Content lock/paywalling PVE nodes is SO DUMB, you gotta pay for the season pass only to find out you cant even get all the rewards because you need a level 40 gaston you havn't even unlocked yet, such bullshit. I tried getting up some of my chrs for some extra shards.. because its the only source of shard income beside shelving MAD amounts of money on scam boxes... once you hit that MP20 rank-ish you get matched up with level 40+ players... you didnt even stand a chance at the lobby before going into the game hahaha, its SOOOO bad. P2W? How about P4E - Pay for Everthing (ingame) Such a shame and letdown, hope they burn man. Abusing the Disney IP.
They abuse SEVERAL IPs... Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani... Many of the systems here were implemented in asphalt 9 at some point. Same company, same studio, same heard of economy (check the credits of both games.) it's disappointing how companies and brands let licenses like these get handed over to gameloft.
Gameloft is the same company who got sold to a guy who turned the asphalt 8 franchise scummy as he buys out mobile games and stuff ads in them and pay to win mechanics
As of now, Speedstorm had changed and its been getting more hyped on this team mode now. Course there be bugs but its been doing okay that even many are getting to higher ranks easier
Character balancing is not good. There's been times when I don't have enough upgrade materials & struggle to win a race 7 levels higher than the required character, then come across an identical race with a different character and win it in one try.
In the latest "balance" they did, what I left me like "wtf" was the change to the crew members stats boost cuz now racers with low top speed doesn't benefit at all. Meg gets like a laughable 200k while Jumba or Hans get way more. Players will need 2 or 3 crew to approach what high top speed racers get with 1.
In terms of the local free play , when i get a chance i often like to play with my siblings on the weekend and now ive had to explain to them why the characters they normally play as arent there anymore A minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things but they were quite unhappy about it nevertheless

