - A Tribute to Rush” is a Southern California Rush Tribute Band formed in 2021. The band’s focus is on the faithful recreation and performance of songs from all eras of Rush’s career, “from first to last.” Every song is on the table, and the band performs the classics and deep cuts with tremendous energy and care.
Mood Lifters are:
Rocky Kuner - vocals;
Isamu Kakitani - bass guitar, keyboards, pedals;
Ben King -- guitar;
Mat Miranda -- drums & percussion.
Each of the Mood Lifters is a lifelong fan of Rush and has played Rush’s music in other Rush tribute bands or otherwise.
Fantastic vocal rocki. Best vocal cover of ged
Excellent…love Counterparts!!!
I can just hear you guys doing ‘Animate’, ‘Alien Shore’, ‘At the Speed of Love’…*deep sigh of satisfaction and wonder***
Excellent!! Your choices of songs is great, and y'all capture the feel and the technicals of every one you do - loving it! Ever considered doing Lakeside Park?
Thanks David! Sure, we play Lakeside Park frequently at our shows. For whatever reason, it just hasn't made it to video for us. Perhaps soon!
Wow, this took some balls, to cover a good song from the obscure period of their career. Well done, and kudos!
Wow. Having recently found you, I never expected to see this one done. Great job. Love that you used Ged’s vocals as they did on the tour.
A lot going on in this song and you all nailed it!
Would love to see you if you come east some day.
Counterparts a fully loaded album. One of these songs would make another bands career.
Guest vocals from the Geddy himself!
Love me some Counterparts!
Incredible, excellent version. Bravo!!
Y'all covered Double Agent ?!!!???!!!! This is what I love about Mood Lifters. You aren't just learning a pocketful of hits and playing them into the ground -- you are taking on the Rush catalog like music majors doing a team graduate-degree thesis -- taking apart every aspect of the music, laying it out on the table for inspection, and carefully putting it back together again. With this, fans are ever-surprised, and the musicians never bored. I have hope that you may someday take on my favorite deep-cut Rush songs that they rarely or never-once played (but for now not saying what those are). This song has some strange timing changes, and that weird tape track - love to hear how you created and timed that into the song. Keep this path up and you'll be playing with a tiny string orchestra and performing 'Snakes & Arrows' one of these fine years.
Thanks for "getting us"! There is so much wonder in Rush's catalog that moved us, and we honestly just want this music to keep doing that for us and others. There might even be serious Rush fans who haven't given this song a chance, and if we do our job right, not only is there an "oh wow" moment for those at our shows, but maybe others are inspired to dust off that Counterparts cd and throw it in for a fresh spin!
I couldn't place the track myself and now I need to load that Counterparts CD and give it a thorough listening. Mood Lifter's you all are so enjoyable to watch and listen to. Your subtle touches and fine musicianship are so very tight.
@@MrPugsley1961 Thanks!
EXACTLY. Deep cuts like Grand Designs, Emotion Detector, Open Secrets, and yes, Double Agent, don't get their due. Thank you Mood Lifters!
Awesomeness
Heck yeah! !!
You guys got me with this one. Another new one for you but I don’t know this song at all.
Counterparts album. I saw Rush totally butcher this song live in Austin 1994. I think it was their 2nd stop on their tour and didnt quite have this song down yet. It was a trainwreck. ML do a good job on this one.
The first time I’ve ever heard this song and I liked it!! Rocky snuck in a lot of vibrato on this one.
Love it! Thanks guys, it's awesome that you are delving into lesser known tracks. Awesome job by everyone and for a lower register song, Rocky really sounded in the pocket.
Freaking Greatest edit ever.... I can't believe what I saw
This is excellent across the board. I think I prefer your verse groove to the original. Blasphemy, I know!
Thanks for your blasphemy, Diego!
Great performance! Cool set list choices.
