This beard would've looked much better if two more inches had been taken off. Cutting it just at the curve would've looked perfect. But of course, to each his own; the client clearly asked to keep the length. The barber can only do what the client asks him to do, and he did one hell of a job.
I just trimmed my beard and it looks double the thickness for it. Best advice I can give is take your time concentrate on the shape and if you have beard straighteners, then use them beforehand get everything straight as possible. Unfortunately for us guys with thin beards you have to bite the bullet and look homeless for a good couple of months to let the beard grow out. That process sadly has had to be repeated multiple times for me to get a decent looking beard. Fucking frustrating, but the ned results are really worth it.
Yeah, I'm actually thinking he needs just the goatee. Which appears to be very thick & full about 2" up from the end. Which is still long & will continue to grow. His sides r very wild, thin, and patchy.
I always grow out my goatee for 4 or 5 months before growing out the rest. that helped me eliminate that uneven look so when I finally trimmed mine it looked clean without so much of a wave in it.
This isn't a "thin" beard (density wise, except for his higher cheeks), it's more that he has fine and fairly straight hair. I have a very similar beard and getting a good shape is pretty difficult. This barber did a great job. Guys with those coarse beards with thicker/curlier hair are way easier to trim.
I need a place like this in Toronto. I've tried and tried, but I've never been able to get service like the places that Beardbrand goes to. Just excellent.
Thanks for the response! I've tried many different places in Toronto: 2 barbers at Garrison, 1 at Crows Nest, 3 at Kings Crown, and 1 at ManCave. I'm sure there are good barbers out here, I've just yet to find one who does as perfect as a job as the barbers on Bearbrand's channel. They bust out their clippers and go ham on my beard. No one has yet to line me up with a comb and clipper like the way these guys (and girls do). If there's anyone you recommend, let me know!
Thanks so much for the recommendation! :D I'll definitely look into it. I'll repost what i've responded to a previous comment so you get an idea as to where I've gone in Toronto: "I've tried many different places in Toronto: 2 barbers at Garrison, 1 at Crows Nest, 3 at Kings Crown, and 1 at ManCave. The barber did a Great job on this beard looks 100% better & thicker great video & useful tips as always! Keep up the good work love the barbershop series 👍🏻
Awesome work! It's great that you guys cater to all types of beards and hair challenges on this channel - regardless of color, follicular thickness, head shapes, etc. I respect that!
A nice job by the barber! The gentleman has a great beard. I have the same wave, but lots of length gives the weight to pull it down, straighten it. Great video!
@Joxiel Thank you, Joxiel, that's very kind of you. I've been growing this latest incarnation for about 3 years, with the occasional trim on the length to even things up. Again, thanks so much!
I personally wouldn't let my beard become this long when its shape becoming strange.. Looks very thin on the bottom side.. And looking from the side the chin area begins to grow curvy... It just looks ungroomed this way. I understand this gentleman would not like to take it off but this length is just not nice for this particular beard..
bangxeloz For sure, we think this customer was thinking something very similar to you. He didn't take it quite as high as you're thinking but an occasional trip like this to the barbershop can definitely add more of a shape to a beard that's beginning to go wild. - Jack
Beardbrand you guys are forgetting about sleeper hairs! best way for them to catch up is to trim every once in a while. you never know maybe he can achieve the full beard with some more time
bangxeloz I know the feeling because i have grown mine out for 5 -6 months and in certain areas it looked thin. I had the thickness along the jawline and chin but it caused my beard to drop with thr weight and gravity and then made my cheeks look thin. Now I have a 3 month beard that i keep closer to my face and it looks much thicker and neater. Sometimes you have to grow it out long to find the "sweetspot"
I have the same wave shape but my beard is thicker, i use blow dryer after shower to straighten it, after that i apply oil and comb it. And it works perfectly !
This is literally what my beard does. It’s almost as if the back/the underneath of my beard grows but my chin hairs just stop at a certain point. You can really see it from the side angle. It is the worst to maintain. Any tips out there on how to get my beard all one length?
Mine was doing this for the longest, but its because qhen you comb it, you comb inward under the chin. Blow dry it stright up then comb it straight down not under the beard.
I have the same problem with my beard. I'm just supposed to keep cutting it short? I really want a long beard but it like curls. I currently look like a homeless person.
I would have taken that beard to about an inch or so below the chin. And I would have taken the cheeks down about a quarter inch or so. There is a good beard that lives in all that facial hair, but it starts just before that wave in the goatee. Shape is way more important than length to me. It's all about keeping the shape where the hair is most dense. Just my two cents.
When i asked this new barber to line my beard up, he not only trimmed it, but he also took the natural shape away and boxed it out. I had 2 months of beard growth and, i was so discouraged after what he did, that i completely shaved it off and now im back to square 1
Omar Falcon Unfortunately that will happen sometimes. There are definitely some barbers out there who won't completely understand your beard and what you personally want to do with it. If you feel that you want to trim your own beard next time it needs some tidying up, Greg actually made a great video on how to do that: Be Your Own Barber: DIY Beard Trim | Greg Berzinsky ruclips.net/video/orsQk1IXFt4/видео.html Or, you could always try to find a different barber. I have that same shit curve outward on my neck and it drove me insane. I tried trimming it myself and ended up just messing it up so bad that I had to trim it nearly all off. Instant regret. Glad I found this channel for when it finally grows back out in a few months. Me and this guy should have trimmed the neck beard back a bit more and moved on to focus on accentuating other parts of the genome.
setam1 No doubt an "athletic beard" would look great on him, but he definitely seemed to prefer a longer style. Personal taste is really what it comes down to typically. - Jack
The bottom of my beard looks like mine but I feel like me wearing a face mask at work all day created it, washing it and combing it eventually gets it out.
I used to have a beard this long, but i had the same problem with the curl under the chin. The bottom of the goatee sort of wrapped around the chin and the rest of it curled the other way. Exactly like this guys from the side view. Is there a way to stop this happening. I keep going to grow mine back but the thought of this stops me everytime. As i dont think its a good look. Any advice would be appreciated.
It may take a bit of work but a great way to get that curl out of your beard is to work on it with a round brush and blow dryer. We demonstrate this method in these videos: ruclips.net/video/G0XMF6dySQ8/видео.html' ruclips.net/video/6oOe4ZJwg-g/видео.html - Jack
Some people just try too hard. If you don’t have a thick beard, keep it a little on the shorter side and it will look way better. There is a thin line for us people wearing full beards, you can look like a manly groomed gentleman or like a bum.
Yeah with this beard trend going on every Tom Dick Harry is growing out a long beard. 2 weeks ago I saw a guy with such a thin patchy beard, it legit looked like pubes on his face, some men don't got the genetics for it, accept it and try another style.
If this beard is "thin", i've got no beard :D But i've got the problem with the curls too. My beard grows to th left at jawline. I need at least 2-3cm to get the weight in it, that it straightens.
Honestly the gents beard appeared much more balanced in the before shot even though it is thin. Couldn't he have taken the beard shorter like with a long hair clipper guard to get it all even? I feel that massive curl in the chin area is partly due to the uneven lengths of hair and not just the natural characteristics. To add to this, his moustache looks great! Not thin at all there.. wish mines was as thick. If he can grow such a nice moustache like that you'd think he should be able to grow a decent beard? I'm betting most of the reason his beard looked funny was because of bad trim jobs in the past when growing out to that length.
I actually liked the beard way better before. That flip half curl at the bottom when he finished was awful. It was WAY more noticeable after the trim than before. I would have went straight home and trimmed back to a short beard after that cut.
He needs to learn how to tame the curl/wave under the chin. I have the same thing and it looks a lot fuller when you can get that bottom bit combed out and the smooth it down with the hands.
Ya i think they should have gone higher to remove that whole section that curves outward. Would have looked neater and would allow for a nice place to continue growing the beard from
I feel it’d be kind of weird to have another man run his hands through my beard. I’ve always trimmed my own to the best of my abilities. Might get a trim next time I get my hair cut
If this guy knew how to take care of his beard it would look a lot better. Your beard is gonna have waves and curls you have to train it to sit normal. Blow dryer and lots of combing is the key.
Wow what a beard... BTW, wonder how most bald guys have perfectly spherical heads, whereas full haired hunks almost always have noticeably bumpy head once a while whenever they shave their palate
I thought it was supposed to be a thin beard? I don’t think people understand what a thin beard looks like? I have full coverage and nice growth but you can see right through it to my face. Idk weather to shave it off or try a different look. It does look really nice as long as light isn’t hitting it from certain angles.
My issue to sir...its sideburn to cheek thin. Dosent want to thicken in those areas. Almost like a badass goatee would be best! But we like to have fullness.
@@jeffreydavis5506 I have the opposite situation. My cheeks, neck, and mustache area is strong. But I can't grow a goatee, mustache doesn't connect with beard
Man this guy did a hell of a job! That beard seemed difficult to work with but he owned it. Excellent!
Rob Sosa The guys at Gentleman & Rouges Club are wizards with scissors (and clippers too).

