former bed wetter and non-serial killer here 🤚 bed-wetting is 100% a response to feeling unsafe in your home, it’s rarely addressed as such. if a child is wetting their bed, the parents need to look deeper. are we not providing a sense of safety? is the child being abused? being bullied? and ask, no matter how young, is the child depressed? all of these things contribute. punishment reinforces the sense of instability and leads to long term psychological damage.
Those exact parents don't care to look deeper though. They don't give a damn how their kids feel, if they feel safe, if they are happy or if they are depressed, they don't care what their lives are like at school or if they have any friends. Some parents only live to cut their children down and make them miserable, to break them down mentally or physically or both literally any chance they get.

This case is exceptionally gross. This speaks to a level of mental disorder that I don't even know where to begin with, and I am working on a master's in psychology, specifically looking to work with victims of family violence and abuse of any kind. It's so far beyond the pale that it makes me feel physically ill, and my heart goes out to all of us victims of family violence and abuse. My family didn't abuse me in the same way. My abuse was inflicted upon me by other adults around me at the time, but it didn't help that absolutely no one believed me. Not even my own mother. I know what it feels like to be literally trapped in a horrific situation, so I want to spend the rest of my life working to help others get the help I was refused.

This case is exceptionally gross. This speaks to a level of mental disorder that I don't even know where to begin with, and I am working on a master's in psychology, specifically looking to work with victims of family violence and abuse of any kind. It's so far beyond the pale that it makes me feel physically ill, and my heart goes out to all of us victims of family violence and abuse. My family didn't abuse me in the same way. My abuse was inflicted upon me by other adults around me at the time, but it didn't help that absolutely no one believed me. Not even my own mother. I know what it feels like to be literally trapped in a horrific situation, so I want to spend the rest of my life working to help others get the help I was refused.

This was the first true crime story I ever watched but was by EWU. So disturbing! Watching it again and after all this time and all the other videos I’ve watched, still up there with th most messed up !
Jesus I remember when this story originally came out regarding the incest. I didn’t know the father ended up killing until now. Incredibly disturbing.
There were so many instances in which adults could have stepped in. Who lets their kid go to school with the same exact sweater, and which teacher what teacher never investigate this child?
And who lets their minor daughter leave with a groomer?
The numerous instances somebody could have stopped this...And of all people his mother got custody of the baby boy??? WTF?

Murder is always horrible, but the murder of a child absolutely disgusts me. They’re so innocent, and genuinely good hearted. I don’t care what degree of murder it is. If you kill a child, you should be get life in prison.
But just imagine when the baby grows up to realize that he was the product of an incestuous relationship. I'm not condoning what happened to the baby or anything. Just if it was me, I think I would rather die.

Everyone in this case except the baby (and MAYBE Katie, but that's a stretch) were disgusting people. How Alyssa is so braindead that she couldn't put two and two together is beyond me. And the fact that she didn't even bother to think that allowing Katie to be around the man that got her pregnant at the same age, unsupervised, shows she's the queen of everything stupid. Steven was just a sick man from start to finish. People like that don't deserve second and third chances. Who knows what he said to Katie to get her to sleep with him, but considering how her step parents practically supported the idea of her marrying her biological father proves she wasn't raised with any type of emotional or intellectual care. I feel like Katie wasn't given the opportunity to live a normal life, which could have leaned into how she fell for her father. Teenagers don't think things through, but when she got older and realized the error of her ways, that same father took her life because he couldn't have it. What an absolute scumbag. Even the courts were a let down, to not think "oh hey, maybe we should restrict visitation rights for the father since it's clear the baby will be with the mother." Failure on everyone involved. So many people had the chance to prevent this tragedy, and they just didn't for God knows why.

Her adoptive parents had an ADULT daughter who made her own choice. They were showing her she had support if she needed to get out, like real family do. I think they're the only real family she had. It's a shame they didn't hide away with the baby from him.

It's the extreme case of my parents letting me smoke after 18, but I had to do it outside on the porch.

@@HKim0072 yea they should have called the police. She may or my not have gotten a jail time but at least she'd be away from her sick twisted biological dad. Plus like you said she was 18 and chose to participate as well, maybe some jail time would have shocked her back to reality.

By far the most bizarre crime story I've ever seen.
Wow - what a fustercluck. The guy was a madman. And yet every step he got away with everything. The police "investigating" and doing pretty much nothing until he was alreasy married to his daughter. The court releaaing him on bond. The baby boy going to his mother and not her parents. And his final act is sickening.
Oh Hell Naw!!!! I am a dad to a daughter. My kid lived with me the last 5 years. There is no way in this world I would do this. I would beat that guy an inch from death!!! Fuck no!!!!!

Wtf is wrong with people? Cant put all the blame on Steven tho, all of the adults share in the guilt, and so does Katie. She was old enough to know better. The courts also share in the blame. This all coulda been prevented but so much inaction resulted in this tragedy. I give my sincerest condolences and hope this can be a lesson to everyone. Incest is wrong and so is abuse. Teach your teens about abusive relationships and how to get outta them and how to try to even prevent them from happening.
