It is the law that should be the focus. No one from any religious groups should interfere. There is one reason for religious groups, not to dictate how laws in every country. Are religious groups paying taxes? No. They have no right to interfere. Everyone is entitled to love who they want to love and be with.

However, if you had the wit to read and take the time to understand what I was trying to say, what I was saying is that gay people should not be denied the legal BENEFITS of marriage. to answer your question, my objection is that again, laws should not be the source of oppression or discrimination, and that is what the family code is (maybe intentional or not) causing. If it has to cause oppression or discrimination, then at least provide a very good reason backed up by evidence, hindi dahilang naniniwala ka sa isang libro.

Not on religious terms, since not everyone subscribes to their faith and traditions. It would be fair for all, and in the spirit of democracy. The church does not have the right to impose their will on people who don't subscribe to their worldview, only the law (secular government) has the right to do that.

My heart breaks as to why why why why..they treat these people as if they have a disease na dapat ideny ang right to marriage sa knila. So wrong in so many different levels.
The family code has no such basis (evidence to support as to why the law was written like that) apart from a politician trying to impress a religious majority.
This gay marriage issue is at its core, political in nature, because it really is about equality between a minority (LGBT) and the majority. It would not be appropriate for a real democracy to oppress a minority in favor of the majority, since it is not in line with what democracy is. At its essence, democracy means equal rights for everybody, no matter what sexual orientation, status, gender, race, etc.
Kaya rin nasabi ko na dapat the state should not endorse or support or align itself towards or against a particular religious belief. Meaning, dapat hindi influenced by religion ang politics. Gets? Obvious naman na sa family code na yan, there's an implied opposition to any other form of partnership (same sex unions), and sino ba ang in opposition sa ganyan, kundi religious groups.

I'm Bi and I'm not in favor in same sex marriage. It's a law of God. We should respect the sanctity and holiness of marriage. Yung members ng LGBT they are fighting for it kasi "equality" daw. For me kasi may mga bagay na hindi talaga pwede. Yung karapatan ng babae eh para sa babae lang at yung karapatan ng lalaki eh para sa lalaki lang at ganun din sa members ng LGBT. Hindi yung karapatan ng babae eh dapat karapatan din nila at yung karapatan ng lalaki eh dapat meron din sila. Pwede namang magmahalan ng walang kasal. Hindi naman siguro mababawasan ang pagmamahal mo sa partner mo pag di kayo naikasal. Hindi naman pinagbabawal ni Lord na magmahal ka ng same sex mo, pero yung marriage?? Ibang usapan naman na yan.

It's stupid really. Gay people should not be denied legal benefits of marriage. Not everyone subscribes to the Christian belief, and government should respect that. Nakalagay naman sa constitution natin, explicitly that church and state is separate. That means, state should be secular, free from any kind of religious affiliation. It should not endorse or support or align itself against a particular religious belief.

You are correct, kailangan may batas, but laws can be questioned and should be questioned when it causes oppression of any kind. The government exists for the people, and that includes minorities. Laws act to protect the rights of its citizens and in a democracy, should act to promote their well-being, not cause oppression or discrimination. Democracy is about giving people, regardless of status or any criteria, a voice in politics.
357Archangel is right..We should not define marriage in our own terms becoz we did not create, design, and institute marriage..i strongly agree with 357archangel that God's word, the Bible is our ultimate basis for marriage since God is the author of marriage..Let God's will be done, not man's will.
The problem is,when this becomes a law,A God fearing judge can not refuse officiating this illicit relationships,because you will be penalized.Since both can not have children,the constitution will change the family code,and allow adoption for innocent children to be raised by these confused groups.
