Also it's quite a pretty garden plant, grey leaves, a little bit like sage in its looks. The root is the part used for the extract, I think.
It was a joy to see you all together again in S. Africa. Horehound is an American wild herb that is good for sore throats. It has to be sweetened with sugar or a sweet herb like liquorice root as it is quite bitter by itself.
