I don't think that's being clingy, she has the guts to tell Ben "it's not the relationship I want' and goes living with her dad. I dunno but I think it's Ryn who made a bridge for Ben and Maddie's falling apart relationship. It's Ben who's being clingy and obsessed on my opinion.

When Maddie and Ben broke up, that's when the romance in this series got better. Besides Ben seemed to be more into Ryn than Maddie as the series went on, he was even bothered when they broke up.