During Season 5 I used to play the game on local with friends and didn't worry too hard about the rest of the game unless playing by myself since you could pick any character on Local, unlocked on Online or not. Still did my best to complete S5 since I was new to the game, getting all 5 Frozen characters and getting both Hans and Kristoff to Star Lv4 and the other 3 to Lv3, even managed to get into the Top 5% for the Wall-E event thanks to your vids on the matter (THANK YOU for that btw). So you get a sense of how into the game I was at that point. But even so I was still chill knowing I could always play offline with my friends without having to worry about who I did or didn't have on Online. And man, imagine my MASSIVE disappointment when coming back after skipping almost all of S6 (irl time limitations) to find that they killed Local as well by no longer allowing you to pick a racer unless you've unlocked it on Online first. FOR LOCAL PLAY. WHY? I can only imagine how abysmally small the Local-only player count must be, even among the free-to-play-only base. To the point that I know most people didn't even _notice_ this change since almost everyone plays Online anyways. I'm sure it didn't affect Gameloft in any meaningful way, so to me doing that feels like nothing but a dick move, an extra "screw you" to a diminute portion of free-to-play players who could enjoy the game without really being affected by their predatory business model. And, since Local play is, again, such a small part of the game, they could get away with simply going "unrestricted racer pick BEGONE" without much fanfare on the matter. At this point, fuck Gameloft man. No longer playing the game since finding that out a few days ago. But I still check out your vids on the state of the game, as I find them interest to watch thanks to your great understanding on these matters
Yes, that's usually how small adjustments turn into big problems. Most players don't pay attention to what doesn't affect their game. My videos have always been about speaking on small changes that could possibly have been reverted, however, as long as the individual is happy, it is never spoken about even if it does impact the entire community. I've noticed when they take small steps and no one pays attention, they then take even bigger ones and turn it into a full blown thing. As an example, they started by only removing limited time racers from local/private, then it was season characters, then it was the whole roster. I've spoken on many changes like that, however, if it doesn't impact every single player (enough to have an outcry like the Golden Pass) it stays in no matter how poor the change. =/
I have a feeling the reason there isn’t any voice lines for some of the new characters is because Gameloft’s Speedstorm Team can’t afford it. Or they can’t afford the whole cast of characters. They gave Ralph and Vanellope the voice lines because they are the main characters, and they don’t see the other 3 important enough to put money into. And I don’t know if they realise this, but removing the voice lines also removes even more players, and more importantly, the pay 2 win players. Because these P2W players most likely love Disney and these characters, but removing the voice lines is also removing the character. And well, like you’ve said before, remove the magic that is ‘Disney’ from this game and you’ve got yourself a bang awful game. And these P2W players ain’t gonna wanna play because they don’t feel that magic anymore. Which means Speedstorm will continue to lose money, leaving them no choice but to stop updating it because they can’t afford it anymore. Unlike Asphalt, Speedstorm has, guidelines? (I can’t think of the correct word I’m looking for), But Speedstorm needs to have the Disney magic. Like with Asphalt, you don’t have the need to make constant updates with high expectations and a bunch of new iconic Disney characters, voice lines, etc. And Asphalt will continue on for a long time because it’s an actual playable racing game where there’s not a whole lot you can do to ruin that apart from monetisation (which they’ve already done but they’ve got P2W players who don’t really have a reason to quit). Unlike Speedstorm where there are reasons now. Because you know, Speedstorm is a Disney game first, racing game second, or at least it was. Speedstorm needs to have the Disney worlds, the Disney music, the Disney characters, etc.. to keep these P2W players. Most of the F2P players have either already dropped the game or are on the fence about doing so. I dropped the game start of this season after playing since week 1 of EA. It was tough because I spent so much time on the game, but I do not like the direction of the game nor how we are treated as players by the company. Anyways, they rely on P2W players to keep the game running. But Gameloft have really screwed themselves by removing the voice lines. Maybe they didn’t have a choice, maybe they are really broke rn, but that’s their own fault for ruining a promising game with scummy paywalls and ridiculous P2W features. And this is probably just the start of losing the Disney magic, if they can’t afford these VA’s, they will just stop giving new characters voice lines. The music will be next. They won’t be able to afford the liscenses or the top notch composers, so they’ll have to back down to generic racing music that isn’t relatable to Disney at all. I genuinely can’t see this game getting continued support by the end of the year and will become yet another forgotten Gameloft game to lay and rot in the store with no players. I am tired of this company, I only play two of their games rn which are coincidentally also Disney games. Disney Magic Kingdoms heavily supports paying to be ahead of the game, but I really don’t have that incentive to be ahead, it’s just another one of those games I play for a couple minutes, gather resources and close down. And paying to be ahead doesn’t do much anyways, like, there’s no real advantage so there’s no real reason to pay up. Then there’s Dreamlight Valley, which isn’t as bad compared to other GL games, like you can get everything in this game if you can consistently do well in the weekly events. And there is no fear of missing out on items as they all return on a rotational basis. Like yeah, the game has a paid story DLC with Disney characters, furniture and clothing locked behind, but which game doesn’t have a paid DLC nowadays🙄 It’s annoyingly become the norm. But for a company, having 90% of your games being P2W, it is not a good look. I had hoped that when they started making games for console, that they would change, but it doesn’t feel like it. Well, at least Speedstorm hasn’t. I am still skeptical of the future of DLV, but as of now, it seems ok. No need to apologize. Your comment was a good read and I agree. The amount of feedback from their channel, from my videos, from comments of my videos. They had so many opportunities to make the game players wanted. I always said they dug themselves in a hole and they don't really have anymore choice other than to double down, they made *that* many poor decisions.
I recently started Dream light valley because i loved Gameloft's representation of Disney but the loot box money grabbing thing put me off of Speedstorm.
Honestly i imagine it must be daunting to hop in to this game in its current state I started in season 5 and i cant tell you just how many shards for characters i was given during that season , most of my charaters came from that season - as in like 80% so now when certain races need certain characters i can most of the time play them But i noticed that in season 6, there were far fewer shards for past characters in general, and this season is even more scarce in that regard . Starting now is what i imagine to be an unwelcoming experience as you are basically locked out of most of what you can do meaning less and less people will continue to stay on to join the community which is really sad 😢
I love Speedstorm, but when I started playing last year, I spent a lot of time on the wiki to learn about all of the currencies and controls that the tutorial doesn't explain! Your videos were also super helpful, much like this one will be for newer players. We shouldn't have to go to external sources to learn how to play though! Sadly, I might be done with the game at this point, since I can't even open it after the update. And last time I could play it was very noticeably buggy to point it was hindering my enjoyment. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Should new players start the game? Honestly no they shouldn't. Now until yhey start to make it more f2p friendly like how it use to be. But yhis video will be helpful to people who are silly enough to start this game.
I agree, however if one has an expectation of just playing the free stuff. The game is excellent for free. For me, it was seasons later when I finally had enough characters to unlock nearly all of the Season mode.
Nice video, I started Speedstorm because it was the only kart racer I could find for a chromebook that looked good. I was really enjoying it until I saw this and saw how it was before. Man, can Disney get SOMETHING right please! It's either P2W games or woke movies, I'm beginning to think they hate fans and just want money. Walt must be doing backflips in his grave.
I'm a bit dissapointed that now you need extra shards to upgrade a character to level 15 after unlocking one. That wasn't the case before and some single player races have a requirement to be level 15 or you'll get pretty much crushed by the AI most of the time. I know that you can get 14-19 shards easily in ranked, but still... Seems like you need more shards than before.

