Coltrane only performed Love Supreme live once, on July 26, 1965 in Antibes France. The 12:40 you see here is the only surviving footage of that historic concert.

Coltrane played love supreme live three times : one here in france and two in the usa in 1964 in philadelphie club showboat and 1967 few weeks before his passing in a black communauty meeting.

Coltrane also performed it in Seattle in fall of 1965 and Impulse Records has announced the discovery of high-quality tapes of the complete recording which will be released as a 2-LP set on October 8, 2021. Can’t wait!

This is Everything! I’ve often described this as Coltrane attempting to reach out and up to touch the face of God. It’s as though I can feel him straining to reach out to God and being frustrated as to reach beyond the limitations of his voice.
    The purest of genius.

You have the Right to believe what you want. As do I. You feeling compelled to exalt your non-belief if God doesn’t impact anything or change anything. So, what’s your point? To make yourself feel superior? Good for you!
