- Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review Channel
In this video Mark 26TM575 drives up the hills to the Nature Reserve of Ashover Rock in Derbyshire.
This is a distance of 50 miles as the crow flies.
There is a second video which will be uploaded to my RUclips channel of Mark's side of the contact.
Mark is using a vintage Cobra 148 GTL DX transceiver and a homebrew wire Gainmaster style antenna on a pole.
I really want to thank Mark for making the effort to drive to the location and operate portable to aid the President George II CB Radio review.
Here is a link to Mark's video : • President George II SS...

Radio is the hobby that keeps on giving! Cheers Dave.
Or taking....your money 🤣
I do love your reviews Dave, Thankyou for taking the time to do this for people you do go pretty in depth to demonstrate the radios, My Mrs is buying me a George 2 for Christmas 😄 i do love the crome look against the black and the colour options for the screen. Tidy little radio. 26-TM-266 (Lee) East Coast Norfolk
Hello Lee, that's most kind of you, yes I've properly done more with the George II as any other radio, good luck with your Christmas present, they currently seem to be selling like hot cakes 🙂
Nice to hear Mr 575 after a long time. 73 mate de '2121'
It was
I am liking this radio quite a lot Dave..The mix of modern facilities, stability and that little bit of chrome seems to really attract me.I am over that way next week so i will give you a shout….
I fully echo your thoughts, let me know when you are down here Mate 🙂
thanks dave first class review
I definitely like the look and sound of the radio but I'd adjust the tone a little to make it a little less harsh on the ears. The NRC seems very subtle but that may be due to you not having interference for it to cancel out. It's a nice looking radio that's for certain. One to put on the list of very interested along with the SS3900 3023 andSS7900v Turbo. Any chance of a side by side audio comparison of the SS3900 2023 and the George II?
Harsh is good, keeps me awake
Nice radio Dave love the noise reduction on it thanks for the video
Thanks 🙂
Dave, the noise reduction button three colours are for receive, transmit and the third colour indicate both receive and transmit together. There's a menu adjustment for the steps of the NRC effectiveness for each mode (receive, transmit and both receive and transmit together)!
Yes, I show more in future videos on this@@cariboooutlaw4852
Sounds really good on ssb
It does, the thing that really matters with this one
Nice radio i'm not jealous lol work well
Jealous? of me, I'm just an Old Boy 🤣
Whats the difference with the McKinley please
Should be a good one!
It is Mate, plus I will have the video from the other side too, so nothing to hide🙂
Is this a uniden radio?
no
No it a Anytone board same as Ares 2
7900 turbo
Etc
The chrome looks tacky, it's been a long time coming and they still haven't got it right!! It's just a Grant with a bit of chrome
Point taken, but certainly Not a Grant in any way