I'm just saying this... I'm disappointed, angry and annoyed that this game is becoming more and more PtW and grindy... the Bots thing you said is quite disturbing... something like that for me is a complaint... Even if they are bots they must be reported in game.
The lack of voice lines for new characters (I believe) is the results of last year's SAG strike. The Disney Characters Voice Actor Group, which is a department responsible for voicing the characters in the theme parks and other media, were part of that strike to insure their job will not be replaced by AI sound alike. Also, I recently learned that Calhoun and Felix doesn't have theme park VA, which means they probably don't have an actor in general to replace the celebrities who originally voiced them.
No, I think it's probably budgetary or licensing reasons, if anything. They said in the patch notes that this would be a thing moving forward, only some characters every season getting voices, not just a one-time deal. That doesn't sound like something that has to do with the strike.
@@paulw858 SAG actors also got a Royalty Raise, IIRC, so it could be a combination of the strike and the budget not having enough money to pay for the new raise.
As a game like Speedstorm ages, it experiences diminishing returns on its investment. Therefore, cutting costs in areas such as voice acting, particularly when it involves celebrities like Jack McBrayer or Sarah Silverman, can lead to significant savings.

Venelople has only appeared in one theme park parade with lines, so unless that was included in Silverman's contract (doing VA work for marking purposes), they had to get a different actor almost immediately.
I do like the new track. Its quite colorful and even has some interesting hazards on it. I waa quite disapointed Shank wasn't a racer. I woulda prefered her over King Candy. The new upgrade system is good, but am I needing more shards to upgrade characters? Anyway, I had about 475k coins, now Im down to about 250k or so. They go fast! Noticed you can still purchase tokens in the shop for now? Interesting...wonder if theyre tryimg to stave off that lawsuit I heard about?
They never said they were removing tokens. You just were unable to use them on the pass. Imo, there wasn't anything to sue them for, I just think it might have been talk in the heat of the moment.

Bumping is not enjoyable. I dislike doing it, but it becomes necessary when everyone else is ramming into you in ranked multiplayer. Perhaps there could be a friendly yet competitive mode that rewards precision and skill rather than aggressive play.

Yea, you'd basically have to follow the notes. Basically you're using coins and shards to level now instead of having a lump sum if shards before you level.
I have no issues spending money on F2P games, but in order for that to happen I need to feel like I'm getting something I'm going to be able to use for the rest of my life. Something of "value" (even if it's not). I can not have that feeling knowing that the game can't stop losing players. That is why I hate P2W in multiplayer games. This isn't a gacha. You have to grow a big enough community for the game to be active, which also makes it better for everyone.

