  • Cathy, Claire and I get some incredible footage while flying 2 Aerospatiale Alouette helicopters in low level formation over South Africa. And yes, both Claire and I got some super low level stick time!

    Aérospatiale, some of the best helicopters ever made, both the Lama and the Alouette.

    So cool!! When I was a young boy in Salt Lake City, Life Flight bought Alouette 2's and they were always flying over my house. I ran outside every single pass lol.. So cool to see these still in the air and running strong!

    Really neat to see the the interior of the Alouette and it's large cockpit. Videos are great, keep 'em coming!

    What a gorgeous helicopter ! Alouette made a totally unique aircraft, with a cool, military look. Great video !

    interesting fact: the mirage f1 in the background at 1:23 is an ex-saaf decoy , not a real mirage jet.

    Why are you flying Low level ,Nap of the Earth ?And why would you depend on a Passenger to spot Power lines…Not in any Rotorcraft that I am PIC..

      @leonputh5543 9 месяцев назад

      The power line comment was likely meant jokingly. The low level flight probably sight seeing intended,

    I don’t mean to spoil the fun but I just think filming the low level flying and posting on You Tube might potentially get you in trouble with the Civil Aviation Authority.
    Allowing an un-briefed passenger to manipulate the controls flying low level is also plain stupid!
    And yes, I do fly too, HEMS for a national hospital group.

      Glad you said it. And who needs a height velocity chart for goodness sake? It’s more of a safety suggestion I guess.
