What I find great about Youngchul is that he does all his studies in Korea and never giving up. While he is known for his english, and definitely should, Young chul also learned a multitude of other languages all in Korea to achieve his dream of becoming an international comedian.

Yeah i was actually so worried when i went to Japan but in the end i was really surprised and thankful how many people helped me and i was able to get by with a tiny bit of japanese i knew mixed with tiny bit of english they knew and a little improvised sign language lol

The US is a multi-cultural society and is renowned internationally, meaning a large influx of tourists, which also means that surprise, not everyone in the country is guaranteed to have good English comprehension. Those who realise that fact will probably understand and, whilst annoyance is natural, they’ll be -relatively- patient nonetheless. Of course, that doesn’t completely remove the possibility of a situation like the one in the skit actually happening because we’re not perfect either 🤔

pro-tip: don't use 'what' when you dont understand someone. instead use, 'sorry?' or 'excuse me?'. I've seen korean celebs who use 'what?' and it gives me the rude vibe. Although i completely understand that they dont speak the language but how they deliver it is also important. Koreans in my country are very polite so i was quite shocked when i heard other celebs use 'what' and 'got it?' (알겠어요?) in a commanding tone when talking to some foreigners.