In my opinion if you are a new player to this game you don't really stand a chance the lobby are full of 50 levels in ranked and you might want to save your tokens for your level upgrade because you don't get enough to really level up one specific character so you going to have to sacrifice a lot of characters I feel like this if your character is level 40 level of that character too level 50 the ranked still a bloody mess now in the season get Alot of coins might wanna saved that too buy upgrade tokens so if you are a new player to this game not going too have a lot of fun with it you will have to focus on that one specific character at a time they already Nerf the epic crew members so the game will be doom soon as the next update take place i hated the epic crew members are getting Nerf you won't be able to gain a bonus from the epic crew members no more like that will be 5% kinda sucked
I was hoping this would be a great Mario Kart alternative only to realise that you better off going back to Mario Kart. Im not a mobile gamer for a reason. I don't like the lack of depth and interaction through those kinds of games and I hate spending money all the time on things that just requires playing and progressing through the game. Many complaints about Speedstorm stem from seasoned players who wish to continue the game but are encountering increased restrictions and paywalls. As a Brand-new player there is plenty of excellent and fun content to unlock for free
honestly. I think is a bad game. tha state of ranked is still terrible. I thought it would improve with the new update but is still the same chaotic disaster.
How it sounds is its a kids game but the kid better have deep pockets or well the parents was looking at this for my twin daughters but after learning this I might redownload the original cars game from 2004 kids shouldn't be preyed on by these massive companies like Disney who has enough revenue streams as it is
Ive written them a few complaints on X and had no reply. I think this update has a lot of positives. The upgrade coins have certainly simplified the process of levelling. However, they feel rare and are very grindy to earn simply because of the amount you need at higher levels. The hiding of certain levels in the season behind requirements of other characters has always been a sticking point for me. I've paid for a golden pass to make the most of a season and its benefits, but now I can't finish the season properly because I dont have certain characters? That's shitty design, very shitty. The new sugar rush levels are insane. They look very true to the movie and have similar obstacles, so the feel of this map is amazing and its quickly becoming a favourite of mine. The splitting of the season into 2 parts is also a bit of a shitty move, in my opinion. If they have enough content to justify splitting it into 2 parts, the 2 parts should be maybe a little over half price for the 2 parts rather than paying full price twice. I've always said this game has fantastic potential, but the game devs seem hell-bent on greeding the hell out of players with practices that are unsavoury, to say the least.
Imho, you have to weigh how much fun you're having. I've been playing since Season 1. It can be fun, but you have to look past A LOT and grind. And realize that you may be waiting and/or be locked out of some things.

im so suprised that gameloft havent realised how much money they are actually losing out by making this pay 2 win, if this game's only microtransactions were the golden pass and cosmetics (Remove the multiplayer box/cosmetics) then there would be a bigger player base and higher % chance of transactions, Take fortnite for example, Probably one of the biggest earners from microtranactions. not pay 2 win and cosmetics only transactions. How on earth arent these companies taking note is beyond me, I started playing speedstorm in early access and quit in season 3 mainly because of the technically issues, returned for wreck it ralph and will probably quit again soon unless they make big changes
Well, I think they understand their game isn't actually quality. Fortnite has great gameplay and a great gameplay loop. Everything Epic usually does is refined and works almost flawlessly. Speedstorm has bugs, glitches, lag, sync issues, unbalanced gameplay, ramming, and hidden stats. Even if they were to take away the pay to win, it's not that great of a game. It just seems like it is because players view the "fun" of speedstorms behind playing the characters. Removing Disney, you're left with a game that isn't mechanically sound and no one would spend money on it. If I were gameloft and I had to choose between more characters vs great gameplay, I'd choose characters. That is generally what the audience they're serving wants and it's easier to add content without worrying about issues that may pop up because of it.

Its mind blowing just how much worse this game gets as the seasons go on. Wow. Totally disagree. I am a new player. Absolutely loving it. I am now up to 20 characters. I haven’t spent any money and I have earned enough tokens to purchase the golden pass for season 7. I have since been able to purchase 2 more golden pass credits to use for the next two seasons. The characters are great, the driving mechanics are super fun. You certainly don’t need to spend any money to have a great time playing this game. It’s fun having to grind to get new characters. I love opening those universal boxes. I would like to see all the previous seasons available for people to play through as permanent content. That would allow new players to catch up a little faster and allow them access to more characters. Can’t wait to try out Sergeant Calhoun.