This! So.Much.This. I don't see why there are any negative comments here. I want THAT guy to trim my beard, he did an excellent job IMO.

A shorter beard would fit him better
Why?
@Evo Shift I really hate it there's no sweet spot for my beard naturally. It is so uneven if I was him I would trim more, and start again instead.
Totally agree. It would look much heavier and thicker.
Yeah, I'm actually thinking he needs just the goatee. Which appears to be very thick & full about 2" up from the end. Which is still long & will continue to grow. His sides r very wild, thin, and patchy.
he should go shorter, goatee length
Barber is such a well mannered guy👌
Rifat Aamad Glad you think so! We're sure Josh will really appreciate this comment! Thanks for the support!
- Jack
Indeed, he literally is.
+Beardbrand I wish I had somebody to fix my beard. I need somebody who new what they was doing like this.
You people are forgetting that the client wanted a longer beard. The barber worked with what the client wanted and he killed it.
These two gentlemen is what we all in earth need now
I always grow out my goatee for 4 or 5 months before growing out the rest. that helped me eliminate that uneven look so when I finally trimmed mine it looked clean without so much of a wave in it.

What is the difference between a short beard and a medium ?
You are happy and I am happy too.
His neck beard is longer than his chin beard.
SSJAUTOBOT This trim definitely helped even things out though, don't you think?
- Jack
Most neck beard terminal length is longer on people. If it's shaped right it adds to fullness.
Yeah you could have taken off another inch and it would have looked way better.
I'd cut that whole curl out. And just shape the chin in
It looks good from the front

For those saying it’s not thin obviously it’s thin at the bottom growth
How long to get it that long. Im filled out now i just need to grow it out.

I have very thin hair as well it's very difficult to keep perfect looking beard at all times.
Great work and total respect, but I would've cut it at the curve and lived with it. At least you'd still have a nice beard.
Why wouldn't you straigthen the beard first? His beard did not look like it was natrually curly, just unkept.
