Personally, I don't preheat as it warms up so quickly , I just add few minutes at the end if food is not cooked to desired consistently I hope you like the airfryer
I don't preheat as it gets hot quite quickly in like a minute but you can try preheating and see how you get on. I don't and it's been fine, I can add extra few minutes afterwards if I would like to airfry further
@@maryellis3661 Most times, I don't have to turn, as the racks allow air to circulate round the food from every angle . I have tried fresh sweet potato but didn't turn out nice. It's recommended to use frozen foods.

I really don't understand the hype around air fryers. Really what's the difference between 200 degrees at 20 min in an airfryer or 200 degress at 20 min in a fan oven. They do the same thing... just a smaller space to heat up.
What annoying music so loud…. I wanted to see how the controls worked… not enough info on that In my old air fryer I could put my fish and chips in …time it for 10 minutes . Come back if it needed another 2 mins ?? Done I must be doing something wrong ..Just wish the instructions in the manual were simpler
Kind of disappointed, Emily, that you have commented that this oven is "recommended for frozen foods...". I cook fresh, wild, salmon, haddock, baked sweet and Irish potatoes, vegetables, fresh baked cheesy mash, chicken, low additive bacon, fresh turkey meatballs, fresh low fat beefburgers, pizza prepared from scratch with a lower amount of cheese than they pile on in restaurants, or in supermarkets - all manner of freshly prepared foods, with little or no oil, and with only a small bit if trial and error, my food comes out appropriately crispy on the top, fluffy in the middle. It saves on time, food cooks better, and saves energy and vending down to my big gas oven, which is almost obsolete now. I will do the odd oven chip, or pre-preoared Yorkshire pudding in it, and yes, they come out well, but what a waste, and, I would say, how irresponsible as an MD, to be so limited, and encouraging of your viewers towards frozen foods. Educate yourself. And as for spraying the oil onto the food? No way. Won't be subscribing.
Yuk, get a deep fat fryer, make your own chips, make your own batter. I’ve not been to a chip shop for 10 years. I always have fish and chips on a Friday. Done properly.
I've known a couple of black women called Emily and neither of them were Nigerian (Jamaican), so you don't know what you're talking about pal. Also the word 'Caucasian' was coined by a German who thought people from the Caucus region of Russia had the whitest skin, so an extremely Caucasian name would be Vlad or Ludmilla, but I'm sure you know that as you used the word in particular.
@@Derry_Aire Exactly right. My grandmother, who would have been over 100 years old now, was called Emily, she, and my aunt were/are both born and bred, proud Nevisian woman, and my cousin is called Emily (and nearly 60 years old). Then my good friend's aunt, on her 80s is called Emily, born and raised in Jamaica before coming here. I get what the OP might think about names, because my parents have what I would call colonial sounding names; however, with my family, anyway, it was nothing to do with wanting to "sound white", it was just names they liked or were passed down. Big generalisation, IMHO.
I got the 5 in 1 air fryer in January great makes lovely chips great machine
Glad you did. It's really a good gadget to have
Thanks! About to get this model 2nd hand on Weds! Do you need to 'preheat' the 'oven' or just put in and start cooking like that? Thanks!

A little tip. Spray your rack with oil, not the fish. Stops it sticking and the whole spray of oil isn’t absorbed into the batter 👍
Great tip. Thanks alot
That's what I was going to suggest.
Do you need to pre heat the fryer?

Do all layers cook evenly?
After about 10mins of cooking, I moved the racks around , then after 15 mins, so all the layers cook evenly
Like anything keep & eye on it & adjust shelfs. It's always hotter on the top as my wife tells me!
Try Tesco finest chunky chips really lovely in the airfryer
Ok, would give it a try. Thanks alot

Looks like a nice air fryer compared to the basket type

Why can't i spray oil on fries?
It's an healthier option and with the airfryer, you don't need the oil

The pic on the box shows the bottom 2 shelves with a much higher gap. Little bit of lying there.

I really don't get these air fryers, this looked greasy and the chips looked under and over cooked at the same time.