Everything he said is true. I only knew tricking was in the game from the jump button and made me think of Mario Kart. It's kinda the only reason i tried the game out to see how much it compares to it. The game is absolutely shit. Like really bad shit. Like i still don't know how to ram and the AI knows how to do it. I have ran into a few players. I could tell because they knew the game and one was level 40 lol. Overall if you are rich just buy this shitty company and fix the game. Even the characters aren't balanced. You can get a common character to be better than a unique character or a rare character. Like if you look in this video Aladdin is one of the top tier characters in that game just from his ability alone. While someone like Lilo sucks because she is a speedster with a smiliar ability. They made the game a cash grab and nothing else. This is a game that could've been made completely for PC and console for 60$ with alot of characters and DLC.

Good spot on the bot labelling in ranked. That and the lack of voice acting for new characters are honestly just sad and really show how badly the game's doing. Oh and the menus are absolutely terrible. It was always a pain doing a new week in the Season Tour because you'd be levelling up the Golden Pass a lot, now that happens three times as often and it's unbearable. And you can't see missions unless you go into the Golden Pass screen filled with BUY NOW signs. Hideous.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised when the latest update gave me allot of free stuff and unlocked characters. I was concerned about what conversion rate I would get for my previous stuff. but it was IMHO pretty fair.

And man, imagine my MASSIVE disappointment when coming back after skipping almost all of S6 (irl time limitations) to find that they killed Local as well by no longer allowing you to pick a racer unless you've unlocked it on Online first. FOR LOCAL PLAY. WHY?
I can only imagine how abysmally small the Local-only player count must be, even among the free-to-play-only base. To the point that I know most people didn't even _notice_ this change since almost everyone plays Online anyways. I'm sure it didn't affect Gameloft in any meaningful way, so to me doing that feels like nothing but a dick move, an extra "screw you" to a diminute portion of free-to-play players who could enjoy the game without really being affected by their predatory business model.
And, since Local play is, again, such a small part of the game, they could get away with simply going "unrestricted racer pick BEGONE" without much fanfare on the matter. At this point, fuck Gameloft man.

Yes, that's usually how small adjustments turn into big problems. Most players don't pay attention to what doesn't affect their game.
My videos have always been about speaking on small changes that could possibly have been reverted, however, as long as the individual is happy, it is never spoken about even if it does impact the entire community.
I've noticed when they take small steps and no one pays attention, they then take even bigger ones and turn it into a full blown thing.
As an example, they started by only removing limited time racers from local/private, then it was season characters, then it was the whole roster.
I've spoken on many changes like that, however, if it doesn't impact every single player (enough to have an outcry like the Golden Pass) it stays in no matter how poor the change. =/

I have a feeling the reason there isn’t any voice lines for some of the new characters is because Gameloft’s Speedstorm Team can’t afford it. Or they can’t afford the whole cast of characters. They gave Ralph and Vanellope the voice lines because they are the main characters, and they don’t see the other 3 important enough to put money into. And I don’t know if they realise this, but removing the voice lines also removes even more players, and more importantly, the pay 2 win players. Because these P2W players most likely love Disney and these characters, but removing the voice lines is also removing the character. And well, like you’ve said before, remove the magic that is ‘Disney’ from this game and you’ve got yourself a bang awful game. And these P2W players ain’t gonna wanna play because they don’t feel that magic anymore. Which means Speedstorm will continue to lose money, leaving them no choice but to stop updating it because they can’t afford it anymore.
Unlike Asphalt, Speedstorm has, guidelines? (I can’t think of the correct word I’m looking for), But Speedstorm needs to have the Disney magic. Like with Asphalt, you don’t have the need to make constant updates with high expectations and a bunch of new iconic Disney characters, voice lines, etc. And Asphalt will continue on for a long time because it’s an actual playable racing game where there’s not a whole lot you can do to ruin that apart from monetisation (which they’ve already done but they’ve got P2W players who don’t really have a reason to quit). Unlike Speedstorm where there are reasons now. Because you know, Speedstorm is a Disney game first, racing game second, or at least it was. Speedstorm needs to have the Disney worlds, the Disney music, the Disney characters, etc.. to keep these P2W players. Most of the F2P players have either already dropped the game or are on the fence about doing so. I dropped the game start of this season after playing since week 1 of EA. It was tough because I spent so much time on the game, but I do not like the direction of the game nor how we are treated as players by the company. Anyways, they rely on P2W players to keep the game running. But Gameloft have really screwed themselves by removing the voice lines. Maybe they didn’t have a choice, maybe they are really broke rn, but that’s their own fault for ruining a promising game with scummy paywalls and ridiculous P2W features. And this is probably just the start of losing the Disney magic, if they can’t afford these VA’s, they will just stop giving new characters voice lines. The music will be next. They won’t be able to afford the liscenses or the top notch composers, so they’ll have to back down to generic racing music that isn’t relatable to Disney at all. I genuinely can’t see this game getting continued support by the end of the year and will become yet another forgotten Gameloft game to lay and rot in the store with no players.
I am tired of this company, I only play two of their games rn which are coincidentally also Disney games. Disney Magic Kingdoms heavily supports paying to be ahead of the game, but I really don’t have that incentive to be ahead, it’s just another one of those games I play for a couple minutes, gather resources and close down. And paying to be ahead doesn’t do much anyways, like, there’s no real advantage so there’s no real reason to pay up. Then there’s Dreamlight Valley, which isn’t as bad compared to other GL games, like you can get everything in this game if you can consistently do well in the weekly events. And there is no fear of missing out on items as they all return on a rotational basis. Like yeah, the game has a paid story DLC with Disney characters, furniture and clothing locked behind, but which game doesn’t have a paid DLC nowadays🙄 It’s annoyingly become the norm. But for a company, having 90% of your games being P2W, it is not a good look. I had hoped that when they started making games for console, that they would change, but it doesn’t feel like it. Well, at least Speedstorm hasn’t. I am still skeptical of the future of DLV, but as of now, it seems ok.

I always said they dug themselves in a hole and they don't really have anymore choice other than to double down, they made *that* many poor decisions.
I recently started Dream light valley because i loved Gameloft's representation of Disney but the loot box money grabbing thing put me off of Speedstorm.

Honestly i imagine it must be daunting to hop in to this game in its current state
I started in season 5 and i cant tell you just how many shards for characters i was given during that season , most of my charaters came from that season - as in like 80% so now when certain races need certain characters i can most of the time play them
But i noticed that in season 6, there were far fewer shards for past characters in general, and this season is even more scarce in that regard .
Starting now is what i imagine to be an unwelcoming experience as you are basically locked out of most of what you can do meaning less and less people will continue to stay on to join the community which is really sad 😢
I love Speedstorm, but when I started playing last year, I spent a lot of time on the wiki to learn about all of the currencies and controls that the tutorial doesn't explain! Your videos were also super helpful, much like this one will be for newer players. We shouldn't have to go to external sources to learn how to play though!
Sadly, I might be done with the game at this point, since I can't even open it after the update. And last time I could play it was very noticeably buggy to point it was hindering my enjoyment. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Should new players start the game? Honestly no they shouldn't. Now until yhey start to make it more f2p friendly like how it use to be. But yhis video will be helpful to people who are silly enough to start this game.
I agree, however if one has an expectation of just playing the free stuff. The game is excellent for free. For me, it was seasons later when I finally had enough characters to unlock nearly all of the Season mode.

Nice video, I started Speedstorm because it was the only kart racer I could find for a chromebook that looked good. I was really enjoying it until I saw this and saw how it was before. I'm a bit dissapointed that now you need extra shards to upgrade a character to level 15 after unlocking one. That wasn't the case before and some single player races have a requirement to be level 15 or you'll get pretty much crushed by the AI most of the time. I know that you can get 14-19 shards easily in ranked, but still... Seems like you need more shards than before.

The lack of voice lines for new characters (I believe) is the results of last year's SAG strike. The Disney Characters Voice Actor Group, which is a department responsible for voicing the characters in the theme parks and other media, were part of that strike to insure their job will not be replaced by AI sound alike.
Also, I recently learned that Calhoun and Felix doesn't have theme park VA, which means they probably don't have an actor in general to replace the celebrities who originally voiced them.
I hope that's the case, however, sometimes you just don't know with this game. 🤐
No, I think it's probably budgetary or licensing reasons, if anything. They said in the patch notes that this would be a thing moving forward, only some characters every season getting voices, not just a one-time deal. That doesn't sound like something that has to do with the strike.
@@paulw858 SAG actors also got a Royalty Raise, IIRC, so it could be a combination of the strike and the budget not having enough money to pay for the new raise.
As a game like Speedstorm ages, it experiences diminishing returns on its investment. Therefore, cutting costs in areas such as voice acting, particularly when it involves celebrities like Jack McBrayer or Sarah Silverman, can lead to significant savings.
@@wonderrob3225 I don't think Sarah Silverman is part of the DCVAG. At least, I hope she isn't. Venelople has only appeared in one theme park parade with lines, so unless that was included in Silverman's contract (doing VA work for marking purposes), they had to get a different actor almost immediately.

They never said they were removing tokens. You just were unable to use them on the pass. Imo, there wasn't anything to sue them for, I just think it might have been talk in the heat of the moment.

Yes, you can't use them on pass. But you can use them for everything else, including pass boost.

Bumping is not enjoyable. I dislike doing it, but it becomes necessary when everyone else is ramming into you in ranked multiplayer. Perhaps there could be a friendly yet competitive mode that rewards precision and skill rather than aggressive play.

Yea, you'd basically have to follow the notes. Basically you're using coins and shards to level now instead of having a lump sum if shards before you level.
I have no issues spending money on F2P games, but in order for that to happen I need to feel like I'm getting something I'm going to be able to use for the rest of my life. Something of "value" (even if it's not). I can not have that feeling knowing that the game can't stop losing players.
That is why I hate P2W in multiplayer games. This isn't a gacha. You have to grow a big enough community for the game to be active, which also makes it better for everyone.

In my opinion if you are a new player to this game you don't really stand a chance the lobby are full of 50 levels in ranked and you might want to save your tokens for your level upgrade because you don't get enough to really level up one specific character so you going to have to sacrifice a lot of characters I feel like this if your character is level 40 level of that character too level 50 the ranked still a bloody mess now in the season get Alot of coins might wanna saved that too buy upgrade tokens so if you are a new player to this game not going too have a lot of fun with it you will have to focus on that one specific character at a time they already Nerf the epic crew members so the game will be doom soon as the next update take place i hated the epic crew members are getting Nerf you won't be able to gain a bonus from the epic crew members no more like that will be 5% kinda sucked
I was hoping this would be a great Mario Kart alternative only to realise that you better off going back to Mario Kart. Im not a mobile gamer for a reason. I don't like the lack of depth and interaction through those kinds of games and I hate spending money all the time on things that just requires playing and progressing through the game. That's why I stopped playing Candy Crush.

Many complaints about Speedstorm stem from seasoned players who wish to continue the game but are encountering increased restrictions and paywalls. As a Brand-new player there is plenty of excellent and fun content to unlock for free
honestly. I think is a bad game. tha state of ranked is still terrible. I thought it would improve with the new update but is still the same chaotic disaster.
How it sounds is its a kids game but the kid better have deep pockets or well the parents was looking at this for my twin daughters but after learning this I might redownload the original cars game from 2004 kids shouldn't be preyed on by these massive companies like Disney who has enough revenue streams as it is
Ive written them a few complaints on X and had no reply. I think this update has a lot of positives. The upgrade coins have certainly simplified the process of levelling. However, they feel rare and are very grindy to earn simply because of the amount you need at higher levels.
The hiding of certain levels in the season behind requirements of other characters has always been a sticking point for me. I've paid for a golden pass to make the most of a season and its benefits, but now I can't finish the season properly because I dont have certain characters? That's shitty design, very shitty.
The new sugar rush levels are insane. They look very true to the movie and have similar obstacles, so the feel of this map is amazing and its quickly becoming a favourite of mine.
The splitting of the season into 2 parts is also a bit of a shitty move, in my opinion. If they have enough content to justify splitting it into 2 parts, the 2 parts should be maybe a little over half price for the 2 parts rather than paying full price twice. I've always said this game has fantastic potential, but the game devs seem hell-bent on greeding the hell out of players with practices that are unsavoury, to say the least.
Everything is on point. Uninstalled after 2 hours. Resource is very restrictive for f2p player.
So its probably best to just drop this game
If you're enjoying it, I think you should keep playing. Life is too short not to enjoy yourself.
Imho, you have to weigh how much fun you're having. I've been playing since Season 1. It can be fun, but you have to look past A LOT and grind. And realize that you may be waiting and/or be locked out of some things.

im so suprised that gameloft havent realised how much money they are actually losing out by making this pay 2 win, if this game's only microtransactions were the golden pass and cosmetics (Remove the multiplayer box/cosmetics) then there would be a bigger player base and higher % chance of transactions, Take fortnite for example, Probably one of the biggest earners from microtranactions. not pay 2 win and cosmetics only transactions. I started playing speedstorm in early access and quit in season 3 mainly because of the technically issues, returned for wreck it ralph and will probably quit again soon unless they make big changes
Well, I think they understand their game isn't actually quality. Fortnite has great gameplay and a great gameplay loop. Everything Epic usually does is refined and works almost flawlessly.
Speedstorm has bugs, glitches, lag, sync issues, unbalanced gameplay, ramming, and hidden stats. Even if they were to take away the pay to win, it's not that great of a game. It just seems like it is because players view the "fun" of speedstorms behind playing the characters.
Removing Disney, you're left with a game that isn't mechanically sound and no one would spend money on it. If I were gameloft and I had to choose between more characters vs great gameplay, I'd choose characters. That is generally what the audience they're serving wants and it's easier to add content without worrying about issues that may pop up because of it.

Its mind blowing just how much worse this game gets as the seasons go on. Absolutely loving it. I am now up to 20 characters.
I haven’t spent any money and I have earned enough tokens to purchase the golden pass for season 7.
I have since been able to purchase 2 more golden pass credits to use for the next two seasons.
The characters are great, the driving mechanics are super fun.
You certainly don’t need to spend any money to have a great time playing this game.
It’s fun having to grind to get new characters. I love opening those universal boxes.
I would like to see all the previous seasons available for people to play through as permanent content.
That would allow new players to catch up a little faster and allow them access to more characters.

Everything he said is true. I only knew tricking was in the game from the jump button and made me think of Mario Kart. It's kinda the only reason i tried the game out to see how much it compares to it. The game is absolutely shit. Like really bad shit. Like i still don't know how to ram and the AI knows how to do it. I have ran into a few players. I could tell because they knew the game and one was level 40 lol. Overall if you are rich just buy this shitty company and fix the game. Even the characters aren't balanced. You can get a common character to be better than a unique character or a rare character. Like if you look in this video Aladdin is one of the top tier characters in that game just from his ability alone. While someone like Lilo sucks because she is a speedster with a smiliar ability. They made the game a cash grab and nothing else. This is a game that could've been made completely for PC and console for 60$ with alot of characters and DLC.

Good spot on the bot labelling in ranked. That and the lack of voice acting for new characters are honestly just sad and really show how badly the game's doing.
Oh and the menus are absolutely terrible. It was always a pain doing a new week in the Season Tour because you'd be levelling up the Golden Pass a lot, now that happens three times as often and it's unbearable. And you can't see missions unless you go into the Golden Pass screen filled with BUY NOW signs. Hideous.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised when the latest update gave me allot of free stuff and unlocked characters. I was concerned about what conversion rate I would get for my previous stuff. but it was IMHO pretty fair.
